Q: Are there any APA Accredited PsyD programs in Michigan?
I was hoping to find an accredited PsyD program in Michigan, or at least in a state near there. Since a PsyD can be obtained at facilities other than a university, how would I go about finding those places?
A: Here is the list of Phd and psyD programs, UI did not see any psyD programs in michigan

Q: Anyone know where I can search for accredited Mental Health and Family/ Marriage Therapist programs?
Is there a website that lists accredited Master's programs in these fields (in the U.S.)?
Thanks : )
A: try aamft.org (american association for marriage and family therapy) and/or apa.org (american psychological association)
i don't think that they list list accredited masters programs, but they list accredited doctoral programs and some of those have masters programs as well so it might be a good starting point
Q: is there any accredited online social work programs?
im looking for an online school that might offer social work undergrad. But all the ones I see are either scams or are not properly accredited to sit for the exam. Does anyone know if there is any or are they all scams?
thanks
It must fall in the cswe accreditation.
Thank you
A: I did a search on the Peterson's site. I chose the online courses advanced search. Selected major: social work. Selected degree: undergrad/bachelor's.
Here's the result:

Q: what are the advantages of graduating from an accredited engineering program?
Can someone with a M.S from a non-accredited program of engineering become P.E?
A: Depends on the state issuing the examination. My guess would be that in most states, no.
Q: non accredited architectural programs? ?
There is a non-accredited Architectural program at Upenn university. I was wondering, what if someone completes at a non accredited program, what would she/he DO to get accredited and take the test?
what is the difference between an accredited and a non accredited program?
Thank you!
A: accreditation is a process by which an outside agency puts a stamp of approval on a program. this certifies that the program meets a particular set of standards.
If your degree is from a non-accredited program, you have ot check with the state licensing agency to see if they will accept it to sit for the exam

Q: What are some websites that will tell which colleges are accredited in radiologic tech. programs??
i'm trying to figure out where to go to college. it's my senior year in highschool and i think i want to go to a community college and transfer later. I want to make sure i'm getting the best education i can get and that the people actually know what they are teaching. thanks for your help.
A: This pdf lists accredited programs.
http://www.jrcert.org/pdfs/annual_04.pdf
First, look to universities/tech schools in your own state.
The costs can be significantly lower. You don't want to start your career with $60,000+ in debt.
Then network with people in the field to see if the place you want to go has a good reputation.
Q: are the Art Institutes online programs accredited in California?
and if you could send me a link, that would be awesome.
A: I'm assuming you are referring to the Art Institutes of California. They are accredited by the ACICS. You can check on accreditation of any school in the U.S. by checking the CHEA website at http://www.chea.org/search/search.asp
Good luck,
Q: What is the source of money that residency programs pay physician trainees?
Is the source the US government?
If yes, what government agency allocates the funds?
Is the money given classified as a grant?
What amount is paid by the government to ACGME accredited programs, per resident trainee, on an annual basis?
A: My guess is that the sources come from both local, state and federal funds.
Q: How do I get my child's schoolwork accredited in the state of Texas?
My child is entering ninth grade, and my neighbor... who has homeschooled all 3 of her children for years... told me that I do not have to have an accredited program, rather, I could send something into the state with grades, etc... and they could accredit it? How so, any websites with info?
Thank-you.
A: In Texas you do not have to have your child's work accredited.
In Texas, homeschool's are considered private school's by law. They are not accredited programs and never will. This is what keeps homeschooling in Texas the best. You have no one you have to answer to.
There are however accredited programs that homeschoolers can use in the state of Texas if they are uncomfortable going without.
Parents issue their own diplomas, and transcripts that most college's accept. So does the US armed forces. Homeschooler's are especially saught after by institutes of higher learning for their diversity and high college entrance test scores.
Q: Is the University of Phonex On line programs Accredited to the same extent as a state university or Syracuse?

