Q: What are some great schools for an Undergrad degree in Broadcasting Journalism or TV Broadcasting?
What are some great schools for an Undergrad degree in Broadcasting Journalism or TV Broadcasting?
(Are there any in FL?)
A: I go to the University of Georgia and we have one of the top journalism programs in the country!
Plus Athens is the most amazing college town on the planet!!!
I have also heard the University of Florida has a good broadcast journalism program... if you are looking for a school in Florida!
Q: What accredited schools offer a bachelors or a masters degree in Chinese studies?
Mostly I want to know about a degree in the Chinese language, but schools that offer online programs in asian studies will help as well. Thanks!
A: A Bachelors degree in Chinese studies would focus on the history, politics, culture and economics of one or more of the peoples of present-day China and its historical predecessors, related borderlands and islands groups, and the overseas Chinese diaspora.
On www.universities.com you'll find universities in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania that offer Bachelor's degrees in Chinese studies. They also offer online programs.
For Chinese studies:
http://www.universities.com/On-Campus/Bachelor_degree_Area_Ethnic_Cultural_and_Gender_Studies_Chinese_Studies.html
For Chinese language and literature:
http://www.universities.com/On-Campus/Masters_degree_Foreign_languages_literatures_and_Linguistics_Chinese_Language_and_Literature.html
Many of these programs offer online courses, but it's important that these are thoroughly incorporated with face-to-face instruction as well, since language is one of those subjects best learned through practice and interacting with others.
Q: What are the best schools to do baking and pastry arts degree programs ?
I want to attend a school that offer Baking and Pastry Arts associate Degree and Bachelor's degree do you know any good schools in america other than johnson and wales and culinary institute of america ?
A: Hey, you could try The Art Institutes or Le Cordon Bleu North America, but coming from me I wouldn't waist my money on neither maybe A.I. at the most I attended both and transferred out of both schools now I'm on my way to JWU Providence, both offer A.O.S. but not a B.A in baking and pastries, only culinary schools I know that offers that is JWU & C.I.A. hope this helps
Q: Are there any quality accredited online schools to get a photography degree?
I really want a degree in photography, but i'm not a fan of going to class. I always hear about online schools, but don't know which ones are good, and which ones are just a waste of money.
Also how do you tell if a school is any good?
A: For a degree maybe http://www.academyart.edu/ is fine .
Go to this link and have a look http://www.worldwidelearn.com/art-design/photography/
Q: Does anyone have a recommendation on schools to get a degree in animation with low tuiton?
I currently live in Atlanta and I am looking to transfer to any school where I can get a degree in animation. The problem is that I do not want to pay more than 6,000 a year for tuition. Does anyone have any suggestions?
A: in chicago there is westwood, and olympia...but i would recommend investing a little more because they aren't the best schools. you can also study illustration or graphic design and then get an internship and climb your way up in an animation studio and/or gaming studio.
Q: Do most of the Flight Schools accept flight instructors without degree?
i know airlines prefer the one with a degree but how about flight schools... lets say he has already all the licenses needed
A: Since flight instructors have a CFI certificate, they can be accepted into flight schools without a degree. Most local flight schools will gladly accept a CFI, regardless of their upper-level education. However, if a CFI with no degree is looking for a job at places like Embry-Riddle Aero University or University of North Dakota, they will almost undoubtedly have a hard time with that endeavor.
Happy flying....
Q: What are the legitimate on-line schools where I can get my master's degree?
I live in Chicago and was hoping to find an on-line school offering a legitimate master's degree in sociology or criminal justice. I currently have a bachelors in criminal justice as well as a paralegal certificate. I would love to continue my education, but between work and life, its so hard to make the time to be physically in class. There are so many on-line school advertisements, I would appreciate any information regarding ones that will actually be most similar to obtaining a degree at a regular school. Thank you
A: There are plenty of legitimate places to get an online degree. You just need to know how to look up accreditation. You can do that at the U.S. Department of Education website at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.asp You can learn more about accreditation at http://www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html
I do recommend that you avoid the for-profit schools similar to University of Phoenix. I don't say this because they are fraudulent. I say this because they charge too much. Graduate tuition at University of Phoenix is close to $700 per semester credit hour. You can attend a state school that has an online degree program for probably less than half that cost.
Fort Hays State University has a Master's of Liberal Studies in Criminal Justice for $182.50 per semester credit hour. http://www.fhsu.edu/virtualcollege/degrees/masters/liberal/index.htm
University of Central Missouri has an online Master's degree in Criminal Justice for $271 per semester credit hour. http://www.cmsu.edu/x81135.xml
American Public University has an online Master's degree in Criminal Justice for $275 per semester credit hour. http://www.apu.apus.edu/index.htm
Good luck
Q: What do Law schools look for in an undergraduate degree?
I am currently an undergraduate at an online school. I hope to enroll in a law program upon completion of my undergraduate degree.
It was my hope that you could give me some advice, information, and guidance on admissions to a law program.
