Q: are there ACCREDITED online Business degrees?
if there is what are some good business schools? there are no campuses close to where i live which is Pike County , PA!! and since im 27 with 2 kids i need to stay within 2 hours of home. I figured maybe there might be a legitimate online degree program for business.

A: Hi there. I currently attend Strayer University and am pursuing a Business degree. You can complete your degree entirely online. They even have a great program that allows you to apply for life experience credits, or credit for non-traditional training you may have taken. I have really been happy with Strayer. They are a fully accredited university in several states including PA (I'm in PA myself). Also Strayer is geared towards adult students, so there are plenty of students who are working jobs, going to school and/or raising their families all at the same time. http://www.strayer.edu Feel free to email me if you have questions. I don't work there or anything. I'm just really happy with my choice!

Q: I worry about reputability of U Phoenix, etc, but I need to get an online business degree. Any suggestions?
I want to get a Bachelor's degree in business, eventually an MBA. However, my work schedule makes it near impossible to take traditional classes. I thought about University of Phoenix, but I worry that I will pay a lot of money to get a degree that is not very reputable. Does anyone have any suggestions? My preference is taking distance ed classes from a traditional university. One in Oregon would be great, but the two big ones do not offer the necessary DE classes.

A: Use the Petersons site to search for online programs in business http://www.petersons.com/continuinged_home.asp?path=ce.home Here's my search result (criteria included Oregon or Washington, four different business related majors and online learning) http://www.petersons.com/ugchannel/code/searches/srchRslt.asp?sponsor=1&searchtype=multicrit&multicrit=y&sortcolumn=CLIENT_CHECK,ISORT&sortorder=

Q: 2 online business management schools for first degrees and diplomas?
Please give a list that excludes (Waldon, VIU). I am looking for schools that offer very good online programs. Please explain why you like the schools that you list.

A: go here: http://www.usnews.com/directories/e-learning/ this site has a list of all the real, traditional colleges that offer online degrees and courses. you definetly want to stay away from any school who's main marketing ploy is that they are an online university. make sure the school is regionally accredited and is not for profit. most online schools like phoenix, walden and kaplan are all for profit universities which means that they are mainly out for your money and not your education.

Q: Will an online certificate in finance or business make me more competitive for jobs I have a BA?
If you already have a bachlors degree do you think online degrees can make huge differences?? I will have a BA in political science in 2 months and i was wondering if getting a finance certificate from an inexpensive online could make a big difference for me in landing a job?

A: If you mean a masters then yes indeed. Its doesn't matter how people are accomplishing their masters these days. All that matters is that the school is accredited. I encourage many folks to go for higher degrees since its more competitive these days. Landing a job is more about fitting into a particular corporate office these days, but credentials help pull for you, too. Networking is powerful and if you can get into an association or a group that will benefit you landing the work you want, its a good thing to join. When I was in college, sororieties and fraternities were a good networking source, but older students usually benefit more from associations and other groups.

Q: what is the best online state university for business degree?
accredited ones for me to check out???

A: I have met one person who used her online degree to qualify for a job - and that was for a tribal college in nowhere, North Dakota. Online degrees have no credibility. Some responsible universities allow students to complete some courses online, but there is a strong on-campus requirement. You are much better off going to the local accredited community college instead of wasting your time and money with those online frauds.

Q: Online Degree in Business Management and Marketing?
I am in the process of looking for a school to get my Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Marketing. It seems that there are many great schools out there. But how do I know I am getting enrolled in the right one? What accreditation do I have to look for? And would it be a good idea to get my bachelors online? For me it would just be easier to do , due to full-time job and children. Any advice would be greatly appreciate it.

A: hi. online degrees do not get the recognition that the conventional universities get. many top employers look at it as an express line education and it may not be too helpful if you want to move up the chain of a reputable company. definitely stay away from univ of phoenix and other schools who openly advertise. remember, there is a reason they have to advertise, know what i mean? find a conventional university that has programs to match ur situation. u will most likely have to resort to part time or even quit ur job and receive financial aid to support urself and ur children. hope this helps and best of luck to you.

Q: Think I could turn an associates degree in business and an online photography course into a decent career?
I hate that you have limited characters to work with for the questions. Anyways, I guess I'm just looking for input on whether this seems like a good combination.

A: A career in what exactly? Journalism? Portraits? Travel/Nature? If your going into business, its good to have some idea of business necessities and practices. Go to work for a studio for a few years. You will learn more about the "photo" business than a junior college and online picture course will teach you.

A: No, and if you can get something online that's cheap all it will do is bring your credibility down. Don't do it.. It'd be better to get a job and than at some point maybe take online classes at like pepperdine or university of phoenix and see if your employer pays part of tuition (many do) and go that route... I wouldn't recommend anything else.

Q: why did Penn State online put me down for an associates degree in business when I wanted one in liberal arts?
I was wanting an associates degree in liberal arts and sciences. I'm hoping one day to become a psychologist not a business major. Anyone have ideas for an online college to study what I want?

A: Welcome to Academia...! I recommend that you check out Coastline Community College. They have wonderful academic counselors who will walk you through the process and you can work on an A.A. degree of your choosing. They are fully accredited and available for degree seeking on-line courses. You can transfer your credits to any other school e.g., Ivy League, if you choose to further your education. BTW, they are the preferred school for the military who can not take classes on campus. I prefer on-line courses because they are a convenient way to learn. You can do your school work to fit YOUR schedule. Enjoy the process!
