Q: Does Dish Network have a channel for fitness or aerobic exercise programs?
Looking for something I can exercise to in the morning.

A: Try the Lil Jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezris

Q: What are some good/motivational/effective exercise programs?
I am being very honest here so don't shoot me...I am not a big fan of exercise but I do need to lose weight so that I can become healthier (and have the perks of nice fitting clothes, etc.). I don't want to use the I work to much and don't have a lot of time excuse anymore so i am looking for exercise dvd's or classes or a gym (that is not too much $ and in Nashville, TN) that is fun and motivating as well as beneficial. Anyone have suggestion?

A: I have been doing the Hip Hop Abs DVDs. These are so much fun.

Q: How can I do better exercise programs?
Loosing those flab abs

A: I don't think exercise can help you? even abs exercise has nothing to do with that, because thats fat already unless you undergo surgery. Abs exercise can turn your abs fats in to muscles and it will be hard for you to move quick. My advice for you is to balance the shape of your body, to make the flab abs not so visible , why not gain more pounds to even the abs to other parts of your body? especially if you will look better by gaining weight.. For me almost all people look better when they're a little chubby than a thin one. That's what i can advice you. My mum went to a gym she's thin but has flob ab, but exercise didnt work. Instead she tried to gain more weight to have a nice figure but at the same time she's still exercise to maintain her good health. Also after meal dont drink cold water/juice right after you eat, that makes your abs bigger, just drink a lukewarm water. And dont sit right after your meal, just stand for an hour i think. Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Q: good, free exercise programs on the internet?
I am 16 years old and I want to get into shape for summer and fall sports. I have really bad stamina and I need an exercise program that can help me with both stamina and toning. Since it is swimsuit season afterall! Anwsers would be highly appreciated! thanks

A: The American College of Sports Medicine offers guidelines for cardiovascular, flexibility and resistance training. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow you to pick your own exercises but have enough structure to get you going when you first start out. They are pretty easy to follow and will make your workout easier and more efficient. Q: what exercise programs worked best for you in the comfort of your home?

A: Yoga and pilates. There's dvd's available and you don't need much for equipment or floor space. Plus, they're very comprehensive, meaning you can work all your body parts.

Q: What's a good exercise program to stay curvy but fit?
I am curvy and like it but also want to be fit. I know of many exercise programs but it seems like the goal of these programs is for you to be toned and ripped. I still want to be soft but healthier. Links, articles, recommendations anything is helpful but keep it positive. Thank you.

A: Windsor palates. It doesn't make you ripped. And it wont make you toned if you do it twice a week. Be proud of those curves

Q: What exercises or exercise program can I follow at home to overall tone my body?
I do need to lose some weight, (about 10 lbs) but I really need to tone my muscles overall. I think I can manage the weight loss, but I really need some direction on how to proceed with an exercise plan. I've seen several video programs available, namely Slim in 6, bit I'd rather invest in workout equipment, such as balls, elastic tubes, etc. instead of videos. I just need to know what to buy and how to use them. I would really like some specific suggestions, and some good web links would be great! Also, we already have a set of free weights and a treadmill that my husband uses. But I don't want to build bulk!

A: Here is a workout that you can do with a pair of dumbells and an exercise ball. http://www.spartafit.com/exercise/home%20workout.php Also, even most men have a hard time become overly muscular and they have much more testosterone (the body's steroid) than an average woman will ever have. In other words, you do not need to worry.

Q: How do you get your self to stay on a exercise program?
I am A average weight person who looks fairly well but want to tone up an feel fit but I cant seem to get the staying power to keep up my exercise programs how do I beat this lazy habbit, if I do it strait for 2 weeks max I stop by the next week!!

A: good question that I answer from own experience ( I am a lazy person lol). I do several exercises 30-50 min/5 days per week, since 1,5 month. Sometimes it is indeed hard to get my b*** form the couch.. So I have started walking ... THIS can be a real habit - my body needs it ! So I walk, either 30 min. + 30 exercies at home, or just walking 60 min. After 1,5 month, it is a habit now...

Q: Why will/wont this exercise program give me a six pack? What could I do to improve my exercise program?
I just turned 15 and I do 3 sets of 20 crunches and 20 leg lifts every day, have been doing this for a month or so. I eat 4-5 meals a day no unhealthy stuff just healthy like meat and vegtables/fruits. I exercise almost every day for about 30-60 min. Will this give me a six pack? When will I get one if I continue this program?