Q: Does anyone know of any accredited online Doctorate programs?
A: Phoenix U is accredited
Q: Accredited Ultrasound Programs in Ohio/or Distance Learning?
I finally decided that I want to become a sonographer (more than likely for obstetrics/gynecology. I used to go to OSU until I got pregnant and at the time the program wasnt offered. Now they offer a program but i would like to switch to another school for different reasons. Does anybody know where i can find a list of accredited schools or know of a school that offers a program in which I can become a sonographer? The closer to Columbus, the better. I've also read something about an accredited school in Michigan that offers online courses for this (they supposedly hook you up with somebody local for the hands on part). Does anybody know which college this is or of any others that do something similar? All help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks so much for the information. I know that it is more than just scanning pregnant woman but i really wasn't sure on how the whole schooling route went. I had seen lots of ppl say they did the radiology route first (which works out better for me because more schools offer that, including the community college in columbus) but wasnt sure what was preferred and things like that. Also one thing I was wondering, how much math is actually involved on a daily basis and is it really complicated physics? I have taken Physics (not yet in college though) and I have taken math up to Calculus so the math isn't a problem for me... but I was just curious as to how much of what you learn is actually used?
A: When thinking about entering an ultrasound program, you need not be concerned so much about certificate vs. degree. What is important is that you go to an ACCREDITED program, whether it is college or hospital based. An accredited program allows you to take your registry (licensing) exams upon graduation. Once you get licensed, you will never be asked about your schooling again. An employer does not care what route you take to get licensed, they just want you to have that license.
Don't waste your time or money on a NON-accredited program. Upon completion and graduation from a NON-accredited program, you must work in the field of sonography for a full year prior to taking your licensing examinations. But, you will have a hard time finding an employer to hire you, unless you are licensed.
I would suggest you observe an imaging department to get an idea of what ultrasonographers do daily. There is much more to it than scanning pregnant women. Most people have no idea how much is involved in this career!
You can find a list of accredited schools in your area, by searching "diagnostic medical sonography" and your state at the following site. There are links provided for each program, which will give you additional information (including course duration):
http://www.caahep.org/Find_An_Accredited_Program.aspx
There are nine accredited ultrasound programs in Ohio, but I am unsure how close they are to Columbus.
Many people, myself included, go to school to become a radiologic technologist, before continuing to ultrasound school. In fact, it can be difficult to get into u/s school without the RT license. There are many more choices for schools for x-ray in most states. You can find them here, by searching “radiography“ and your state:
http://www.jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp
The pay for ultrasound technologists will vary, depending on experience and geographical location. The American Society of Radiologic Technologists just did a large salary survey, in 2007. You can see how much a RT and/or ultrasound technologist averaged, per year, in your state here:

Q: What if the grad school I want to go to is accredited but the program I want to enroll is is not? ?
It is a counseling program. The university has accreditation but the program does not. How will employers view this? I will still be able to take the exam and get my licensure b/c the university is accredited.
A: I wouldn't recommend it. Most likely you will not be qualified to take the exam if an accredited degree is required. As for employers, if licensure is not required for the job, they may or may not consider the accreditation of a degree program. Not all employers are stringent on the accreditation. Also, if you plan to further your education, your graduate degree may not be accepted towards your admission criteria.
Best wishes!
Q: Accredited Dental Hygiene Programs?
Does anyone know of nay accredited dental hygiene programs in Ontario...not at a community college....
if you become an accredited dental hygienist in ontario can you work in other provinces? do you need to pass an exam/accredition in the province as well?
A: http://cdho.org/Registration/EducationalInstitutes.pdf
The above is from the CDHO (College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario) our regulatory body in Ontario. Be aware that the community college programs are subsidized by the government and consequently very much less expensive than the programs offered by the private colleges.
Also please be aware that all the schools in and around Toronto have been graduating hundreds of hygienists and there is now a shortage of jobs out there. It is very rare to find full time work in one office and even part time is extremely hard to come by even for those with many years experience. Therefore having taken out loans etc. for your education you may not find a job that will allow you to pay them back!
