Q: What are the best jobs for college students?
Like what part-time jobs do college students apply for? any suggestions?

A: Well To be truthful the best job for a college student is not a restaurant or a bar. The best job is to find a small shop like a antique or thrift store. That way when you are not busy you can get a little studying time in. For instance my sister in law worked in a small gift shop in Savannah Georgia. about 5 people per hour came in looked and bought some stuff but she got to know her hours and it wasn't stressed. A bar can be hectic and you need a job that pays well enough and does not interfere with studying. However can you provide more information? Are you living in a dorm or at home? Are you having to support your self and pay rent? Are you paying for your college? These would certainly affect your outcome. One more thing is maybe you can take a job in the Field you are getting your degree in. My friend is in medical school and she is working in a pharmacy as an assistant part time. Its best to do something in your field as your getting the education. That way when you graduate you can have a little experience under the belt. So do gift shop, or something small in the retail section.

Q: Is there not any evening jobs for students in nottingham?
My and my friends have been searching everywhere in nottingham for jobs and noone is hiring staff... Does anyone know of anywhere that a hiring staff for evening work?

A: There are no jobs! No-one is volentarily leaving there jobs because of the recession, and if people are being sacked, no one is being employed to replace them because business is slow. Maybe you could sell a bit of weed to your friends (if you do it)? I download and sell dvd's of the latest films to my friends and neighbours (for two pounds each which makes me about eighty quid a week). I know criminal activity isnt the best thing in the world, but at least it'll give you a bit extra cash.

Q: Most available jobs for students with no work experience?
Over 18 years old. Where can I find available jobs that will take someone with very little work experience and in their freshman year of college in this aweful economy?

A: When I was a senior in high school i worked three weeks at subway... its really easy to get the job. I am also 18 and I am now a college freshmen and its really hard where I live to get a full time or hell part time job and be able to keep it. Because of financial aid at my school for my tuition i was qualified to work at my school. I just got hired to work at a Daycare Center. So if your school has jobs aviable do that. But if that doesnt work any type of fast food place is really easy to get in

Q: Can high school students get summer jobs in pharmacies?
I'm a junior and am thinking of pharmacy as a possible career option so would therefore love as much experience i can get before i graduate! Do pharmacies offer jobs to high school students in the summer? Is there an application process or do you have to contact a pharmacy and ask?

A: It depends on the state and the pharmacy manager. High schoolers can work in a pharmacy in my state. There is a bias against them. Most pharmacies have applications online.

Q: How are the Job prospects for MBA(International Students) in Australia?
How are the Job opportunities for International Students who complete their MBA in Australia ? I'v got admission to Latrobe University,Melbourne. The course is MIT/MBA,its a dual degree? Could i get a better job there after completing my course?

A: Like any other country in the world, our economy is currently slowing down and so job opportunities across all sectors have been decreasing over the last few months and are predicted to contract further over the next year or so. Nobody can predict how far the contraction will go and its impact on job opportunities. That's one factor to consider. Further, have you had any real life management experience? If no, then your chances of finding such a position immediately after graduation are low. An MBA even if combined with an MIT is not a guaranteed entry into the boardroom. In Australia an MBA is usually something to attempt after a few years of management experience. Unlike in some other countries where an MBA following undergraduate work often provides an open door to the new MBA holder into management. Then, you will need to consider any Australian management experience. If you've had no experience as a manager in Australia, your chances of finding a position are diminished. It would be advisable for you to start developing networks in the field of your interest while you are in Australia studying for your MBA. This could improve your chances of finding a position that can lead into management following graduation. Hope this helps!

Q: Are there any jobs offered at hospitals for college students?
im currently going to college for radiology, it is my second year, and i would love to get some experience working in a hospital. But i have no idea how to go about doing that and if there are even jobs offered to students with no experience working in a hospital! thanks

A: Depending on where you live, I have heard of hospitals who employ transporters, or people who do nothing all day but move patients from their rooms to various other departments for testing, and then back to their rooms. Some hospitals call them runners, but there doesnt seem to be an official title for them so I cant tell you what to fill out on an application. If I were you, I would go ahead and start turning in resumes to various hospitals, stressing the fact that you are in radiology school, and just see what happens. There may be a hospital that needs rad techs and would be willing to hire you as a runner with the understanding that, when you finish school, you will work for them. The worst they can do is say "no thanks" but----who knows? Isnt it at least worth a try?

