Q: Are there any grants or scholarships offered to music students in North Carolina?
I am a senior in high school and am planning on my major being vocal performance. Are there any grants or scholarships for music students in North Carolina that I could apply for?
A: Hello how are you? What I suggest you do is use a scholarship search. A scholarship search allows you to create a profile and receive information for all the scholarships that you are eligible to apply for based on your profile description. Scholarshipsupport.com actually has 3 free scholarship searches available right now. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
Q: Does the United Negro College Fund consider half African American students for scholarships?
I'm applying for one of their scholarships and I put in my essay that I'm half African American. Would this hurt chances of getting a scholarship from them?
A: uhh i dont see why it should. wouldnt that be discrimination, who ares if your only half. i would still go for it.
Q: Do transfers students receive less aid, grants or scholarships?
I know, this isn't very specific but I'm looking for a basic generalization.
Generally speaking, do colleges and universities give out less aid, grants or scholarships to transfer students?
A: it has nothing to do with the fact that you transferred from college.i did my first two years at a community college and finished at university.Bursaries and scholarships are based on your GPA the higher the better.good luck!
Q: What do you think are some ways to stimulate or encourage students to apply for scholarships?
My friends are unsure of whether they'll receive scholarships. What are possible ideas you can give me so I can encourage them to apply! There's thousands of many out there, and I want them to apply and receive free cash just like any other student. How can I encourage them to apply?
A: Justification for higher education. We can't all be rock stars or movie stars, Mom and Dad won't always be footing the bills and young people today need and want more toys and bling than ever before in history. Explain to them that the better educated they are the better chance they have of obtaining that Hummer, or Lamboghini, or Porsche or that huge mansion on the beach, world travel or early retirement. Whatever their dreams may be, won't be obtainable without a good career and a good, complete education is the only sure way of going into a decent career with a real future these days.

Q: Do you know any universities that award students full scholarships for international students?
Please help me with this!
A: If you are getting a PhD, there are plenty of programs that offer funding, not matter if you are international or not. As for undergrads, you might be able to get an athletic scholarship if you are very good at a sport. Private universities are the first ones to look at if you want an academically merit based scholarship because the state schools have to give preference to domestic students.
Good luck!
Q: Do Universities offer scholarships to students transferring from other colleges?
I'm just wondering...
I plan on going to DCCC for two years, for financial reasons, and then transferring to probably Drexel. After two years at DCCC, do Universities offer scholarships, even though you're out of high school?
A: Yes, most of them do. There are as many types of scholarships as their are students. You are doing it the smart way. Actually most universities encourage students to go to community college first. One, because it get a lot of the basics out of the way and it is less expensive and two, because it helps prepare the student for the upper education of a university. Not everyone is ready to go straight to higher ed and community colleges offer scholarships as well. Check the school catalogues for available scholarships-if you cannot find what you are looking for talk to someone in student services, that is what they are there for. When you are ready to transfer, contact your major department to see what is available and what the qualifications are. If you are still in HS you should have an adviser there somewhere who can point you in the general direction as well, but do ask. You can go on line, but it really is better to check with a breathing individual first to field your general questions to. Good luck.
Q: Can international students get scholarships for MBA programs in America?
(If they get accepted into the university in the first place, of course)
A: Many MBA programs offer financial aid to foreign students. typically aid is provided on the basis of merit rather than need. That means good GPA and high GMAT score. Before you consider which MBA program is for you, consult the Official MBA Guide, a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and other criteria. It's the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.
Q: How can international students get scholarships to canada?
A: It's very difficult for first year students. For American students studying in Canada, scholarship or grant money originating in the U.S. which does not need to be paid back must typically stay in the U.S. Also, Canadian schools offer few scholarships (called bursaries) or other financial aid opportunities for International Students, particularly for in-coming freshmen (although each school's catalog should be checked). Your best shot is to check to see if merit-based bursaries are offered during a student’s second, third or fourth year of study, but you need to ensure that international students are eligible. Check both the school you plan to attend as well as opportunties offered by your program of study (e.g., major) at that school. Some countries do offer afforable student loans for their own citizens studying abroad. For example, American citizens are eligible for the U.S. Stafford Student Loan and U.S. Parents PLUS Loan if the student is attending a Canadian school recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are an American citizen, you might want to check out the website below. Good luck.
