Q: Are online degrees "respected" by potential employers?
I am wanting to persue a career as a paralegal. I feel right now is the best time for me. I have been wanting to do this for about 4yrs now. The online option is all I have right now, without a drivers lisence on campus classes are not possible. I guess my question is, Will law firms, and attorneys look at a degree from an online education as credible knowledge as they would a tradional degree?
A: Nope..........
Q: any online schools that offer secondary educations degrees?
Are there any accredited online schools that offer degrees in Secondary English Education? Bachelor degrees, no MA's of PhD's.
A: May be this site can help you
http://www.sgpak.com
Q: Are there any online universities for Elementary Education Degree in NY?
Are there any online universities for Elementary Education Degree in NY?
A: None that I know about. YOu probably could take some classes online but not the whole degree. NY certification to become a teacher is one of the most stringent in the US. Teachers trained in NY can work anywhere but if you trained in another state it is hard to get certified in NYS.
Q: are there any ligit online colleges that offer bachelors degrees in education?
i can't find any and didn't know if they existed. When I search the sites it says they do but when I fill out the application for some reason it says graduates program
A: There may be. But be sure to check with the licensing board in your state. Some boards do not accept online courses in your particular field. If this is the case, you will have the education, but ineligible to be licensed to teach in your state.
Q: are jobs accepting online degrees as real education?
A: I know the answer. Yes, as long as the school is accredited. As far as the other person says that it is too easy to cheat. NO! I am doing this degree online. It is not my first. Well, before you do a test you put in your social and all other information. THe test starts and is timed. You cannot go back and change the answers nor can you take too long or it will be marked incorrect. Also, If you try to pull up a website during the test. The test will shut down and you will recieve a 0> Next some schools are starting to do a typing imprint. Meaning for the first couple of days, you do typing only. If your typing pattern is off during one of your test. The test halts, and you will have to enter a series of codes that only you should have to complete each question. It is much harder to do your degree online. I have had both sides. As a HR director myself, I have hired many workers with an accredited degree. So YES< YES< and YES
Q: How much people on employment market trust online education?
I wonder how employers feel about employees with online degree. Are some employers rejecting job applications because of the nature of the degreee(online)?
A: Online degrees are growing in popularity. It will still be a few years before they are at the same level as traditional degrees, but I believe they will get there eventually.
I have heard of a few employers rejecting an application because the only education was an online degree. However, I have heard of others who took the degree at face value. It really depends on the employer.
Q: Teaching Degrees Online??
Will an online education degree (accelerated program for BA/BS) prepare me properly for the teaching field?
A: As you can see by the nature and tone of the replies you've already received, your question was answered in a rather traditional frame of reference with little to no regard to providing you i) hope, ii) encouragement, and iii) some advice on how to make your online experience successful.
I'll give it a shot with my reply.
First, please know my bias (it's my disclosure statement to the traditionalists). As a student I took classes online -at the graduate level. As an instructor, I've developed and delivered classes online -at both the undergrad and graduate level. As a fairly well-educated, well-read, and I like to believe, open-minded adult, there is no doubt in my moind that online education is bona fide ....
And, I may as well get my shot in here to try and provide some salve from the rather inconsiderate shots you've already taken ... if those that claim online education is less than their "education"; that it's as random and cheap as the prize in a Cracker Jack box ; that there's only one way to get a "true" education: that somehow, online education is "less-than" education ... than I pose this: Why in the **** is public education in america so dysfunctional?
It's not the students.
For all the yahoos that completed the traditional gig of getting their degrees and then made their way into policy-making positions, what have you done for education lately?
For all the yahoos that completed the traditional gig of getting their degrees and then made their way into teaching -at any level- from Pre-K through PhD, what have you done -beside lecture- for education lately?
And for all the yahoo educators -at any level in any capacity, that trash online education at all costs ... two questions, i) what exactly do you know [not theorize or ponder] about online education, and ii) what have you done for education lately?
Yes, online education -for that matter, teaching yourself- can and will prepare you properly for the teaching field. The content knowledge of teaching is mainly theory that certainly needs to be learned and then applied -as such, you need the opportunity to be in front of a classroom, or an audience (maybe you're presently a corporate trainer and that certainly provides the opportunity). My point is, that online education cannot be blithely dismissed by anyone ... for some people it is their ONLY opportunity to further their education -and in my book that's a lot more importabt -and productive- than having to say I can't complete my education because I can't get to a classroom.
Good luck -and do it!
Q: What do you think of Online Education?
Im thinking about enrolling in a online university. I would like to know others thoughts, facts and/or opinoins upon the idea of getting your degree online.
A: Depnds on if you are self-motivated or not. Definitely can NOT be a procrastinator and do well. I have taken many classes online as it is the only option for the field I work in and where I live (northern NY and technology) It works for me but not for others.
Getting your degree online....definitely a step in the right directions especially if you can't get to the place (like Pheonix) to take the courses you want.
Good luck!
Q: what do you think of Online-Education? do employee respect it?
do companies repsect online-Education (getting a job)?
when getting a online-degree, will it says on your degree document that it's online education?
A: Online degrees offered by respected, traditional universities generally do not notate that the degree was obtained online--you won't have to mention it, and the employer won't know the difference. However, online diploma mills that only offer education via the internet have never been respected by employers. Just hearing the name of the institution will make their eyes roll into the back of their heads.
Q: What are some good Teaching Colleges that offer classes online?
I want to get my education degree (already have a B.Sc.) but am currently living in a remote northern Canadian town. I would like to investigate some universities, american or preferably Canadian, that offer either part or complete bachelor of Education degrees online. Tips or Recommendations?
A: Take a look at accredited Excelsior College. See https://www.excelsior.edu/portal/page?_pageid=57,1&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
