Q: I live in Serbia and I am disabled. I would like to study online for a Psychology Degree - Where can I do this?
I found lots of places online where I can study for a Psychology degree but I haven't been able to find any that are available for my country. Does anyone know a place where I can study for a Psychology degree that allows my country?

A: There are a lot fields within the School of Psychology. If you could narrow the topic down it would help to pick a school. Are you into clinical psychology, experimental psychology, or Social psychology? Here is a place to go for help:

Q: Would an online degree for Psychology be as accredited and recognized as a normal unieversity degree?
I'm contemplating doing my Junior and Senior year all online. I've gone to some pretty intersting sites but I wondered would those degree's be a respected as the ones I'd get at a university. What would be the pros and cons?

A: As long as it is from a regionally accredited university but I would suggest against psychology unless you want to become a social worker or help out in that type of field. If you want to become a shrink, get your masters as well. Pro: You do your classes as you want to do so. You are in charge of your work. You don't have to drive to a campus. Con: It's going to cost you out the butt Psychology is only good for social work. The only other thing is unless your degree literally states blah blah online university. You don't have to list it on your resume as an online university.

Q: Psychology Degree Online?
I am going for my Masters Degree in Psychology but first need my Bachelors. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good/reputable colleges that offer this? I don't want to get scammed. I am looking for sucess and horror stories. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ~NEO

A: I've research lots on online universities. Many of them are expensive. But the two quality schools I have found that are not quite as expensive as the rest and are regionally accredited are: Ashford University www.ashford.edu Offers an online bachelors degree in Psychology. North Central University www.ncu.edu Offers bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in Psychology. I'm currently a student at Ashford University Online, earning a bachelors in Psychology. I love the online experience because it saves commuting time, and you study at a pace that is comfortable for you without competing with the other students. At the same time, you have the support of your classmates and professors via the internet when you need them. My recommendations are: Stay disciplined and stick to a schedule, as it is easy to get behind on your studies when other things want to grab your attention. Get the support of family and friends, because quiet time and consideration will be needed from them when studying. Take advantage of as many grants/loans and scholarship opportunities as you can. I wish you the very best!

Q: what is the best school to get an online psychology graduate degree?

A: Cappella offers an accredited online psychology degree.

Q: i want to get a doctorate degree in psychology online, how much it cost? and what are the best schools ?

A: The price and requirements will vary according to how large the school is and how well know. A Doctorate from an unknown online school, may not have much credibility. I would look up "higher eduction" or the names of some schools. Get several brochures and lots of information before you make your decision. Also, call some of the major universities and see if they can recommend some. There are many out there that will let you basically "Buy A Degree" but you will not have a quality education and they will not be cheap either. It is not normally much cheaper to take classes online than it is in the classroom. It is just a lot of off the wall colleges offer an easy way to get a degree. As far as doctorate degree, I am sure it would be much more difficult and very expensive. Maybe you could consider taking some of the basics online and the others at night (if you cannot go during the day) at your local college. You can earn credits a both schools. Just make sure they will transfer to the school you want to earn your degree from.

Q: Is it possible to get into grad school with an online bachelors degree in Psychology?
I'm guessing the answer is no or not likely but I can't seem to find anything on the internet to answer this question.

A: Yes, but your undergraduate school must be regionally accredited, if not accredited than all your undergrad courses will not count for anything. Also your GPA must be at least a 2.9 and you have to do well on the GMAT Exam.

Q: doctorate degree psychology online cambridge university UK study with Professor Cohen on autism?
I would like to study with Dr. Cohen at Cambridge U. in UK to obtain a doctorate in developmental psychology with emphasis on autism

A: As people have said, you need to contact him - not least 'cos you need to know whether he has any funding on the horizon for new projects, and if so whether any of those projects sound interesting to you - there's not much point starting a PhD that you don't find interesting, 'cos you'll need plenty of motivation if you're going to last to the end :) I can't remember what the drop-out rate is for PhDs here in the UK, but it's somewhere around 40% that haven't finished by the end of their 5 years. He may be able to offer money from a "general" departmental fund for a research project you come up with yourself, although clearly he'd have to think it was worthwhile too. Finally, if you're not expecting to start for at least 6 months you may be able to submit a research proposal with him for a project you (i.e. both of you, or more realistically "he", with you giving input) think up. Sometimes you can do it as a combination too, i.e. take funding from a generic budget for the first year and hope to get your own funding for the rest of the project. Also have a look on his website - some lecturers list potential project titles there, which should give you an idea of whether you're likely to find anything interesting to do. Does it have to be that one Prof specifically? What about other lecturers in his research group? While we had some truly excellent profs at my uni, the best supervisors were usually the ones who didn't have a million other things to do in addition to dealing with their students. Still, the main thing is you need to contact him. After all, one of his ongoing jobs is to acquire new postgrad students to do research for his group so he'll probably be more than happy to talk to you.

Q: "Online" Clinical Psychology Degree?
I am interested in becoming a clinical psychologist and while i doubt i will do it online (there is a university not too far that would fit me perfectly), i do wonder about people's perception of earning a PsyD in clinical psychology online. I have read a lot of questions and answers about people taking the online route, usually at Capella or Walden, and many of the responders always say "you can't learn clinical psychology online! It is too hands on of a career to learn it online. There is no way you could do it" and so forth. However, i often wonder, when people make such statements about clinical programs online, like Capella, do they realize it is mostly in person training? I actually know someone who earned their PsyD from Capella in clinical and we figured out he spent only about 35-40% of his time "online", the rest of his training was in person. Do most realize this about online psychology doctorates or is there blind discrimination for them?

A: On-line will no be recognized by the APA or licensing boards. Don't waste your time and money.

Q: Could I major in psychology for my Bachelor's degree and get a Masters in Anthropology?
I'm interested in psychology, sociology, and anthropology. I was considering getting a bachelors degree in psychology online and a Masters degree in anthropology at some university. Is that possible or must I have a Bachelors in Anthropology in order to get a Masters in it?

A: Yes you can. However what you propose will not lead to a job. You need a doctorate in these fields to get an actual job and even at that your odds are only 50:50.

Q: Is a psychology degree obtained online, just as good as a local university??

A: It can be, but be careful of the on-line university you choose. Here is a website for an on-line university that is very well recognized in Canada.

Q: Is getting a master degree in psychology required just a bachelor degree in psychology or certain classes?
Does applying for Master degree in psychology requires classes like when we transfer classes from community college to university?. for example, say i had my bachelor degree in psychology in the University of A, then i applied for Master degree in psychology online in the University of B. will i be asked to complete more classes to satisfy classes requirements in the University of B? Or having just a bachelor degree in psychology from any university is enough to apply for Master in psychology?

A: This is all dependent on what the requirements are for the university you are applying to; however most often than not, if you completed a B.A. in Psych, you should have all the core requirements completed for a M.A. Usually, most M.A. programs seek that applicants have completed an introductory course, a research methods course, and a into statistics course. If you got your B.A. in psychology, then you've obviously completed these courses. There are many instances in which you can be "conditionally" accepted into a program, meaning that you are accepted, however you are missing a requirement and must complete that requirement within a certain amount of time. Again, it all depends on the program. My advice to you is to look at the requirements for each school you plan to apply to.
