Q: Is there any institute in Texas offering offering character education programs? ?
Every one said that my child need character education, i don't know he always tease others... help me out here!!
A: We do not often think of character as having such a direct effect on our successes or failures. But when we break character down and consider the individual qualities that together make up character, we can easily see that it is true that Character Determines Success.

Q: African Americans in Education programs?
This question is specifically for African Americans/ black Americans in (or who have been in) teacher education programs in the US. Have you experienced racism, prejudice, or anything else that made you feel uncomfortable from your mentors, professors, advisors. or lead classroom teachers? What were your experiences?
A: As a teaching assistant at an "elite" US college, for many of my white professors and colleagues, I was the first black person they ever interacted with. And the majority of them were ill at ease with me because of my race. This was plainly evident.
They were astonishingly socially ignorant.

Q: sex education programs should teach abstinence only or should they teach about safe sex?and why?
i need to get really good opinions because its like a debate on this issue and wheather sex education program should teach abstinence only or safe sex.please be realistic
A: I think they should teach that being abstinent should be the teen's first choice but if he/she decides to disregard being abstinent, and is going to have sex, that they should use a condom or another type of birth control. So I guess they should teach both.

and what are some good colleges if you want to become a teacher?
A: First you might want to consider what state you want to teach in. Because most education programs certify you to teach in that state. Its not a huge deal to get a certification if you move states but save yourself the trouble.

Q: Are there any grant programs for higher education of someone over 50 years old?
After attending a state college after graduating high school in 1968, my higher education is out-of-date. Online schools do not interest me. Computers didn't exist when I received my "traditional" education. I am a healthy, creative, ambitious man, wishing to pursue a degree and career at age 57. My family lived to ripe old ages: Dad (94), his sister(96), and their mother (91). Thank you. It is time to start the second half of my productive life.
A: Maybe not a grant program, but many schools have scholarship programs that might be appropriate. Best of luck!
Q: What are some ways to prevent rape (programs, education, ect.) and what has been tried?
A: Sorry girl... As horrible as this will sound... There is absolutely no way to "prevent" rape. Rape is an action derived from many mental problems, dominance and power to a way of defilement and sadism for instance. These are psychological problems that can not be corrected on a large or small scale due to the fact the every one is different. If we were all equally matched physically with the exact skills. Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done to prevent.... You can help make people aware on how to protect yourselves and how to recognize unsafe situations(such as in date rape cases) and that is the only thing that could eventually lower the sex crime statistics. I guess in a nut shell... if you cant prevent...prepare.
Q: From the perspective of early childhood education programs, why should kids not have a TV in their bedroom?
A: As a (younger) kid, I'm sixteen now, I always wanted a TV in my bedroom but I really don't anymore. I honestly don't think it matters all that much, if kids want to watch TV they can just walk down the hall to watch it in another room. Some reasons that TVs should not be in bedrooms are because:
The flashing lights keep your mind awake while you're in bed trying to rest causing insomnia later in life.
When a child has a TV in his/her bedroom you have no idea what they're watching.
