Q: does anyone know of a masters program online?
I am looking for a university that offers masters online. Looking to take something to do with International Studies. Ideally I would like a job that is contract positions, possibly with world vision or UN. ANy Suggestions?
A: There are tons of online programs. I personally attended traditional and online-only schools, and I have taught for various online schools and traditional schools over the last five years. All are accredited and solid programs. Schools tend to vary in price, so we could say online schools are more expensive, but that is relative. Of course they are more expensive than a community college, but less expensive than Harvard. The price range varies.
The key is to find a program that is fully accredited. Is it worth it? YES. My career has boomed since my MBA at nearly 5 years ago. I am close to finishing my PhD through distance education, and I am at the job that I want. I know I wouldn’t be here without the education. If you are looking at work in the U.S., then you need a school that is accredited and recognized by the Dept of Ed. I can give more info on that later.
You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!
Q: Looking at Masters in Computer Science. What are the best online programs?
Especially looking at what are the cost effective grad school programs- I only get $5k/yr reimbursement, would like to take 4 classes year, or 12 credit hours, so ~$400-500/credit hour would be great. Live in TN.
A: Most jobs won't hire someone who got their education online. You should consider a local community college if you are looking for a good education, my husband pays $1600 a semester for his school and it is a very good school.
Q: What is the difference in doing a Masters program online vs going to the actual school?
I want to go enroll in a Masters Graphic Design program online at Savannah School or Design. I heard they have a really good program and I am seriously thinking of enrolling. I know that by going to the actual school I will have more of an opportunity to learn from my teachers and they can actively critique my work and I can even talk to my classmates and learn more through them. I just want to know what other differences there are. Will employers see the difference and frown upon seeing them or will the online Masters degree still hold its own? I really want to work and go to school now without having to move to Georgia. I would seriously consider moving to Georgia if there really are some significant differences.
A: If u already have considerable expeience in that field it is alright t opt for an online school as it lets u study according to convinience with current lifestyle. On other hand people who have not worked in a related field will probably find learning at actual school better coz it allows one to learn better with greater support systems like teachers, other students, clubs etc.
Q: Hello, I am looking for online Masters degree programs in Women's Spirituality. Thanks!
A: What the hell is "Women's Spirituality"? Sounds like academic BS to me.
Q: Will an online masters program meet the qualifications for getting my Professional Teaching Cert. in NYS?
I have my initial certification in NYS, and I am starting to look at graduate programs to complete my Prof. cert. I would really like to do an online program, specifically a M. Ed in curriculum and instruction - children's literature through Penn State online. Does anyone know if this program meets will meet the requirements considering it is distance learning through another state? It is an accredited program, but I don't know if I have to get my masters in NYS to get my Prof. cert.
I would prefer answers from NYS teachers. Thank you!
A: Sure, just check the school accreditation. Strayer University and University of Phoenix are acceptable I am just not sure if they offer the college courses you need. I suggest you contact the School Board and ask them which schools they accept for the certification you need.
Q: Does anyone know anything about Univ of WI - La Crosse's online master's programs?
Does anyone know anything about Univ of Wisconsin - La Crosse's online master's degree programs...specifically the program in Student Affairs?
I work full-time in a university and want to get my master's degree. However, a traditional on-campus program won't work for me because I cannot afford to quit my job (plus this job is related to the degree I want). I was just wondering if anyone has heard any positives or negatives to their online programs.
A: You can learn more about the program at this site:
http://www.uwlax.edu/saa/
The University of Wisconsin LaCrosse master's degree in Student Affairs was recently accredited by its regional accrediting association. Given the intense process required for acquiring this accreditation, the University's program should be an excellent one.
The only online degrees that I would ever recommend are those that have regional accreditation.

Q: I am looking for accredited Masters in Education online programs? I know Penn State has one. Any others?
A: I learned that there are different accreditations...it depends on what you are looking for..I am still unsure about what the right things are to be looking for..UOP is accredited.
Q: Online Master Programs?
I am interested in pursuing an online master's program in HR through Phoenix University. I am wondering how reputable online master programs are....would an employer look unfavourably toward them?
A: No I dont think that they look down on online programs. Phoenix University is accredited and HR is not a position that you would need alot of Hands on experience from school. I believe you should be ok. My Fiance is going through Kaplan University Online for Criminal Justice and we check into how reputable online schools are. Good Luck
Q: Graduate Programs online???
I am thinking of taking an online masters program but not sure what to look for in a good program for online. Any suggestions would be great :o) If it helps I am thinking of Special Education or Spcial Education with Autism. Thanks!
A: watch my video on Asperger's (a type of Autism) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbgUjmeC-4o
Q: Does penn state university offer placements for online masters MBA program graduates?
I am from non -business management background who want to pursue a masters degree in MBA through online course. Will the course be teaching the basics of business administration before getting into details.
A: I believe you need a Business Degree in order to pursue the masters degree because you are building onto the other courses you would have had to take. you need the general business core for the bachelor's degree at Penn State and the Masters is if you want to take all of that one step further. The only online part of the university is WorldCampus and I don't think they offer the Masters in Business Admin.
Q: What do you think about this online Masters?
I am a 32 year old male and move aroudn alot due to my job in the U.S. I will be beginning an online program for a Masters in School Counseling later this month at Seton Hall University. It is a well known school, brick and mortar, and part of the program is actually a residency there. However, the rest is online. I have decided to switch careers into education.
It is not an MBA or anything where connections are SOOOO important. An MBA you need the connections with your classmates and alumni network. Do you think this program is ok? I prob think going to school in person is better, however, this fits my lifestyle and the program is accredited.
A: If you can't go to a campus-based program due to moves and etc., then this would be a reasonable choice for you. Seton Hall is a solid, third tier university. It has a solid reputation. Absolutely nothing wrong with that school. No, it's not Harvard, but it's far from bad. It would be a good choice.
I terms of this degree's ability to get you into the field you hope to enter - I'd have you see if you can set up a conversation (an informational interview, for example) with a school principal at a school where you'd like to work. Ask lots of questions - what is needed in order to become a guidance counsellor (or whatever), etc. What they like to see in new hires. And then, at the end of the conversation: is an online degree from Seton Hall, which is a reputable brick and mortar, acceptable?
Q: Where can I find an online Masters of Ed program that I can finish in under a year? ?
I am an educator looking for a bump in pay. I will have time during the next year to concentrate on school and would like to finish before other commitments arise.
A: Rowan University in New Jersey has MST and other MEd programs that can be completed in a year.
Q: Affordable, Online Masters Program??
Can Anyone recomend an affordable online masters program in the Special Education feild?? I am having trouble finding a school that is actually accredited and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to attend. Any help is appreciated.
A: Northcentral University. It's 100% online.

Q: Does anyone know of any online masters program in history?
A: Nope but I found my online masters program at www.gradschools.com You can search by major, catagory and distance learning!
Q: Are there any schools that offer online art therapy programs?
I live in CT and want to pursue an art therapy degree. I already have a BFA in Ceramics- I just need to take more classes in psychology and then need to proceed in the masters program. I work full-time and live far from colleges that offer these programs. Does anyone know of any online schools that have art therapy degrees?
A: http://findcollege.noneto.com - try this one.
It has listing of most reputable US online art courses, resume for each university, how much average salary should you expect, so you can easy chose and apply.
