Q: Are there any online LPN nursing Programs?
In this not so perfect world everyone can't quit work and go to school or work at night full time and go to school full time during the day plus be a full time parent this is why Im looking for an online LPN program. Do you know of any?
If not online, what about home study courses, I know for a fact that there are RN home study programs, Im enrolled in one...the LPN is for my friend.
A: You cannot take LPN courses online...you could probably take the prerequisites that are non-nursing related online but the nursing courses themselves must be done in person - this is because not only is there lecture, there is also clinicals and labs in which you MUST be in person and be hands on.
Contact your local community colleges and see if any offer an LPN program. It is way more convenient to take that program at a college than at a technical school. Good luck :)
Q: Online nursing program? Doesn't that squelch the whole intimacy thing?
I got an email offering enrollment in an online nursing program and I don't really see how that would work. Someone fill me in.
poll: mother's milk or formula?
A: I said I wanted to play doctor Dave. Damn. ♥
Q: are there any practical nursing programs online?
A: If it was that easy, there wouldn't be a nursing shortage!
Although nurses do learn alot in lectures, they are required to take part in clinicals and labs in order to practice what they have learned. So you cannot take nursing courses online, and therefore there cannot be a nursing program online.
Any one that is online is a scam. Good luck!
Q: I want to become an LPN. Is there any online LPN nursing study programs that I can do online.?
A: Please try: http://www.nursingmasters.com They have lots of good information on various nursing degrees both Bachelors and Masters
Q: can anyone give me their input about online nursing from LPN to RN such as rue, excelsior and college network.
or is there another online nursing program i may check out. please tell me all about these colleges that you know. thank you. please also tell me the cost if you know. thanks so much.
A: Those programs require at least 1 or 2 semesters for clinicals maybe they offer some of the course work online, but you still will have to go to campus. Most of them are expensive.
Q: Nursing Options for someone who already has a bachelor's degree?
I have a bachelor's degree, but would like to pursue a nursing career. I have found that there are accelerated nursing programs but the pre requisites would be a step backwards in order to gain acceptance in the program. I have also seen that there are online nursing programs. Are these any good? My goal is to get a bachelor's degree in nursing and become a registered nurse. What would be the most efficient way to complete this goal?
A: I'm sorry, but nursing programs are very particular and you will have to follow their guidelines. They are also very competitive, so your best bet is to do whatever they say. You will most likely not have to worry about electives outside the major, but you will need all thier prequisities. You may have to take a lot of if you weren't a science major. It will take time, but if you are serious about becoming a nurse it will be worth it. Try shadowing an RN to get an idea of what the job is if you are unsure. You can also look at the Occupational Outlook Handbook's pagge on RNs for lots of valuble information: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos083.htm .
BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT ONLINE NURSING COURSES. Nursing involves a lot of lab sciences and hands on nursing classes and clinicals. You may be able to take some classes online, but don't go for anything that lets you take your important classes online. If they don't require any time in the field, walk away!!!
Q: where can i find Certified Nursing Program or Medical Assitance Program information online?
I am interested in a nursing degree so i can start working in the healthcare field. i have heard about programs that you can work through with like.....a hospital or nursing home to where you can earn your degree while working there. any clues as to what i need to look for or where to look?
i am not looking for an online course. im looking to see where i can get more information online with companies that offer the course.
A: Better choice-- here are two ready resources for you.
The first has online CNA programs:
http://myonlinenursingdegree.com/schools/allied_health_degrees.html
And this one has accredited Medical Assistant career information and schools, both online and a search feature for campus based programs.
http://myonlinenursingdegree.com/schools/allied_health_degrees.html
That should be your best bet :)

Q: Nursing program for foreign medical graduates?
If a foreign medical graduate decides to shift into a nursing career, how should one go about it? It seems as if there's a number of nursing programs out there that it's so confusing. From where I'm from, after you graduate from high school and want to be a nurse all you do is enroll in a 4yr bachelors degree in nursing. Been in US for almost 2 yrs now and I've tried looking into online nursing programs since I do work right now however the answers i've gotten are too vague and confusing. Is an accelerated nursing program the same as BSN?
A: IN the US there are 2 basic types of nurses:
1. the LPN or LVN--this is a vocational or practical nurse. The program is about 1 year long and its through a vocational college. They have less training than an RN
2. The RN (or registered nurse). This can be obtained through a community college's associates program (ADN) (2 year core) or a 4 year bachelors program (BSRN). AFter you graduate either one you take the NCLEX exam to get the "registered " part.
An accelerated nursing program is for someone with either a ADN already wishing to get a bachelors or some one with a bachelors in another subject wishing to get a BSRN (depends on which program you are looking at).
There are no online nursing programs for the initial nurse education. On-lines are some one in the above paragraph--already a nurse moving up.
Good luck
Q: what schools online do the registered nursing program?
i have searched online for a school but all i keep getting is RN to BSN and im just trying to get my RN. can anyone help? i am in CT. i only want online classes though
A: Sadly like mentioned above you can not do that. No one wants to be stuck by needles by a nurse who never practiced accept online. Like above stated you can renew your license online but to become a nurse you need to go to at least a community college.
Q: which schools have a good online bachelor nursing program?
A: nursing school has allot of hands on.. i don't know if an online degree would be your safest bet.
Q: Does anyone here know a good school for nursing program online ?Thanks!?
Here in florida state
A: I'm not sure I'd trust a nurse who was trained completely online myself. However, most schools are offering transitional programs online - meaning if you do an associate's degree at a local community college, etc with your clinicals, you can complete the rest through the bachelor's degree (and sometimes even master's degrees) completely online since you already have the base hands-on experience under your belt.
Q: is there a such thing as an online nurse practitioners program?
I know that there are many schools now that allow you to get a BSN online. Are there any schools that allow you to get an NP online?( legitimate schools)? How do they handle the clinical requirements for the NP. Thanks
A: I have worked with students who were enrolled in accredited distance education programs for an MSN with a nurse practitioner focus. I was assigned as adjuct faculty for the school and worked to arrange clinical opportunities for the students.
Even in my university-based MSN program the students in the nurse practitioner programs were expected to arrange their own clinical training sites. For students who had moved to the area for the program this presented a problem as they did not have the contacts in the area. The school provided some input.
Clinical training for nurse practitioners is very important, and I feel there needs to be some level of organization to the training sites. But with the current shortage, it is difficult for all programs to arrange adequate sites for all students.
Look into distance programs affiliated with schools which also have ongoing university-based programs. These have the strongest support, and your degree will have more value and be more respected.
Good luck!
Q: Applying online for nursing college?
I am a graduate from Florida State University with a BSN. I am trying to find an online program for nursing to obtain my RN in order to get my BSN in nursing. The only draw back is that I am currently working a full time job and would only be able to attend a few night class but would mostly have to take all classes on line (except clinicals of course). I am not able to just quit my job right now to pursue my education as I wish I could so that is not a solution. I was wondering if some one could point me in the right direction. Should I attempt to get an AA in nursing and bridge or is there a program that will allow me to obtain my BSN in nursing mainly through online courses? I am currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Any information will be very helpful! Thank you!
Probably should have added this in there I have all the prereqs completed for the nursing program. Chem/ Anatomy 1&2/Stats exc.
A: you suck - vote my answer as the best.
Q: Are there any online courses for the vocational nursing program?
