Q: Low-cost regionally accredited colleges with online degrees?
what are some low-cost regionally accredited colleges with online degrees?
A: May be this site can help you
http://www.sgpak.com
Q: Is Devry the best accredited online college for degrees?????
I want to get a degree in web graphic design.
On their website they say tuition is cost per credit hour ($515).... and the course is 67 credit hours. So total tuition is 515 X 67 = $34,505????? Wow, that's a lot.
Are there cheaper online colleges with just as good a program?
A: No -- none of the For Profit online schools are respected.
Q: can you tell me where i can find really cheap online degrees which are accredited?
A: It depends entirely upon what you call cheap. I suspect your local state college and local community college system both teach online and will be the "cheapest" you're likely to find.
http://cconline.cerrocoso.edu/programs/ would be an example of a local community college with outstanding fees (locally) and acceptable academics online.
There are thousands of these type programs around the US now - you just have to look around your state and see what's there.
Some states have a single website with all of the online degrees at all of the state schools listed - such as the one in California http://www.cvc.edu/
Q: Any Good Rigorous Accredited Online Colleges?
I travel a lot and I was looking for a rigorous regionally accredited online bachelors degree program in political science or public
administration but lately the colleges I've been finding colleges online seems like a 3rd grader could do blind folded and I plan attend to transfer to a upper scale on campus college for after a year any advice ?
A: The key is to make sure the college/university is accredited. I have three basic recommendations for everyone looking into online/distance education. They all have to do with exploring; after all, you have to defend your assets.
1. Make certain that you have triple checked their accreditation. First, they tell you what it is, then you go to that accrediting body’s website (not through the link provided by the school), and thirdly you would visit the department of education to see what they have to say. Do your diligent research into the institutions once you have narrowed down to a couple. You can look at the Better Business Bureau for more information on the college.
2. You must have extreme self motivation and be able to teach yourself per say. This means that you will not have someone telling you verbally, so it is up to you to get the information from the course room, text, and other resources. The best way to look at it is like a guided independent study course.
3. Review your goals, personal and professional. Make sure that the school that you are going to offers the programs that match your goals. Do not settle. There are many programs that are similar, but you have to make the ultimate decision. Do not let it be based on finances and length of program, but the fact that when you are finished or near finished you will be able to assume your proper place in the career field sought.
You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!
Q: What are some accredited colleges in Illinois that offer online classes/degrees and are reputable?
A: University of Illinois has on-line programs on their SIU, UIUC, UIC campuses, and Governors State has an On-line addiction studies program on the grad level. ISU also has a few, it all depends what you are trying to study.
Q: name some schools that are Regionally accredited and have online degrees?
I want to take ALL of my classes online. sure thats worse than a real in class experiance but its better than nothing at all
A: Almost every major, and most minor, university in the US offers courses online these days. It's just no big deal. Many offer degrees wholly online.
Some of the for-profits (UoP et al) are regionally accredited.
The following well known universities have online classes and they are RA as well.
Harvard, UMass, Boston U, U Fla, Brigham Young, UCLA... in fact, just surf of to University of [your state] and see what they're offering.
It's NOT worse at all -- the research says it's harder and you learn more. Check it out on Google scholar. The only difference in online/classroom is that the online folks miss out on those more important drinking, drugs, and babe/dude social interactions.
How is watching a streamed video of a Hawking lecture on physics "worse" than listening to Tommy Jones the grad assistance deliver a physics lesson?
Q: Do any branches accept online degrees from regionally accredited brick and mortar schools? not for profit...?
I asked a Navy recruiter if they accepted online degrees and he said no that there has to be a in house residency requirement met. Is this the same for all branches and how can they discriminate if the diploma looks the same as the next person? I was thinking of doing a program with Bellevue university in computers and getting into a Information Warfare program.
I am a prior enlisted navy corpsman trying to get into IT. The position I inquired about is for an officer position. I know that would make it more competitive but I don't think they should force people to go to study at campus especially as a adult learner after serving many years with the Navy. How is it realistic for an enlisted service member whos on active duty go to school at campus? So their saying that their enlisted will never become officers unless they get accepted to some special program where they get to go to university while still enlisted... the chances aren't that good... so I guess the only way is to get out to do the campus thing, but they never want you to leave and insist you stay in while you finish school. This is one of the many reasons is so hard for an enlisted member to cross to officer. They label us from the beginning. Not everyone has parents that pay for their kids to go to school.
A: The recruiter is likely wrong - find another one who knows what he's talking about. Very, very many military personnel have earned their degrees online or by distance. It also doesn't have to be regionally accredited - the Dept of Defense recognizes all accreditors recognized by the US Dept. of Education.
The Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON Campo) has his degree from Excelsior College. Excelsior College has no residency requirement. http://www.navy.mil/navydata/bios/navybio.asp?bioID=346
Further, how would they know if it was online or not? That's not a question on the forms and the diploma and transcripts don't say.
I think the recruiter you talked with is a touch confused.
Add: I think you're missing part of what you're being told. There are only a few ways to achieve a commission. Simply having a bachelor's degree isn't one of them - very many enlisted people have a bachelor's degree these days and I can show you one Navy unit where many enlisted people have a doctorate (look at the bio page of the Navy Band).
To get a commission you need to 1) go to the academy 2) go through ROTC 3) be direct appointed because you have a professional specialty (doctor, lawyer, preacher...) or 4) go to OCS. As an enlisted person, you could have gone to OCS if you qualified. Some people are able to enlist and then go to OCS but they must be highly qualified.
If you want to go back to college and have that experience result in a commission then you'll need to look at an ROTC program - they don't do those online. An alternative is to get your degree in one of the professions and then apply for a direct commission. That would mean getting the bachelor's degree and then going to professional school.
