Q: Any study programs in British boarding schools?
I'm looking for a study abroad program in a British boarding school.
Schools I'm interested in so far are Clifton College and Ardingly College but I'm still looking.
I'm in form 4 right now and planning on going in sixth form.
A: Do you mean that you want to go to a British boarding school for the Sixth Form? Many boarding schools take in new students in the sixth form for their final two years. Usually to boost their A'level results, sometimes just to fill empty spots.
Some students come on full scholarship but you have to be outstanding to get one of these. Otherwise the fees are very high indeed.
Q: What are some good college programs to study abroad with?
I am thinking about one day doing a study abroad program in Germany.
Has anyone ever done this and could you give me any advice?
A: There are plenty of study abroad opportunities- especially in Germany. It all depends on where you want to go, what you want to study, and how long your stay will be. Some good programs or organizations to check out for Germany: AIFS (American Institute for Foreign Study); IES (the Institute for the International Education of Students); and CEA (Cultural Experiences Abroad). Many U.S. universities also open their study abroad programs to visiting students; you could look at NYU, UC Berkeley, Rutgers, etc.
If you need a place to start your search, I work for a company dedicated to helping students go abroad. The website: www.gullivergo.com has a database of programs you can peruse. You can search by location, area of study, or time of year. There are plenty of options for Germany. There are also discussion forums where you can talk to students who have studied abroad or are currently abroad. If you do find a program that's right for you, the website can help you with the admissions process, obtaining a visa, passport, flight information, and direct you toward any necessary contacts to help you on your trip.
Q: What study abroad programs can I go to Ireland with?
AFS doesn't have a program in Ireland, and Intrax is way to expensive. Do you know any other programs? Im in high school by the way, I want to study abroad my junior year.
A: Intrax, CIEE, Amerispan, and more.
For college-Goabroad.com has a great selection.
Q: Has anyone seen Erasmus-study programs containing anything else than bars and drinking beer?
Erasmus program is european student exchange, takes usually 4 months, and what i have seen, its just beer-drinking voyage to foreign country. Students dont even go to school more than 1-2 times a week.
Have you seen or heard anyone studying or taking it seriously while at one of them?
A: No, not really.
It is all about experiencing living abroad and....yeah, drinking!

Q: What are good study abroad programs in Italy?
I am hoping to study abroad in Italy next summer. My major is Food and Nutrition, so I thought it might be interesting to do some type of program involving cooking classes, etc. I would prefer to go to Rome or Florence or possibly Tuscany. Any tips about anything relating to this subject?
Thanks.

Q: What are the best Study Abroad programs available for study over in Japan?
I'm very interested in studying abroad in Japan, but I'm having trouble deciding which programs are better than others. I'm looking for the top 6 or so best programs available, so if you know of any good ones please let me know. Many Thanks to all who answer!
Study Abroad of course meaning College Study Abroad.
A: The top three programs are AFS, YFU and Rotary. Rotary is the cheapest, yet most competitive. I'm not even sure if it's still possible to apply with them for next year if that's what you had in mind.
Here are the sites from those organizations:

Q: What are some good study abroad programs in Spain?
My friends and I have already decided we want to study abroad in spain. The problem is finding a good fitting program for the spring semester. We are looking for something less costly anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000 the most.
We are juniors in college and not looking for an exchange program, but a program where you live with other students in residence halls.
A: You did not mention if you are high school or college age. Some programs are specific to certain ages or countries. If you are enrolled in college already, then check with your counselor or advisor about programs through the school. Check out the sites below. I have personal experience with Ayusa as a host family to three students FROM Spain.
Q: What are some colleges with the best study abroad programs?

Q: Where are some good resources for study abroad programs and funding?
Does anyone know of websites or other sources for finding good study abroad programs, or funding for studying abroad? I am looking at Ireland specifically if that helps.
A: Well, there are many resources to find study abroad programs in the region that interest you. The Internet is your best source of information if you have time. Most universities also have a dedicated office to study abroad programs. The problem is that these counselors are biased. There are also counselors that are independent like myself who specialize in one geographic areas or one subject. There is a fee to their service but usually that service will be very helpful to find the right program for your or to jump start your research in the right direction. Unfortunately Ireland is not my area of concentration so I can't help you much there. However study abroad.com and google can be of a great help.
Remember funding is available through your student loans and it is usually easier to get through your school. There are also scholarships but those are very limited. Spain and France are my areas and I usually suggest to my students to go SOLO with no middle man (STudy abroad programs and university sponsored programs). It is usually much cheaper for the same program and I strongly believe that you can pay for it from you summer job ( a six weeks in Spain can cost you around 2000 including flight food and stay while in most programs you have to pay 3500 just in tution).
Good luck in your research, and contact me if you need help.

Q: where can i find information about intensive study programs in japan?
i am thinking of doing a intense program in japan. i need help finding different programs. i also want find some information on what i need to do to get ready.
A: Many people like to teach english as a second language as an entree into Japanese culture, and then pursue further studies once they are working in the country.
However, there are other options:
The University of Osaka is one place to start:
Osaka Japanese Language Education Center
