Q: Are distance learning degrees good?
Say for example University Of Phoenix and others.

A: The value of a distance learning degree depends on what someone is trying to get out of the degree. If someone is trying to learn/increase new skills for career advancement or trying to check off a block that's necessary for promotion, then a distance learning degree might be good. Since many public and private universities do not accept credit from many distance learning programs, if someone wants to transfer to another college for additional education, then it would be a waste of money. Another problem is that some jobs care about where you got your degree from while others do not. For example, getting an online PhD will probably not land you a professor job, but getting a degree in how to fix copy machines might be equivalent to getting a degree at a technical college. Cheers

Q: how can l know which universities in the usa the run accredited, highly recognised distance learning degrees?

A: GOOGLE! In the same shoes you are... talk about HOURS of research... best bet is collegeboard.com, go to for students, then click college finder, then select your criteria (independant learning, wired, distance/correspondance, stuff along those lines) then click show me results. there will probably be some 400 schools that offer distance learning.... its actually been a great help to me :-) PS> don't forget to type in what kind of classes you want the school to offer, narrows down the search a bit.

Q: Online or Distance Learning Fashion Degrees?
Hi I've been looking for an online or distance learning fashion degree for quite sometime now but can't seem to find one outside the USA (and there's no way I can afforded their prices). Finally getting my fashion degree has been a dream of mine for a long time now but I'm not at a place in my life where I can take the time out of work and life to do it. It seems really silly that I can do any other degree through distance learning yet when it comes to fashion there are no options. I already have a GNVQ (A level standard) and much work experience in the subject so I really can't understand why it's so hard to find somewhere that would be able to put my previous knowledge to the test and finally let me get that piece of paper. Has anyone found anywhere that does one or have any ideas where else I can look. Thanks :)

A: I think this type of study needs attending and the only universities can do these courses in cd or video or online link is in USA, that's why it is expensive. Why not take a year diploma in this field and attend in one of the local colleges near you. Or check google for any other alternative. Good luck.

Q: Are there any top-quality Universities offering distance learning bachelor's degrees?

A: Currently, no top-tier colleges are offering degrees that can be completed only through distance learning. However, many perfectly respectable state universities are doing so. These schools are REGIONALLY accredited, less expensive than those "online degrees" offered by those fly-by-night diploma mills, and course credits are universally accepted, and *transferable* from university to university. I've placed some superb links below to help you identify these state universities, and choose which program is right for you. Best wishes!

Q: How useful is an MS from US university by distance learning course?
I have a two year experience and I want to go for a MS in Computer Science in Spring 2009. By that time I will have about 3 years of experience. What is scope of an MS degree via distance learning from some US university? Will I be eligible for campus placements? Is it treated on par with regular course? Actually I am considering distance education because of financial issues. Please give your suggestions. Thanks.

A: Distance learning is not as favored as the traditional method. However, if you go that route, opt for a well-known school with a good reputation and get high high marks.
