Do you have a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, or a Bachelor of Business Administration? Also, what was your major within your degree?

A: BS Pharmacy...

Q: How can a non accredited school offer and Associates and bachelor degree? Is it legit?
How can a non accredited school offer an associates and bachelor degree? Is it it legit? The reason i am asking is because, my brother is attending Florida CAreer College... I believe it's non accredited, yet they offer an associates and bachelors degree. How legit is this? And if it is legit, why do people say a non accredited school is a waste of time and money?

A: Yes, they can offer you a degree, but it won't be worth the paper it is printed on as for applying for jobs or special trades. Without accreditation, the document holds no value other than perhaps an internal pride that you accomplished something.

Q: What is the ratio of successful bachelor degree student?
Of all the people who graduate from college and earned a bachelor degree: -what is the percentage of those who are unhappy of their current situation? -what is the percentage of those who went on to do work in their field? Percentage of those going for PHD/ MD? -Percentage of people die prematurely? die violently? gotten ill? -travel the world? -travel the world and come back broke? Thanks.

A: I can't answer all of those questions. However, I can tell you that according to the Census Bureau, about 24% of Americans get a college degree. Just over one percent get a PhD. I can't tell you about travel -- except to say that people who are educated are more likely to travel overseas than those who do not. One reason is that the average salary for those with college educations is considerably higher than those who did not graduate. As for health issues, I saw an article just in the last week that shows that people with educations live longer than those without. Interestingly, this holds true even when you account for other factors like income and if they smoke.

Q: What do I do with a Bachelor degree in general studies?
I could never decide what I wanted my major to be, and now with my last semester ending this May, I regret getting a bachelor degree in general studies. Need help so I can find a job!

A: you get another degree

Q: What can you do with a bachelor's degree in law?
I want to improve the world as much as possible and plan on getting a doctorate in psychology, but would like something else along the way. I'm most of the way done with an associates degree in psychology, so getting a bachelors degree wouldn't take too long. You can't do anything with a bachelor's in psychology, but I imagine I could do good things if I have good knowledge of law. What I'm referring to about using law for is activism.

A: If you want to get a phd in psych, you should probably pursue psychology instead of branching out into law. Also, law isn't exactly something you do along the way; you get a bachelors and then you go to law school and then you take the bar exam. It's not as easy as it seems.

Q: How to become a nurse with a Bachelor degree in Sociology?
I'm thinking about becoming a nurse (RN), but was wondering what kind of education is needed? I have a Bachelor in Sociology. I'm not sure what area specifically I'd like to work in but somewhere along the lines of the ER or in the pediatrics department of the hospital. Does my Sociology degree give me a step up or do I have to start all over and get a BA in nursing?

A: I'm working on my BSN(bachelor of science in nursing), and some of the prerequisite classes i took were either directly related to sociology or was a branch of sociology. So you probably have some classes out of the way. I imagine you will need about a year to finish up your pre-reqs before you can apply for a program. Then once you get out of school you can request to work in a certain area or field and get specific training. Good Luck!

Q: Can I use credits from my first bachelor degree towards my 2nd degree?
I just graduated with a bachelor degree in business. I'm looking to go back to school for nursing. Can I transfer some of the classes I took towards my first degree towards the nursing degree?

A: Yes, with limits. All schools have rules for second and third bachelor's degrees. Usually, they will require that you get at least 30 new semester hours to be awarded the second degree and (of course) meet all of the degree requirements for the new degree. The credits you want to use will need to be required in the new degree - much of your core/general ed will apply fine. You may need some sciences and social sciences to add to it. All of your electives should be met by your first degree. You can become eligible for federal financial aid if you already have a degree but you'll have to appeal for it and provide a very solid justification. It's not an easy sell but can be done. Also, there are some (not too many) direct entry MSN programs out there that will give you a master's in nursing and the RN without requiring an undergrad in nursing. Look around where you are because if you can go that way it will be much more advantageous financially.

Q: What should I do after I receive a bachelor degree in a foreign country?
If I have a bachelor degree in medicine in Peru, what should Ido next to get licence to practice medicine in the USA? I'm a citizen here

A: Citizen "here" -- since you talk about 2 different countries, your references are unclear. Regardless, a Peruvian bachelor degree in medicine is not equivalent to an MD from a US medical school. A bachelor's degree is a prerequisite to get into med school in the US. You do not qualify to apply for state board exams in the US, and you cannot work in the US without passing the boards. The Peruvian bachelor degree might not even qualify for you to apply to med school in the US, although you can try applying for next school year. Practice medicine in Peru. They need you.

Q: What kind of Bachelor degree is needed for becoming an ARCHITECT?
I know that there are many different programs, BUT I dont think that I can even get into the five year program right now because I have had bad grades, and right now I am kind of working on them!! So, I was thinking of going to get a bachelor degree first, and then go on and get a masters in architecture? So, what are some good degree options?

A: Bachelor of Science in Design with a focus on Architecture, and at most Universities you have to be in the pre-Architecture program to get into the master's program, after that you get your masters you have to get liscensed while working in the field, four years more. Minimum of ten years to be a liscensed Architect. I'm on year one. Here's a link to what the University of Nebraska Lincoln requires. http://archweb.unl.edu/Programs/ArchFlowChart.pdf
