Q: what are the differences between vocational, online, and university nursing programs?
I decided to not continue my education as a business major and instead wanted to get into nursing. what kind of school would be best for a college student who is working full time and want to change careers? what would be beneficial for me? and what are the differences? i want to get the most out of my education in a shorter time span and hopefully continue again afterwards...

A: If you work full time, you probably need online program. http://findcollege.noneto.com - try this one. It has listing of most reputable US online RN courses, resume for each university, how much average salary should you expect, so you can easy choose the best one for you and apply.

Q: How would you rate Phoenix Online University?
I have an undergraduate degree in Information Systems and am considering getting another degree in Health care Administration. I would like to pursue an MBA in Health care Administration and do it online. University of Phoenix Online has this program, but I'm not sure how well respected they are. Any input positive or negative is appreciated. Any suggestions for online programs is also helpful. Thanks!.

A: I live in the Phoenix area so I can attest to how the U of PHX degree is viewed in my area. It has 'some' value indeed; however, when put up against some degrees from rival schools, not counting the state universities. It can't hold water. Around here, the perception is "everybody pass". With that reputation perspective employers will always hold out for a better prospect. If you are already employed and just want to move up, then the school is good for advancement. Hope that helps.

Q: Does anyone know anything about Argosy University Online program?
I dont know if this is weird but i just want to find out some info on this school because i was thinking about going...actually in the middle of applying....but i was wondering if anyone been through the university or know anyone that has and if they have any comments or reviews on the university??? is it good or not worth going too??? lol

A: I have never heard of them. I really think you should see if the school is accredited because if it is not you will have hard finding job with that degree. You might not even be able to seat for a licensing exam in your field if they are not. Some state school have distant learning program that you can do online look into one of those. Browse that site below to see if you can find a school with your potential major that is accredited. http://www.guidetoonlineschools.com/ ss

Q: I am looking for an affordable Online Distance University, does anyone can help me on my search?
I am a student living outside the U.S I would like to start my Bachelors degree in a Online Program, are there cheap but with accreditation universities online that accept international students?

A: There are many resources for individuals looking to enroll in online courses. Since courses are online, many of them DO accept international students. Obviously, you'd need to have continuous access to the internet. I've done some preliminary research, and have come across many schools that do accept students in your situation. This site seems to have pretty good information, as well as many schools you can compare. Good luck!

Q: Has anyone received there MBA through Regis University Online Program? Any thoughts on online MBAs?

A: An MBA from a top 15 university will allow you to get a six figure salary in nearly any field of business. An MBA from a program ranked between 16 and 30 will allow you to increase your salary quite a bit -- allowing you to get a six figure salary in an area where you already have experience. An MBA from a ranked university that is not in the top 30 will allow you to increase your salary enough where it justifies going full time. An MBA from an unranked brick and mortar university will not do much for you in terms of getting you a new job or increasing your salary -- but may help you out in the company where you now work. An MBA from an on line university will actually make it harder for you to get a new job than if you didn't go there at all. Many employers -- and nearly all of the quality companies -- will look down on an on line degree and are more likely to throw away your resume than not. Most on line universities are For Profit corporations that are ot selective and have sleazy recruiting practices. University of Phoenix, for example, was recently fined a record $9.8 Million for their recruiting practices. While they may claim to be accredited, they usually have the easy to get regional accreditation and lack the more prestigious national accreditation. Avoid on line colleges at all costs.

Q: What US universities have online genealogy programs?
I'm looking for online certification or online programs. Thanks.

A: It isn't in the U.S., but the University of Toronto has a great online program called the National Institute of Genealogical Studies. You can find it at www.genealogicalstudies.com. In this program you can specialize in a particular geographical area (e.g., American records, German records) and there are also courses for genealogical librarians. BYU has a family history program, but I don't know whether any courses from it are available online.

Q: What is the most prestigious University that offers distance (online) learning programs for Graduate level?

A: None of them. Online programs aren't looked favorably upon by many people in many professions. For example, in West Virginia, you can't become a psychologist without 80% of your courses being on campus. See http://www.wvpsychbd.org/Requirements%20for%20Licensure.htm Also, you will learn more with REAL (not virtual) human interaction. When it comes down to it, who is the employer going to pick? You, with your "virtual" degree, or Jack, who attended class? Something to think about.

Q: Has anyone gone through the University of Pheonix online program for Bachelors of Psychology?Your opinion of ?
I am considering finishing up my bachelors through them because of the convenience, despite the cost. Is it worth it, for those of you who have gone this route.

A: university of phoenix is a diploma mill and employers know this. alot of employeers will not hire because uni of phoenix is known to be a joke.

Q: Would you refer people to the University of Phoenix online program? Why or why not?
I'm especially interested to read answers from people who were in the program.

A: I graduated from the UOP on-line program for Business Management in August. For me the program was great since it finally got me to finish my degree. However, it was not without its frustrations. If you write well and can handle covering team projects for others in your class who fail to do their part of an assignment - then I would recommend the program. If however, you do not write well (multiple papers due each week, plus on-line questions and participation) and do not deal well with frustrating people (class mates who try to sail through on others effort) then I would not recommend the UOP on-line program.

Q: How does the University of Phoenix online-program work??
I did my GED in 2005 so I have an High School diploma. I really would like to earn a degree in something. The only problem is I'm living in Germany and they don't accept the GED as they do a normal high school diploma. In the US I can study, my SAT scores were about average. I was wondering if I could start a program even though I'm not currently living in the US.

A: You bet there are a ton of them. Check on line.

Q: Is there an online university that is covered by financial aid?
I woud like to know if there is an online university that offers various masters programs? Also, it should be covered by financial aid (grants, etc) and has the option of getting students loans if needed?

A: Masters programs are generally not covered by federal grants but federal loans. With that said there a few schools that offer graduate programs online but I would look at local state universities first and then state universities in general. Mainly because state universities are accredited, state universities and select private institutions are more widely accepted and if you can get into a state university in your own state, it would be cheaper than these private online schools. Also, a good place to check is... http://www.FinancialAidQuick.com/ Best of luck to you.

Q: Is the University of Phoenix online program legitimate?
My friend wants to do it and she said this recruiter was pressuring her and said she didn't need references from other schools which I thought brought up a red flag. Does anyone know anything about this?

A: Are they legit? Yes. They are an accredited online university. You will get a degree from them that says "MBA" or some such thing which may or may not be accepted by bussiness, but will be laughed out the door at any academic institute. There is plenty of info on the program on the web, a quick search will generate both the good and the bad. As far as online universities go, it is one of the better ones from all standpoints, although it is pricey.

Q: How do students of the University of Phoenix online program like the school?

A: My friend took some online classes from UOP, and said that they were quite hard. I'm not sure if they're accredited or not.

Q: Are there any colleges or universities that have full online programs in California?
I'm a Pennsylvania resident that wants to start college online then transfer into a traditional school in California but I can't find any colleges that have online degrees.

A: There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. The key is to make sure the college/university is accredited. Good luck on your search!

Q: Is anyone going to the University of Phonenix?
I have been trying to get my masters. Last weekend i meet a university rep at a party. She informed me that she could help me get in an online university program. Can you get fafsa to support online universities? Does fafsa support graduates?

A: Thankfully, no.
