What is the procedure to obtain the spouse visa for the same ?

A: State department.
Q: How much Japanese do you need to (or should) know before taking part in a student exchange program to Japan?
I'm interested in going to japan, probably with Student Exchange Australia, does anyone have experience with them? I'm thinking of doing the 1 year program.
A: While I am not familiar with Student Exchange Australia, I have lived in Japan for 12 years and seen a lot of exchange students coming and going. I think the answer depends on your goals - do you want to become a fluent speaker, or just have an interesting cultural experience?
If you want to become fluent, I would recommend trying to be placed in the countryside, at arms length from the big cities. There will be fewer English speakers there, and fewer distractions. Conversely, it's possible to live in Tokyo for many years, and not pick up much Japanese at all. You can gain great fluency in one year if you surround yourself with good Japanese friends.
As to how much you need to know before going? You could get by with just learning the basic polite greetings, as most of what you learn beyond that may just make you nervous and clam up when you finally get to Japan.
If you really wanted to give yourself a head start, just concentrate for a couple of weeks on learning the two basic 'alphabets' of katakana and hiragana. They are easy to learn, and will give you the best foundation to work on. Most people I've seen who don't master those two written systems (and doggedly stick with 'romaji' - transliterating the words into the English alphabet) do not get past the basics. Just get yourself some big notepads and write, write, write them over and over until you can memorize them. It may be daunting at first, but you will appreciate the work when you get there.
Japan is a wonderful country, with highs and lows just like any other culture. The only other thing to take is an open mind, and you will have a fantastic time!
Q: Does anybody know where i can find an exchange student program?

Okay, so I was e-mailed a letter saying I was nominated for this trip to Japan via "People to People Student Ambassador" program. Has anyone been part of this and if so, is it worth it and how much money does it cost?
A: Hi, my son just got an invitation for this and it took me awhile but I got all the info. You have to pay for the trip and its not cheap. Here is the link to the PDF file that discloses all of the pricing starting at $5000 and up. If you can afford that in these times....more power to you. =)

Q: How can a 11 year old land a spot in a working student program at a stable? What is a Working Student program?
My sis wants to land a spot at Reverie Farm and tack or some other stable nearby. What should she do? How should we propose the idea to our parents? She is kind of nervous about the whole thing.
She wants to work in exchange for lessons, so don't preach me about her being too young. Oh, and
http://www.reveriefarm.com/index.htm
A: I am not sure... some "mom and pop" places might hire her. but she is not yet of legal age to "work" is some cases (like family businesses) a child can "work" or be on pay role at age 10+. but if it is a company that is not family owned I do not think she could get the job. I thing that she could go and ask, but maybe try to start on a smaller farm first.
Q: How does the Student Loan Repayment Program work in the army?
I am considering enlisting in the army and I was wondering how the student loan repayment program works. I have done some research so i do know that they pay a portion of the principle amount of a federal loan every year that you are enlisted and that you must score a 50 or higher on the ASVAB...plus be eligble for a MOS. But I want to know how the program works from an insider....or someone who has done quite a bit of research. Any details will help. Thanks!
A: have you incurred the expenses already? are you going to be an officer, or are you planning to take classes after you have enlisted? or after you get out, my husband did his after he got out and there was no problem in them paying for his classes, there however was specific paperwork he had to fill out before he got into school and each semester to get the payments done.
Q: My best friend would like to go to America on an Exchange Student Program?
Is it true that she would need to be able to do contortion to get into the cheerleader-squad?
A: Being able to be a contortionist is quite rare, so the answer would be no. My high school doesn't require anything hard, but maybe some schools require some gymnastics training or dance.
Hope this helps.
Q: What are the requirements for the Air National Guard $20,000 Student Loan Repayment Program?
I am about to join the Washington Air National Guard and wondering what the requirements are for the student loan repayment program.
What type of loans are qualified for this program?
When can I get a loan or does it have to be a loan that was previously received?
What are the places that I should get the loan from that qualifies for this program?
If you can provide me with some websites it would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Has anyone ever used AFS's foreign exchange student program?
I'm looking to become a foreign exchange student and I was wondering if anyone has used AFS before. I also have several questions. Do you get to pick what city you go to? Do you get to pick the family you stay with? Do you get to pick the school you go to? I'm wanting to go to Stuttgart, Germany.
A: Hi, I used AFS in Germany. It was good as it provided a means to get into the country. Germany was my last country choice, no choice of city or family (unless maybe if you know someone there who will take you) as it's difficult finding placement families, opening your home to a complete stranger is quite a big ask, so there aren't too many options although they do try and match you to a family where possible. You don't get to pick schools. I made some great friends and have returned. Look into rotary also http://www.rotary.org/en/StudentsAndYouth/youthprograms/RotaryYouthExchange/Pages/ridefault.aspx
I heard they were good but it means you have to change families.
Q: what is the best high school foreign exchange student program?
i want to go to Australia my junior year so what is the best program and what is the cost and also is there any scholarship that you can get to help pay. and i want to go for a full year
A: Okay so it is difficult to explain it all but here are some links of organizations that definitely will help you out with the cost...The cost that I have see to study in Australia is at least $10,000..plus an additional $900 for the tuition..but prizes may vary...there are scholarship that are being offered.
Q: Has anyone ever participated in a student ambassadors program like this one?
It's like this program that students can get in to travel to like a different country and stay for like a week like this one is to Australia
Here's the link to the one they sent me :
http://reserve.studentambassadors.org/reserve/login.aspx
I was just curious if anyone has actually been on one of these trips, because i wanted to kind of know about how much it cost you and was it worth it???? thanks!
A: It's longer than a week, it's like 15 days atleast that's what mine was to Australia and mine was going to cost about $5,000-$7,000 dollars overall.(including flight, hotel, meals(3 a day) ect) I don't think it's worth it, I dropped out last minute because a family member passed away but now that I found out a guy died last summer while on a P2P Japan trip. I'm not so sure if I want to go on one at all! It's a real program but thousands of letters are sent out daily to many kids and alot of people think that P2P is prestigious and elite but it's not. It so easy to get in all you have to do is act like you want in the program, dress nice and answer questions that you think they would want you to answer them and your in, that's all it really takes.
Invest your money into something more important like college.
Q: How do I apply for an exchange student program?
Particularly overseas? This is the first time I'm considering this and honestly have no idea how it works... have u been an exchange student overseas, what's your experience and advice for me? thanks..! :)
A: Easy.
Just search online for the different programs. Read about them. Decide which one suits you best. Contact them. They will tell you about enrollment forms etc... and after that you are in.
Some programs you can search for are:
www.yfu.org
www.beautifulspain.com
I participated in this second one, and other kids in the first one but we ended up being in the same, in Santander. What a fantastic place. LOVED IT. The experience was amazing. Everything so well organized. Host families are extremely well screened and very loving. This program gets returnees year after year, so great it is.
Cost is really reasonable considering everything included (as long as you sign up with this program through their web site as there are organizations that sell the same program for much more so high quality it is).
Some of the activities and excursions it offers besides Spanish, cooking and dancing classes are: Guggenheim Museum, paella dinner, bullfight, fireworks on the beach, city tour, medieval towns, fishing villages, many beach days, Aquarium, tall ship vessel excursion, Roman village hiking trip, canoening down the river, shopping, and much more.
It offers you the possibility of enrolling with a friend with whom to share same host family home, or for you to stay alone at host family. Many host families count on children of similar age to participating students.