Q: What jobs are available for the students who just completed medical school without any residency?
...or is about to enter residency? Secondly, how much can you earn with those jobs if they are available? Are they just internships? or what? explain. Also, how difficult is it to get a job right after finishing medical school? [Med students and doctors please help]

A: There aren't any medical jobs available to a new MD. Although you have earned your degree, you do not have a license. Your first license to practice is provided under the aegis of your residency program and is only valid while your are in training, meaning you can't start practicing medicine independently from that program. The value of a MD degree only comes after you are board certified in a specialty. There are many foreign educated physicians working in non-medical jobs because they are unable to pass the USMLE (a few years ago there was a news report of the number of Indian physician cab drivers). The bottom line is that a person who has completed medical school is expected to immediately enter a residency program. Doing anything else makes no sense and about the only reason a person would be in that situation is because they could not get into any residency...and that sends the worst message.

Q: What are good jobs for college students planning on going to medical school?
I am a college freshman and am planning on going to medical school after I graduate. I know I need to get some sort of experience in the medical field to look good on my applications. I was wondering what types of summer jobs I could get that would be good experience in the medical field. I know a lot of these jobs require some sort of training and I was hoping I could maybe do some online training so I could get a better and higher paying job. If anybody can help me out on this that would be great, thanks.

A: Volunteer at a hospital. You can also get involved in research, which also looks good for medical school.

Q: Do you know any organizations that give tutoring jobs to High School students?
I need a job and am considering tutoring, but I don't know any organizations that hire high school students in NYC. Any suggestions?

A: Depending on your age, you could certainly use yahoo to search for tutoring companies in your area and approach them about hiring you. If you do that, I would prepare a very good resume and list of people that you have tutored as references. However, I would think that you will have better luck thinking about being a self employed tutor. Even if you are not outgoing, there are lots of ways to promote a tutoring business. Think carefully about the age of student and subjects that you are qualified to tutor in. You might write a classified ad for Craig's List that advertises your services (free), you might make up some business cards (low cost kit from Office Depot) and talk with the teacher at your school that teach the subjects you could tutor. You may get some referrals. Let them know you are available and what you charge. You might also offer tutoring to a fellow student who you know is struggling. Donate an hour and give them a business card. Ask local businesses you patronize that have business cards by the register or on a bulletin board if you can leave some. Visit the PTA organizations of schools in your area (and your school) and give the PTA president some of your cards and ask him or her to keep you in mind for people who need tutoring. The schools are often unable to recommend specific providers, but the PTAs can in many cases.

Q: How to find jobs for foreign students in Singapore?
I am a foreigner currently studying at a local JC in Singapore. Q: What is the best way to approach employers about jobs for my students with cognitive disabilities?
My students are 18-21. They have some in school work experience. Some have trouble expressing themselves, therefore making it difficult to get through the interview process.

A: If you're up front with the potential employers it can really help. I am speaking from experience as a disabled employee. My primary disability is a learning disability, but I do have others...as a result of a medical condition I was born with. I first told my supervisor about my learning disabilities, then, when I was sure that she was comfortable with that, I told her a little bit more about the underlying medical condition that caused them.

Q: What are some good jobs for college students?
Also what are some good money saving tips for college students?

A: i waited tables and bartended all through college, it was great money but maybe not the best atmosphere to be in, late nights and weekends were hard to study around. My grandfather gave me the best advice, when you get your paycheck (or tips) put 15% of it into savings ASAP, you will be surprised how much you can save! Best of luck.....

Q: What are good jobs for college students? What are some jobs that has benefits and is stable after graduating?
What are some stable government jobs with health insurance benefits or with any benefits at all?

A: A college student that doesnt know everything.......now theres a first.......LoL. Guess it depends on what counry you live in really. In a Zimbabwe government a good health benefit is not having Robert Mugabe kill you :)