Aside from a high GPA from a properly accredited university, and a high LSAT score what do law schools look for in prospective students? What makes a candidate stand out, both in a good light and a poor one? I have been told that Law schools do NOT like to see any undergraduate law classes on a transcript. Is this true? What areas of study are recommended or frowned upon?
My current degree program is, Security Management with concentration in both Information Security and Workplace Security, and a dual minor of Intelligence Studies and Homeland Security.
Will this type of focus hinder my appeal or likelihood of acceptance to a good Law program?
Any advice, pointers, tips, etc would be greatly appreciated.
A: Law schools don't really have a specific undergraduate major requirement. They just want to see that you've studied something that will develop / strengthen analytical skills. They want to see classes with heavy reading and writing as well. A candidate's academic potential is important.
Things that would make a candidate stand out, from what I've read in various law school view books, include outstanding community service / volunteering, extracurriculars that show leadership. Also, some undergraduate majors can stand out more than others. Since they get alot of political science majors, someone with an undergraduate degree in physical / life sciences or engineering (for example) would stand out. Biology majors can make use of that degree by going to law school and a career in environmental law.
I think your major will stand out too. They'll see something really in demand these days, something that will help society fight the terror threats. You have security studies that cover a local and national level. Also, learning information security would definitely sharpen the analytical skills, because of scrutinizing systems to look for breaches or areas where an information system is most vulnerable.
Proficiency in a foreign language will be useful, as well as a diverse group of humanities anywhere in your undergraduate education.
Personality traits such as integrity and love of learning are great for law school as well.
Good luck with everything!
Q: Best Online schools to earn a degree in English?
I have a few questions. Which are the best schools to earn a degree in English? Are these schools accredited? How much are they per class? I'd like to get my BA in English. I need to do classes online since I work full time. Can any of these online degrees help me get a job, say at a publishing house or agency? Even work for a magazine? Thank you
A: All the info you ever need http://EduInfoForYou.com about online colleges. I found my college there it was a lifesaver for me . I was able to earn a degree in sports management online and now i love my job (first time in my life i can say that)
Q: What is the diffrence between the Medical Schools?(Also degree of difficulty)?
What is the diffrence between a medical school which gives you a title as an M.D., one which titles you as a D.O., and foreign medical schools (such as the caribbean)?
Also, what is the degree of difficutly of getting into these three?
What is the diffrence in entrance requirments and such?
A: The main difference between MD (allopathic) and DO (osteopathic) schools is the emphasis the DO's place on treating the patient versus the MD focus on treating the condition.
There isn't much competitive difference between the two types of schools.
Caribbean medical schools are a different story. The top 3 are just as competitive as US schools, but the remaining 20 have very low admission requirements. Some will admit you based on your ability to pay!
Q: What School takes your credits from other schools and gives you a degree?
I have more than 120 credits from an accredited college, but most of them are in the 2000 level. Is there a school that can take these credits and give me a degree? Which are they and how can I get information on this?
A: try Charter Oak College in Hartford , CT
or maybe its Farmington now
most colleges will accept around 60 credits from another school if the grades are good
Q: Is it possible to get a PharmD degree in UC schools?
Schools such as UC LA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego.
Or do you have to go to schools specialized to study pharmacy.
A: PharmD is a grad program. So, you have to see what UCs have a pharm school. Currently, only two UC's have a pharm school: UCSF and UCSD.
UCSF is possibly the top pharmacy school in the nation. One of the best anyways.
UCSD is brand new, but the school in general has a great rep so the pharm school will likely be quite prestigious in time.
Q: Does anyone know any schools where I can get my Associates Degree in Nursing while only attending part time?
I want to become a Registered Nurse but I don't want to only go to school for a certificate program. I want to get my Associates Degree in case I decide to go for my Bachelors. I couldn't find any information from any of the schools as to whether or not they offer part time classes for that degree. Does anyone know anything?? Thanks for any help. It would be greatly appreciated!
A: I was able to take my nursing prerequisites part time (it took me 2 years instead of 1 doing it slowly at a community college) and then I transferred those credits to a university. I just graduated with my BS in nursing!
Most of the girls in my class worked full time and did school full time, b/c there is really no way to do nursing school part time b/c you have to do clinicals and certain classes with the clinicals. But full time often only takes up about 4 days a week, so you can get a job the other days or working nights.
Q: What are some good schools to get a Bachelors Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts?
My fiancee goes to the Culinary Institute of America and is almost finished with his Associates Degree, but doesn't want to get his Bachelors there because of the cost of the program. We're looking for a school that ranks up there with the CIA, but the cost is less. Any ideas?
A: Johnson and Whales.
Q: Schools that offer a photography or photojournalism degree?
Anybody know of any schools that offer these kinds of degrees? I would prefer that they are reputable and maybe not too expensive. Thanks!
A: You may want to look at these three photo schools.

Inexpensive ... No. Just the camera equipment you willl need for the school wil cost you in excess of $5,000 ... not a lot when you consider that the three schools listed can cost nearly $100,000 for the two years necessary to finish your degree. Usually you take the first two years of your degree at a community college .. this will save a lot of money.
