Q: What are some good graduate schools that offer good psychology programs?

A: My best advice is go online to the American Psychological Association website and look at their list of accredited schools. You want to make sure that it is accredited by the APA. There are so many programs that are not. Then you also need to look into the licensing requirements for the state that you plan to live in. Most will only license you if the school you attended is APA accredited, but make sure that the program will meet the requirements for your practicum and internship hours.

Q: What schools have a good undergrad psychology program?
I'm thinking about transferring to a school that has a better psychology program. I go to a pretty decent school now, it's rated one of the best schools by princeton review, but the psych program isn't very good. I'm looking for a counseling psychology program (I would ideally like to be a relationship therapist). Any schools that aren't really hard to get into, like ivy league, but still good schools?

A: Cornell and Johns Hopkins had the two first psychology labs in the US, and both continue to have very renowned and well known faculty in their Psychology department. Cornell is an Ivy League school and Hopkins is a top university, but with good grades, you should be able to get in.

Q: Who has the best online psychology program?
Who do you think has the best online psychology program? And out of the best, which is the cheapest? (out of the accredited online colleges of couse) I know that none of them are APA accredited, I will have to attend a ground school for that, Im just looking to achieve a bachelors online and then transfer my credits to a graduate school later on. Thanks for your help!

A: This site has some good information on accredited online bachelors degrees in psychology and some colleges for you to consider: http://www.ecollegefinder.org/bachelors-degree-general-psychology.aspx I have heard that Argosy is one of the best around. But I would recommend contacting all of the schools to find the best fit for you and your needs. I have found that many sites listing tuition information are inaccurate so it is far more beneficial to ask the schools directly. Good luck!

Q: Is it easier to get into law school than a graduate program in clinical psychology?
I heard that it is easier to get into medical school than a graduate psychology program? But what about law school? Any answer would help thanks.

A: medical school is a very long winded thing it will proberly be about 10 years untill you can be a doctor because you will have to have a internship t a hospital and study medicine for a few years. a lawyer you have to : Four years to earn an undergraduate degree, the major can be almost anything but most students choose Criminal Justice or Political Science; some institutions offer a Bachelor's Degree in pre-law. Before being accepted to law school you must take the LSAT which is a test for admittance. If the law student carries a full credit load they can conceivably finish in three years. After graduating from law school the person will have a Juris Doctorate and may then take the bar exam in the state where they choose to be licensed. This usually occurs a few months after graduation. Most states offer the Bar exam in February and July, about two months after most schools graduate their classes. Results can take many months before they are announced. (July exam results are typically published in November!) psychology is the easiest

Q: fastest way to search for Psychology Ph.D. programs?
I'm tired of having to look at university after university, is there a search engine dedicated to academic programs in the U.S.? I live in Oregon and am interested in a school in either Oregon, Washington, Idaho or worst case, Montana to get a Ph.D. in psychology. I'm scoping out the universities one by one, I'm going through U of W, but need a faster way to do it....

A: Hmm, i know that my Undergrad University has a center that helped me with finding med school options...maybe you could elicit the help of your local University. but, if my opinion counts(and it doesnt;) then I would say to for sure stay in Oregon or Washington...they are much more cutting edge and Psychology as you know is ever changing... Just a thought

Q: can you name new york city(cunys) colleges with good psychology programs?

A: Both CUNY and SUNY schools offer psychology degrees. But let's face a few facts: a BS or BA in Psych is not enough to get you into the field. You will need at least a masters, probably a doctorate. You need to do your research on how each college program ranks. One thing to look for is APA accreditation. Likely that you will need to go to a school that offers a doctorate in order to find the best program. Stony Brook might be one of several options.........