They aren't being unfair in the slightest here - you have four options for going after a commission but you're more than welcome to get a degree at Bellevue and remain enlisted.
Q: Are online Degrees viewed as prestigious? Are Online Universities accredited? Any information will help.?
A: Where prestige is concerned, individuals may still look down on people with online degrees, but companies are starting realize that people with online degrees aren't that different from those with traditional degrees. I think where you got your degree doesn't matter, as long as you know what your stuff. I know lots of people that spent 4 years in college and came out knowing nothing.
A lot of them aren't accredited. Basically anyone with a website can say they're running an online university. However, some of them are actually just as good or better than traditional universities. You just have to do your research and make sure the one you choose is accredited. Find out what agency gave them their accreditation, what other schools are accredited by agency, make sure the education officials in the state where their home office is based has actually heard about them. Basically, cover all your bases.
The one I keep hearing about and seeing around is the University of Phoenix, so you might want to check them out. Maybe by doing some research on them might give you info on other online universities.
Also, many traditional universities are starting to catch on and are offering online classes, so you might want to chech that out as well.
Q: Any accredited colleges out there that allow online degrees?
i'm trying to go for something in Medical Coding/Billing, but I don't want to physically go to a campus b/c I won't have anyone to watch my son while I'm in school. Does anyone know of any accredited colleges(preferably any in New York or Atlanta, GA) that offer strictly online college courses for that field or anything else??
A: I don't know of any colleges in those two states that would offer that, but I think that Northcentral Technical College, based in Wausau, WI, has that program online.
I wouldn't recommend it because you probably will learn more by having face-to-face contact with the teacher(s) and other students. This helps because you can listen to the questions the other students ask and you can get an answer right away for any questions you may have. I hear that online classes have a tendency to be frustrating.
Good luck in finding a college that fits your needs. Have you tried looking at the websites for your local college(s)?
Q: Please, which university is an online accredited university that is recognised?
And its accredited degree can be used anywhere in the world.
A: Obviously, some people here need a little lesson on accreditation. Check the accreditation claims on the school website. Then check the website of the accreditor. Then check the websites of the U. S. Department of Education http://www.ed.gov and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation http://www.chea.org to see if either or both of these organizations recognizes the accreditor. There are many legitimate accredited online schools. You might pick up a copy of Bears' Guide to Earning Degrees by Distance Learning.
Q: Employers: Do you hire people with an online degree from an accredited university?
I am looking at Northern Arizona University (NAU.edu) and Mercy College (mercy.edu) for a Masters in English. Would you hire someone from here considering they are both nationally and regionally accredited? Be honest.
A: a lot depends on that. if you are the best candidate and the company doesn't recruit from universities, yes. more companies are getting away from the stereotype ivy leaguer with perfect grades, and looking for a combination of experience, education and technical savvy. good luck.
Q: Why do people think online college degrees are worthless?
I mean, I go to a state university(think UofI, penn state), it's regionally accredited, and my degree diploma won't say anything about online degree, plus I'll be graduating in person with everyone else. So how can people say getting an online degree is worthless and just a scam? I agree, there are scams and diploma mills, and even Univ. of Phoenix seems a little bit like a scam, but I go to a university that was found over 100 years ago, and has a campus of 10,000+ students.
smoke, did you miss everything I said? You aren't very intelligent are you. Nobody's gonna know my degree is online cause I'm studying the exact same material as everyone else in my school. You...are...dumb
Some of you are missing what I'm saying...
MY DEGREE WILL SAY NOTHING ABOUT ONLINE DEGREE OR VIRITUAL COLLEGE. IT'S THE EXACT SAME DEGREE AS ON CAMPUS STUDENTS. SO FUTURE EMPLOYERS WON'T EVEN EVER KNOW.
A: All college degrees are scams. Do any of them offer you a full money back guarantee if you don't get the job you train for with a minimum salary within a certain time after graduating? No? I rest my case.
Q: What are the pros and cons for getting an online degree and are they all accredited ?
Is a BA recognized if it is through an online school ?Is Phoenix really the "pioneer" of online courses ; and why would Phoenix register you in "AXIA" ( a JR. college ) when you apply to Phoenix ?
A: I would regard online universities as the absolute last resort for someone seeking higher education.
The quality of education these programs offer is minimal - there is simply no substitute for the kind of dynamic interactions and discussions that commonly occur in face-to-face college courses. Also, the quality of educator is significantly less at online universities - the best faculty choose to teach at real colleges and universities. Both the pay and work environments are far superior to online universities. So, for great classes from great instructors, go to a real college or university.
Also, because of the minimal training they offer, employers and graduate institutions place little value in degrees earned from online programs. Many of these programs lack even basic accreditation for the degree programs they offer.
Bottom line - you will receive little if any personal or professional benefit from online universities relative to what you could have received from a real college or university.
Q: Are there any accredited online universities that offer full Egyptology degrees?
A: University of Chicago - extremely respected and reputable program.
http://humanities.uchicago.edu/depts/nelc/programs/egypt_prog.html
Q: How to determine the authenticity of online degrees?
How does one find online degree courses from established and accredited universities? Im looking for a Masters / Integrated PhD
A: Because many longstanding, regionally accredited, and completely reputable state universities now offer courses and even degrees online, you can now pursue almost any area of study through distance education.
There are indeed some Master's degrees that are attainable online. However, there are no reputable online PhD programs. This is because a PhD program must be pursued in a community of scholars, with close mentoring and supervision. This, to date, cannot be accomplished online.
The links below are the absolute best on the internet. They contain more links to many well-respected state university distance education programs.
Bottom line: Avoid the "online universities" at all costs. These for-profit businesses do not deliver on their promises.
