Q: Does an on-line degree actually count as traditional collage degree?
Having tried collage unsuccessfully in my younger years due to money issues I opted to enter the working world without the coveted "Collage Diploma". I've had allot of success in my industry and have settled down into a comfortable life making above average wages and have started a family. I do not have time to go to classes daily to complete a degree but would like the satisfaction of having a diploma. Is an online degree worth it? Or is it a gimmick that holds no value in the working world

A: Contrary to what alot of people will tell you, online degrees hold just as much weight as a traditional degree. The reason is because when an individual completes an online degree while working at the same time, it shows extreme dedication and commitment to achieving your goals. Alot of big organizations and industries have CEO's that hold degrees from online colleges. The thing that you have to really make sure of it that the college or university is accredited, and that the courses of study that are provided in the degree program you are looking at provide a good foundation in the principles and skills of that program. Good luck in your endeavors of finding a good program, and just remember not to jump into the first program that you find. Spend time reviewing the school and coursework, and don't let anyone attempt to discourage you.

Q: How can I start a clothing line without getting a degree in fashion design first?
I want to start up my own clothing line, and I have over 200 designs already, but design schools are expensive. I want to also get a degree in business because I want to own my own night club, so I won't have time to go to school for fashion design, business, and have a job to pay for school.

A: Go to school for business and start a boutique (online or store or both) on which you sell your designs. Also hook up with local photographers, they may be interested in using your clothing in upcoming shoots. You are gonna really have to work and dont give up. Do you have local television shows that do special segments on upcoming work? Inquire about someone maybe wearing something of yours on air. Know someone who produces zines? Great get them to put you in their zine. The key is exposure. Wear your own designs as often as possible. Join up with already established indie websites that will link and advertise you for free. Go to local crafters shows. Advertise. Make business cards. The more exposure you get, then the more people will see what you have and interest will grow and before you know it you will be going, so I leave you with this..NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK!
