Q: What are the requirements to get into St. John's university accounting program as a transfer student?
Transfering from a community college and i love this school after visiting it a few times. Just would like to know the gpa and classes needed for a proper transfer into the program. By the way i am completing my a.s. this year and should be expecting a transfer by spring 09. Link's are very much appreciated as well. Let me know. THANKS!

A: It varies from major to major. Generally, 3.2 or higher you are usually in good shape. There usually are transfer fairs held in both the fall and summer so you may want to contact the Admissions office on Tuesday (they are closed Monday) and ask to speak to a admission representative (718)990-2000. Q: How long does an accounting program take to complete. Just the program not the entire university years.?

A: Most college majors require 60 credit hours for the major. So that is about 2 years. But you can not just do the credits for the major only to get a Bachelors degree. You must complete all electives and gen ed classes.

Q: Will CSULA accept students for their accounting program if…?
I don't have all my General Ed classes completed? I mean I only have one more math course before my GE is complete, and I want to go to Cal State Los Angeles for accounting and I read on their website that they have an accounting certificate program. Everytime I call the school they are not really helpful and they can't wait to get me off the phone. Is there anyone who knows something about this?

A: Okay, this is how I read it. The certificate program is for people who either already have a bachelors degree in something else, or who have been accepted at CSULA for another major, and who want the certificate in accounting on top of that other major. So if accounting is the primary thing you want to study, you should go for the Bachelors degree in Business Administration with the Accounting Option instead. Now, as far as your GE goes, it depends on whether you will be transferring with 60 units or more, or with less than 60 units. If you have less than 60 units, you can transfer with just the required high school college prep classes, but if you have 60 units or more, you need to have completed the math with a C or better before you enroll. A: There is several programs out there, Quickbooks Pro I have used and liked. What ever program you choose, get an external hard drive and store the information on that and a rewritable cd, just in case the computer crashes.

I have a small longarm machine quilting business. At the present time I use Excel to generate invoices and keep a simple customer database.

A: I started a small business a year ago and I use Quickbooks, it is so simple and if you need anything you can call them and talk to a live person, which will help you through it all.

A: As far as I know, the shortest duration with effective coaching for Accounting Technician diploma program is 36 weeks. A: For an undergraduate degree, you don't need to worry about getting accepted into any particular major field of study. People do this and you don't have to be "accepted" to declare a major. What you need to worry about is the admissions requirements to that particular school. Here is the link.

I was wondering if anyone had a list, or knew where I could find a list of some reputable, regionally accredited universities that offer their BS of accounting in an online format? A: Here is a list of online colleges. If you would like some help I am an enrollment counselor with a university that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the Northwest Association. Same accreditation as Harvard, and ASU.

With only a bachelors, not a masters.

A: It really depends on what state university you go to (some state universities have better accounting programs than others and large accounting firms know that). It also depends on A LOT of luck and who you know. But, if you manage to get a job in this crumby economy, I would say ~$40,000.

A: ACCA, however it is not easy to pass that either, accounting is never easy.

A: Getting a masters in accounting opens up a lot of doors. It just depends on which door you want to open for you. Think about what company or type of company you want to work for after you graduate then ask each school how many of its graduates that company has hired. You've been accepted in schools across the country. So the best accounting program would be the one closest to where you want to live after you graduate. Business school is only two years so you'll be interviewing less than six months after you get there. Most companies don't travel to far to recruit for the schools you listed. And if the company you want to work for doesn't recruit on campus you want to close enough to them for informational interviews.
