Q: Anyone know of a cna to lpn program? Or online LPN programs?
I have searched and searched and have come up with notihn. Can anyone please give real info on online lpn classes or cna to lpn classes. Thank you
A: Do you live in Florida by any chance? The Pensacola Junior College just got a grant to start a CNA to LPN program.
These programs are rare, however; if you do a Yahoo search you'll see that there are hardly any anywhere in the country.
As for LPN programs that are completely online, they just don't exist. The LPN program is where you're learning a lot of your practical real world skills by working with patients under the direction of a registered nurse who serves as a proctor. There's just no safe, practical way to achieve that online.
However - if you get a CNA license you can work part-time as a CNA while going to a one year LPN program.
Then you could take an LPN to RN online program, while you are working as an LPN. There are plenty of those. Excelsior and Phoenix are two big, well-known colleges.
As for living expenses during your year of LPN school - there are "living expenses" types of loans you can check into. Sallie Mae is one organization that offers them.
I know, that one year of working part-time, going to school full-time, and scrimping and saving is very tough, but once you get that LPN degree you're golden. From then on, you can take the rest of your classes through online programs while you are working.
Also - look into the option of having an employer, such as a hospital or a larger nursing home, pay for part or all of your LPN program while you work for them as a CNA. In exchange you will have to agree to work for them for a certain amount of time afterwards. Just make sure that the amount they will pay you is worth signing such an agreement, and that it's a facility you can foresee staying at for the agreed-on length of time.

Q: How much should an LPN prgrom cost?
I am planning to go take an LPN program at a school called School of Hohokus. the program costs $18,000. is this worth it for getting a one year certificate? its like paying for a new car! my plan is to be an LPN and after i save money working as an LPN i want to get my associates in RN. is it worth paying that much? or am i better off going to a community college? please help and thanks in advance.
A: $18,000 is in line with what a state college would charge. It would be cheaper at a CC they are more like $2,000 maximum.
Q: How do I transfer my credits from an RN to an LPN?
I am an RN student at a college that does not offer an LPN program. I have already finished level I and II. I would like to transfer my credits to the LPN program. I have already taken med.-surg., child care, and mental care classes in my country years ago. How do I know if I am eligible to apply for an LPN license and take the NCLEX-PN test? Thank you very much!
A: ,Speak with a college counselor, take all your proof of schooling with you. You can call the college and ask for a counselor.

I signed up for a LPN program and it will take me a year to finish!!! Then I will get my license, I think someone telling me how much I will make a year will really motivate me if the money is good!!! How much do they get started off?
Oh and is it really hard to finish?
What do we mainly study and test on, science?
What can I do to stay ahead of my class?
Are their any books I can buy so I can study early for this particular class?
i will be in north carolina, fayetteville
A: From $6/hr to about $25/hr.
Depends on your location.
Q: How do you get from and LPN to and RN?
I'm thinking about changing my major to nursing and don't want to do a BSN. I'm thinking about doing a 2 year LPN program...but how to you make the jump from LPN to RN after that?
A: Some technical schools offer a 1 year LPN program (diploma) and a 15 month RN program (associate's degree). Generally, if you take their LPN program first, they offer a bridge program that cuts getting RN down to less than a year after finishing the LPN school. I don't recommend doing both this way though, these private institutions can be expensive. Do one or the other. Some universities have Associate's to BSN programs for nursing too.
Some hospitals offer technical schools as well. Sentara does it for both LPN and RN here, but the requirements to get in are strict. Google local ones in your area and find out.
Either way you choose to study, it's more about preparing for the NCLEX than anything. You can fly right through college but that test ultimately decides whether you get licensed as any kind of nurse.
Q: If you have a felony on your record for embezzlement of federal funds is it still possible to obtain your LPN?
A friend of mine was recently charged with embezzlement of federal funds. She just finished the LPN program and is trying to obtain her license but is having difficulty. Does anyone know the laws around this if she is convicted of a felony?
I hate to hear so many be judgemental. This person has NOT been convicted of a crime, she has been charged. She is not a repeat offender she has never even had a speeding ticket in her life. She is also the type of person that we could come up with 100+ character witnesses if needed. This is a simple question about a license, not whether or not she can be hired after obtaining one. She has already been offered 3 jobs pending her license #. And these are from employers that know her legal standing at this time. These employers have offered her employment without her even applying. One being to care for a 10 year old boy on 24/7 resperator and feeding tubes. His parents want her and so does he.
A: Each applicant is evaluated on a case by case basis. The Board of Nursing considers the nature, severity, and recency of the offense, as well as rehabilitative efforts and other factors. The Board cannot make a determination for approval or denial of licensure until the entire application and supporting documentation is received and reviewed.
The Board of Nursing strongly encourages all individuals with a criminal or disciplinary history to be fully prepared with information regarding their background and to start the application process as soon as you can.
So I guess you still can get it.
Q: are there any accredited on-line Lpn programs?

Q: LPN/LVN programs in Texas & Connecticut?
If I take a training program and get registered as an LPN/LVN in the state of Texas will I be able to eventually move to Connecticut and work there or I will have to go through another program?
Thanks for your help!!
A: You have to make sure that the program is nationally accredited, because if it isn't it will only be good for you to work in texas.
