Q: Where can I gain the credentials to be a court-appointed Ebonics translator? Are there university programs?
This is a serious question. I recently did jury duty and the judge offered us"language translation" if necessary. I asked her what the foreign language was and she answered "Ebonics". During the trial, a courrt-appoiinted "translator" was there and translated a few phrases. Example: "talkin trash" = lying

A: I'd go ask the Court, I didn't know it was still recognized as a language. Actually I think Cali was the only one that ever did call it a language. The rest of it call it lazy English, or street talk, which means it isn't suitable for a Court of Law.

Q: RANTO I need you help. Or anybody else who knows about university and business programs?
RANTO I need you help. Or anybody else who knows about university and business programs? When applying to the University of Michigan Ross business school....? it says my first year has to be at another program then I will only be able to get into the ross school of business Would choosing Kineseolgy ( sports management) be a waste of money since it seems like its more of a phys ed education. should I sign up for the school of arts, science and literature? Which is better?

A: If you spend one year as a Kinesiology major, you will barely touch the major requirements for that degree. If you were to take the full degree and then pursue an MBA, that would be one thing. But a year in any program isn't going to get you very far in that major. Kinesiology is at most schools offered in the College of Education and is popular among those who want to be PE teachers. Kinesiology is not "sports management." I think the U of M biz school is asking for a year of classes to see what you're made of. Consider starting off with the core requirements of a BA or BS. Talk to a counselor about what has worked best for successful candidates to the biz school.

Q: What are the top university PsyD programs in the US?
I know that Rutgers, Pepperdine, and Baylor have great reputations, does anyone know what other universities are excellent as well?

A: In a ranking system that was based only on faculty research publications and citations, in addition to the programs you mention, New York University, and Indiana State were relatively highly ranked. For the complete list (includes Ph.D. as well as PsyD programs, go here: http://www.socialpsychology.org/clinrank.htm Another list, now 10 years old, used results from the EPPP by graduates of programs as a ranking method. (The EPPP is the exam most states use for licensure as a psychologist.) With that system, Widener University was tops among the PsyD programs. (http://www.socialpsychology.org/clinrank1997.htm)

Q: Any good post-graduate university programs to get certified to administer psychoeducational assessments?

Q: What are some good university programs for someone with no clue on what they want to be?

A: Alluozzo, the three answers you have had so far are excellent BUT none of the repliers bothered to investigate what kind of mind you have. Your educated best answer on blood types tells me that you have a definite niche and that is "health care". For that reason alone I would suggest you take science courses, especially Biology or Chemistry and if possible Biochemistry. But if this does not appeal to you then your best bet is Economics saince this will give you job entry (not necessarily career) into banking and business. Bell Telephone companies always hire people with economic degrees. Insurance companies do the same. Now, to get back to health care, supposing you do not want to commit yourself to long undergrad studies as would be required in Medicine or Dentistry. A good start is a much shorter but just as important degree, that of nursing. That might surprise you but it is an excellent way to see if your best skills are in health care. An RN course is only two years in most places and now-a-days an RNA is almost as well paid and that course is usually only ONE year. I fully understand your lack of decision right now. I floundered terribly before choosing my life work (in health care by the way). Hope this gives you some sense of direction. Much good luck in your choice.

Q: Are there any marketing or communication programs at University of Toronto?
I know about their commerce program but I want to know if there are other programs that specifically cater to marketing and or communications.

A: The Mississauga campus offers a Digital Enterprise Management (DEM) program. See: http://www.utm.utoronto.ca/index.php?id=2693 It's an interdisciplinary program offered in conjunction with the Rotman School of Management and the Communication Culture & Information Technology (CCIT) department shared by UTM/Sheridan College. I know of someone who graduated from the program a few years ago, and from what I was told, it's an excellent program. Hope this helps.