A: Strengthen your abdominal muscles and lose body fat. You can have the most toned and defined abs but they won't show through if there's a normal layer of fat over them. To build muscle, do sit-ups, crunches, leg lifts, jackknife sit-ups, V-ups, and planks. Make sure you train your oblique muscles- a lot of people forget those. You should also lift weights. The more muscle your body has, the more calories your body burns, even at rest. Many people are afraid of getting huge due to weight lifting, but the huge body-builders out there have been body-building for years to get that way. Since you want your abs to show, you should be eating fewer calories that you burn, and your body can't build a large amount of muscle without excess calories, so you shouldn't have to worry about this potential problem at all. If you just do cardiovascular exercises without lifting weights then you will be weak and it will take longer to lose that fat. So, to get rid of that fat quickly lift weights combined with cardiovascular exercises. Running, biking, swimming, stair climbing, jumping rope, tennis, volleyball, dancing, martial arts or any other activity that keeps you moving is a great way to burn fat. However, a cardiovascular workout should be performed for at least 20 to 30 minutes straight. Prior to this your body will simply run on its stored energy, which results in minimal fat loss. Cardiovascular training should always be done after your weight lifting workout. While lifting weights, you use stored, (carbohydrate) energy, thus, by performing cardiovascular exercises after weight training your body will have less stored energy to use and go straight into the fat storage for its energy use. Some think the best way to shed fat fast is to do cardiovascular exercises right when you wake up. The theory is that your body will search for energy to use, and when it finds nothing in your stomach, it will go directly to your fat reserves for energy. Others say that the first thing you should do in the morning is eat, to get your metabolism going earlier. Every meal you eat should include lean protein. Cut down on the size of your portions. If you're hungry, snack on fruits or other low calorie snacks. Large dinners tend to hurt a fat loss process because most people aren't very active after dinner. This is the basis for advice along the lines of "don't eat anything within N hours before going to bed". The claim that your entire dinner is stored as fat isn't entirely true (the process is more complicated than that) but the fact you don't move after dinner is enough to hurt your cause. You can offset this by eating a larger lunch or snacking healthily before dinner. Fresh fruits or vegetables are excellent choices for curbing appetite not to mention other health benefits. A handful of nuts might do the same. Drink a large glass of water before sitting at the table. Eat More Fiber. Most people don't get enough fiber. The recommended amount is actually not that much if you eat a healthy diet. "Fiber foods" include whole grains (white bread simply won't cut it) , fruits and vegetables, and nuts and seeds. Motivation is key. If your motivation source is purely the result, you will not last very long. It's important to enjoy the exercise, the immediate and long term benefits and to incorporate enjoyable activities into your exercise routine. It may help to use a record-keeper or plan book for your exercise program. Exercise journals are fantastic for this purpose because as you enter daily information in the journal, you're putting together a complete record that can be referred back to in the future. If you are already skinny, but simply don't have the abdominal muscle that you want, passively exercising while doing other things can help a great deal. If you spend a long time in a sitting position, try continuously clenching your stomach. Get in the habit of doing this for hours at a time and you may be surprised at its effectiveness. Look up "Red Fraction" by MELL. I listen to this whenever I exercise. Its the best. I didn't like it at fist, but now I can't help but want to train when I hear it. Q: Is it safe to start an exercise program while trying to get pregnant?
I am trying to conceive for the first time. I have heard that it is safe to exercise during pregnancy, and may even help with endurance during labor. I am looking start a regular exercise routine now, and am currently trying to conceive (may even be pregnant now). I have exercised in the past, but haven't done so regularly for about 6 months. Is it safe to start taking aerobics/step classes and swimming at the local YMCA? Is weight lifting allowed, I wanted to start and body conditioning class? I've been told that heavy lifting can lead to miscarriage. They don't have any programs designed for pregnant women. Any advice or suggestions?

A: This is what I did around your age b/c I was a cheerleader I had to stay in shape. make a fitness calender everyday right what you do everyday. What u should do is get a yoga tape or any tape you are interested in. Start by stretching each part of your body and count to 30 and when done stretching start the tape. Try not to drink so much water b/c you can gain water weight. when finished run in place and time yourself for 3 min. Do not pass up eating!!! when you are hungry eat a small portion until you are full. U should get fit in no time

Q: Does anyone know of any free or low cost exercise programs in allentown, pa?

A: Not specifically Allentown, but Sparkpeople.com is free. It's always low cost to put on some gym shoes and start walking. Start off with what you can do, then add 5 minutes. When that is not a problem, add 5 more.

Q: Can any of you suggest an easy exercise program for those with poor stamina and physical strength?
I'm trying to lose a few pounds and eat healthier, but I'm having a difficult time finding an exercise program I'm able to do. I don 't have really good stamina or energy, and not a lot of physical strength. Are there any exercises or workouts that someone like me can easily do to lose a few pounds?

A: swimming is execellent exercise and it won't put any strain on your bones. if you can't swim, just exercising in the pool will definitely help.
