A: Ok, here are some that I know of: The Wiggles Playschool Sesame Street (made in U.S.) Thomas the Tank Engine (made in U.K.) that's all I can think of. They're all pretty good standard shows. Google them, and it might lead you to some other shows I don't know of.

Q: If Islam is peace, then why do Muslims allow groups like Hamas to air antisemitic children's programs on TV?
Shouldn't the good people of Islam discourage the media from creating Jihadists with this and other kinds of propaganda? When will the peaceful Muslims stand up and set an example? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvE5K9W6UUk ------------- http://blogs.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/timblair/index.php/dailytelegraph/comments/hassan_chop/

A: to many Muslim children are taught at an early age to the Islamic belief and if they deny that religion then they are thought of as infidels to be killed by that same religion(Islamic).....the instilling of FEAR(fear tactic)

Q: What programs do children of the stars, or stars themselves get their highschool diploma?
I am looking for online highschools that they might of attened.

A: If they are homeschooled? They usually have a private tutor or in the case of actors, many tv sets have classrooms set up on site where the kids are taught by a certified teacher hired by the studio. I know that Will Smith and Jada Pickett Smith use private tutors for their kids.

Q: Why do right-wing people support life IN the womb, but not support programs to help the unwanted children?
I have noticed that although many Republicans are pro-life, (protecting a fetus's right to be born,) these same Republicans also tend to cut funding for or eliminate social programs that would help the very children the pro-life movement protected IN the womb. (because many of these children are poor and served by these programs.) This seems hypocritical; protect the child's life in the womb, then deprive that same child once it is born. Why is this done? It makes no sense to me.

A: They don't support either. It's simply a way to pander to brainless twits that keep voting for them because they think some imaginary being is going to reward them.

Q: Kids of Inmates: Are their any government programs to help to financially support children of federal inmates?
My daughter's father was incarcerated when she was six months old. She is now 11. He will be in prison for life. Are there any programs to help support children of inmates, even if the money will never be paid back? Additional details: I don't qualify for food stamps or anything like that because of my income. I make about 44 thousand dollars a year, and I live in georgia. Let me clarify...she is 11 years old now.

A: I don't think so. It sux that you can't get any help from her father, but it seems as if you've done well for yourself. Good for you!

Q: How do you find out about sports programs for children?
My son will be 4 years old this summer and I'd like to enroll him in soccer, gymnastics, baseball, dance, etc.......something fun!

A: Check out your local recreation center. They have great programs that are affordable and not too competitive for young kids. The YMCA and boys and girls club are also good places to go.

Q: Are there any programs for special children in the Philippines?
I have a brother who is a special child and is currently studying in a SpEd school. We want him to get involved in activities that help these children to interact with other people aside from school. Are there any national or international organizations for them? We are from Cebu City so please do not concentrate more about Manila "chapters" or however you call it. Thanks!

A: ¡Hola! I don´t know but i think so... Go to the school and ask them, it is the best option.

Q: Where can I find a national directory of programs for children who are transitioning to young adulthood?
This list needs to be specifically for the autism and developmental disabilities populations throughout the United States.

A: You would need to contact The Department of Rehabilitative Services for the state you want. There is no list on the web. Programs are handled at the state level and change constantly.

Q: What can we do to get more Americans committed to supporting programs that help children?
UNICEF is working for the survival of children worldwide. What will it take to get Americans behind the cause?

A: Clay, I think a way to get more Americans commited to supporting UNICEF as well as other organizations that help children would simply be to increase awareness. There are a lot of people out there who would help if they knew more about the issue at hand, specifics behind it, and what they could do to help. I myself, recently participated in Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF. I thought it was a great cause and would have done it for years in the past, but the problem was I didn't know about the program, or how much a few cents could do for children in need. Now that I know, I'd be glad to do it again, as would some other classmates that go to the same college I do and now know more about the program. I believe that if more people were aware of what is going on in the world around them that they would be more willing to help. I think that what UNICEF is doing is just great, and I really respect what you and the other ambassadors have done.

Q: Are there any specialty programs for children with Down Syndrome?
Particularly to teach them to speak or learn sign language for the child and their family, inexpensively?

A: Are you in the United States? If so, your child should automatically be a client of Regional Center. Regional Centers have clients of all ages with developmental disabilities. These disabilities can be something the child is born with (such as Down Syndrome) or something that is acquired, such as a brain injury. Regional Centers place children in programs that teach speech/sign, daily living skills, etc. If your child is 3 years old or older, take him/her to your local school -- where the kids in your neighborhood attend -- and ask for an evaluation. Your child will automatically qualify for services based on his/her diagnosis, but there are still tests and observations that must be done prior to school entry. Once the child is 3 years old, the public schools are responsible for his/her education until age 22 (for Down Syndrome). Your child will have an IEP (Individual Education Program) which will outline all of the services he/she qualifies for and will receive BY LAW and the goals that are appropriate. The laws I have mentioned are federal laws and they apply to all children in the U.S. regardless of age, income, disability, race, sex...etc. The services the public school provides are free of charge and you, as the parent, are entitled to call an IEP meeting whenever you want one. Check out these websites. I hope they help! http://www.coping.org/specialed/laws.htm http://www.scn.org/~bk269/94-142.html

Q: Is it fair to provide antisubstance abuse programs when children are still starving?
Alcoholics and drugs abusers are repeat offenders , who seldom change. Why risk that charity on them while there are innocents suffering or people who really need it I think it is better to lock them up or ban them from society

A: The truth is the programs don't work for abusers. They learn how to use them to their advantage, our state programs just milk every dollar a person may have to attend classes and pay the court cost while the meet others at meetings and cook up new deals. I know because my brother lived with us for several months, no license so I drove him about 35 miles for all the meetings and watched all this happen. His son does drugs and sells as well and he uses the system to stay out of jail. You know go to meetings pay up( sell drugs to pay) and now you don't have to go to jail.It is a now win situation so I say lets give free lunches to all school children and offer an evening meal as well for kids and parents if they need it, yes at school, hire new people for the cafeteria evening shift. Let the druggies and all fin for themselves. I am sick of it all.

Q: What television programs that children watch today might foster inappropriate behavior?

A: all of them... seriously what ever happened to modesty, and protecting kids innocence? what happened to rugrats, doug, and bugs bunny? my 5 and 6 year old neighbor dont know who bugs bunny is! theyre 5 and 6 and watching high school musical and hannah montana, meant for 8-14 year olds and they dont understand whats going on. yea theyre are some ok shows out there, on discovery kids channel, but kids shouldnt be watching much tv, its not necessary, when they could be doing other things like running around outside, coloring, reading, playing dress up, etc when i was 5 and 6, id come home from school, have a snack, play, eat dinner, and go outside or go for a bike ride with my dad. then id come in watch a LITTLE tv and go to bed why would u expose a 5 year old to the world of complicated relationships, friendships going wrong and dating? why would u let a 12 year old watch degrassi, where they show dildos and discussions about sex with multiple partners? how it did it come down to those sorts of things being sent downward from the 18+ range to the 12 and up range?

Q: What are ways to be more inclusive of children with disabilities into educational/outdoor programs?
I am currently working on creating a curriculum for one of my outdoor education classes to use with children with a wide range of abilities. I am looking for any suggestions or experiences you might have with teaching children who may or may not have disabilities (physical, or learning) together in one group/ program/activity.

A: there are three types of learners - the audio type (learning by hearing) - the visual type (learning by seeing) - the manual type (learning by doing) - find it out and then continue with an adequate speed, one kid comprehends faster than another - and above all discover the positive peculiarity of each individual, tell it to him/her and go on from that point step by step
