Q: What type of business degree should i get?
I am still on high school and stressing about college haha
I am interested in a career in graphic design or advertising, but I would like to get a business degree first in case I do change my mind on that career. I know there are many fields of business but have no idea which one i should take, which would in the long run help me with graphic design or advertising?
A: I would say you should get a marketing degree.
It'll give you the skills to do a good job in your field.
Maybe you could major in marketing and minor in graphic design.
Good luck.
Q: How does a Business degree administrator compares to bachelor of science?
I'm curious to know what is the difference between bachelor of arts, science, and administrator. I'm an international business major, and I'm not quite sure what are the differences. Someone once tole me that in the business field, they always prefer BS over BA. Also is Bachelor degree administrator is any good in comparison to job seeking?
Thanks to those who answer
A: the BA generally requires that 75% of the courses taken be in the liberal arts. the BS requires that 50% be in the liberal arts. The BBA requires 25% in the liberal arts.
See http://www.highered.nysed.gov/ocue/04/liberalarts.htm for ONE definition of liberal arts.
Which is better? depends on the needs of the hiring firm.
Q: What is a good computer minor for a business degree?
I really enjoy working with computer, but know I have plenty to learn. So in your oppinion or experience, which Computer minor would go best with a BUsiness degree. I appreciate your input. Thanks!
A: Information systems or computer studies
Q: What job would give the most experience while finishing a business degree?
I am currently an Resident Assistant in my dorm that I live in. I am getting a Business degree specializing in Management. I am going to be taking 6 hours next fall, and was wondering what type of job I should get. I really need to make money to live, but I would really like a job that would prepare me for getting a "real" job. I live in a small town with not many large chains, but some small businesses in the area? What would be the recommendation or any advice?
A: If you own a degree - or any extra qualification - then you'll already be in advace of of the crowd when it comes to searching for careers. My friend has a degree and he wasn't certain what direction to go with it, but he discovered some excellent guidance on the site in the resource box below which aided him to decide that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is plenty of help on the site regarding extra careers.
Q: What are some of the job opportunities with a business degree?
I am planning on getting a four year business degree and I want to know what are some of the jobs that you can get with it. can anyone please help? thank you!!!
A: something related to bussiness...
Q: What to do after i get my degree in Business?
I am currently working full time at a telecom company, while going to school fulltime to get my BA. Work is paying for a majority of my schooling, so it has to be a business degree but I am not sure what i want to do once i am out of school nor do i know what to major in.
My company doesnt give perks or advances once you get your degree so its pretty much pointless to stay here.
Any ideas as to what career field to go into?
A: This sounds a lot like what I'm doing with my company. My major is finance, but marketing was another option I considered. I plan to go for a career in a different area of my company. My company is rather large though. Banking, investments, home mortgage...my company has endless possibilities.
There are hundreds of thousands of careers that a general business degree can get you. You just need to think about what you're good at and what you'll enjoy doing for 40+ years.
Q: What kind of course work is involved in an International Business degree?
I am considering getting my BA in International Business. I am not very good at math so I was wondering how much math work is involved in a degree of this type. Also what sort of job and salary could I get after I graduate? (And is studying abroad an important factor?)
A: You could check the website of the university you're applying to/going to and check on their requirements for an International Business BA.
Q: What careers can you have with a business degree?
What careers can you have with a Business degree? I want to be a money makerrrr.
A: Lemme see...my hubby has an MBA + an advanced teaching license. After 6 years of looking for a career comensurate with his education he STILL has to work as a cashier. Ummm, in this ecomony it's definately WHO you know or do favors for. Yeah, like the other person said before me, McDonald's, Wendy's, Lowe's, JC Penney, Dairy Mart.
Wanna make money? Build your own wind farm and start generating wind power or create a bio-fuel we can produce from America so our cars no longer need foreign oil.
Q: What classes do I have to take to get a second business degree?
I already have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Computer Information Systems. I want to get another business degree, but this time I want to major in Human Resources. How would that work out? I'm sure that some of the old business classes I took could be applied toward a new degree. Has anybody else gone through a similar situation?
A: You have several options. If you want to continue your business education you could get an MBA (Master of Business Administration), which focuses on advanced finance, accounting and management, with another, usually self-selected area of focus, which could have a human resources focus. However, you do not "major" in anything in advanced degrees, you specialize.
Alternatively, you could get a Master's degree in Human Resources. At some universities, this is offered through the business department and at others through psychology and others yet have human resources schools.
If you're simply seeking a second bachelor's degree, you need not redo your liberal ed requirements. I doubt very many business classes would count toward a bachelor's in HR, however, some management classes might. You'd have to check the policies of the school you're attending.
Q: Does an International Business degree in Marketing payoff?
I am currently tossing around the idea of going for an International Business degree in Marketing. My question is, is does it pay to get that degree or would it be better to get a Global Management degree? Both interest me but I would like some feedback from people that know.
A: A friend of mine studied international business with marketing as her major. She's currently traveling all over North America doing trade shows and such. She seems to be having a blast, even after 7 years in the business. From her lifestyle, I would say the pay is pretty generous too. I guess it depends on what you want to do exactly. But check out the relevant job opportunities in your area because it doesn't seem to be a high demand type of field.