Q: Does anyone know of a website that tells you all the scholarships given to high school students?
Can someone tell me a website or a list of all the scholarships available to high school students applying for university?
A: Scholarships for high school students are available on grants.tv
Q: Are international students eligible for scholarships in Australia?
I have got and admit in University of Western Australia in BE Electronics and Communication! But the situation is that I have to finance my entire education! I don't have any idea doing about that! It's just me and myself. I really have no idea right now what I should do? Should I reject this offer because it means a lot to me.
Are there scholarships available which I would take and perhaps redeem a little bit of pressure of finance from my side?
Hows Perth as a city,is it very costly?
Let's see I am counting on honest replies from folks out there
A: G'day,
Unfortunately most university scholarships are for Australians. Your best chance to get scholarship is by visiting www.ausaid.gov.au for Australian Government scholarship programs.
Below is the estimate of typical cost of living for UWA students.
Good luck on your study and welcome to Australia :)
Q: Does Harvard University have scholarships for international, undergraduate students who wish to take medical?
I am a student from Indonesia and I am wondering whether Harvard University can give a scholarship if I am an undergraduate and planning to take medical studies. Please help me! If there is a scholarship, can you tell me where I can find more information about it? Please include the requirements also, if you can. Thanks for your help!
A: Contact Harvard via their website. There are some schlarships for international students, I'm sure but they are probably extremely coveted. You will need to far exceed the requirements they list.
Q: Do students actually apply for scholarships or are most parents applying for them as if it is a student?
I dove into the world of free college scholarship offerings from a "zillion" possible companies or organizations. But the 10 or so I've seen look as if it is the student who needs to be writing them and not a parent. Any one know anything on this?
A: Yes, it is the students responsibility to apply for scholarships as well as do the admissions process themselves.
I see lots of potential college students and their parents... trust me... 30 seconds in a room with them and I can tell you who's going to complete the semester (without F's) and who's there because mom wants to keep them on the family insurance.
Talk to your kid, but don't do ANYTHING for them when it comes to college. There is a term called "Helicopter Parents". They "hover"... hence the term.
Read up on it., don't become one.. and let your kids become adults...
Q: Can anyone tell me a good university that offers full scholarships for IB students from all over the world?
I received a full scholarship for studying in IB in another country, so right now I'm in my first year, so I'm interested if there are any universities that offer full scholarships (or somewhere near 100%) for international students that finished IB. I would like to study marketing and advertising or international economics, international relations...
Thank you in advance to anyone who answers this question, it means a lot to me.
A: being an IB student does not automatically qualify you for any scholarships that i have ever seen. the IB in the us is optional and is not offered everywhere-in fact it is only offered in the more wealthy areas of the country. Kids in france don't get scholarships just because they completed their exit exam-because that's exactly what the bach is. It is the exit exam for high school kids in france and many other francophone countries in europe. It looks good on college apps-but it's nothing special. I took the Bach when i lived in france and it was cake-no special classes needed. try getting a scholarship based on merit, not on class.
Q: Does anyone know of scholarships that are available for international students at UVA?
I am an international student who goes to school in the United States; I have already applied for the green card 7 months ago but the application is still pending. Is there any scholarships that might be available to me if I apply as an undergraduate student to the University of Virginia? Need-based or merit-based. Thank you so much!
A: The University of Virginia expects all eligible students to apply for state financial aid programs in Virginia and, for out-of-state residents, in their home states. Information about various state programs, eligibility, and application requirements is available from individual states. A listing of all state agencies can be found on the FAFSA form.
