Q: where is a good place for an online associates degree for early childhood devoplment?
have found o couple but one cost allot and another is almost 900 a semester wondering if anyone knows about somewhere cheaper
A: Go to your local technical school, and ask about grants. In Wisconsin, the government pays for some of it.
Q: Are there any online colleges that offer associates degree as a physical therapist assistant?
I was wondering if anyone out there can help me decide the best online distance learning college that is accredited who offers an associate's degree as a physical therapist assistant? I have been getting feedback that getting into that profession is a great idea as it is very rewarding with excellent benefits and pay. I love to help people and make them feel better. But I am going to pursue my career in pediatrics because I want to help children. Can anyone help me with the best school that i can do online from home? Thanks to all and god bless!
A: I am sorry to tell you that there are no online physical therapy assistant programs (not to be confused with a physical therapy aide). Even the APTA states directly on their website that CAPTE (the organization that accredits PT and PTA programs) does not/will not accredit any online programs for these professions. These are hands on careers; and, therefore, require a hands on education. If you want to become a PTA you need to go to a live, accredited program available at many community colleges. You can go to the education section of http://www.apta.org to get a list of accredited PTA programs.
However, there ARE online schools for a physical therapy AIDE/TECH position. This is NOT the same as a PTA. In all honesty, I think these programs (such as those offered by Penn Foster) are a waste of time and money. The aide position is primarily an on the job trained position with very limited patient contact (however that also depends on your state). Most aides are not allowed any patient contact except under the direct line of site supervision of a PT or PTA. Since you are receiving this level of supervision, I see little reason to become "certified" as an aide/tech. The eduction (which lasts from about 6 months to a year) hardly seems worth a $9-$10 an hour job. Go for 1 extra year to become a PTA and you will nearly double your income. However, if you really want to become a tech, just know that you do not need any formal education to become one. All of our techs at our facility were trained on the job. Their primary responsibilities include clerical work, cleaning the gym, and providing assitance during treatments (such as helping the therapist stand a patient, etc). Furthermore, the APTA nor CAPTE is not currently endorsing any aide training programs.

Q: nursing associates degree online a good idea?
what schools should i try? how much is the registration fee? know anyone who liked it?
A: If you were hospitalized...would you want your nurse coming in and saying he/she received their degree online?...there are too many hands on techniques to learn...it is certainly acceptable for continuing education...progressing to a BS or for certain certifications...but not for your entry level degree.

Q: Online Associates Degree (Telecom)?
I'm interested in finishing up my associates degree in telecommunications. I already have about 36 college credits. Does anyone know or reccomend a good accredited university where I can finish all my necessary credits online? I don't have the time or patience to go to the campus. Any school names with an all online curriculum would be much appreciated. Thanks!
A: Check out Baker College out of Michigan.
www.baker.edu
They have 100% on-line degree programs for Associates as well as Bachelor's degrees.
Affordable at about $185 per credit hour.
Fast paced...4 semesters per year, 2 6-week sessions per semester.
Accredited.
My degree looks the same as the one they award from the traditional brick and mortar school.
Q: ONLINE Associates Degree, is it any good????
I am not ready for a 4 year college and I also want to get past the 2 year community college ordeal. I know online bachelors degrees are pretty iffy- a friend I know at her job after GWU told me they basically just ignore resumes with online bachelors degrees- but if get an online associates and plan to get a bachelors NOT online will I have any problems?? Does that go smoothly or will some universitys not accept me with an online associates?? Should I just suck it up and go to community college?? Any info would be great!
A: If you do an online associate degree, it must be from a fully accredited college in order for your credits to be accepted by a four-year college.
Some online schools say they are accredited but the accrediting association is actually a sham. A college needs to be accredited by a regional accrediting body. This site has links to the regional accrediting associations:
http://distancelearn.about.com/od/accreditationinfo/a/regional.htm
I was a college administrator for 28 years before I retired and it is my opinion that you will get much more benefit from actually attending college rather than getting a degree online. However, if your online college is accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations, your credits will be accepted by a four-year college provided you take courses that are applicable to the degree and major you pursue.

Q: Associates Degree online while working full time.?
This January I will be taking classes on-line for a Computer Support Specialist 2 year degree. I've been out of school for 12 years and work full time Monday through Thursday (4-10 hr. days). Question is: How many classes at once can I handle. Some people say start out with one since I've been out of the loop so long. Others say start with 2 or 3 so I don't psych myself out thinking it will take me 5 years to graduate. The first few classes like MICROSOFT OFFICE LEVEL 1
and WELCOME TO ONLINE LEARNING FUNDAMENTALS seem like they would be a cake walk I don't want to say that only to find out they're difficult. Any advice would be appreciated. I don't have children so that helps a bit when it comes to making time to study. These classes are all "work at your own pace". Has anyone been through something similar and if so what's your advice. Thanks!
A: In my experience (I earned my AAS in Computer Programming online while working a full time job) I was able to handle 3 - 4 classes all at once. It is really not all that hard and I had a great time. Anyhow, I used this site: http://educationreviewworld.info/go/EducationAdvance.htm to find legit schools and request information from them. It sure helped me out.
Q: where is the best source online for an associates of arts degree?
I'm currently working full time and would like to goto school online. The best choice I found myself is aiu online [ http://www.aiuonline.edu/ ]. However They are still a bit expensive. My plan is to gain the associates, then the bachelors, but most online sites require that you already have an a.s. degree.
A: Vince, stay away from AIU!! Please vist www.aiutruth.com for all the real information about this school and this site also has a lot of good information about what to look for when selecting a online school to attend. Good Luck
Q: looking to get an online associates degree is Penn foster College the cheapest, is this a good school?
A: I really didn't like it. However if you have enough self discipline then go for it. It was a really hard time in my life and I just wasn't doing the work. As for the school its self it seems like they have got their stuff together!! Good luck!!
Q: are there online schools to get an associates degree in registered nursing?
i'm a state tested nurse aide and would like to get my associates degree as a rn. i have been a stna for 7 years.
A: There are lots of online schools to get your RN...but you need to have your LPN first. I will graduate in May with my LPN and then I'm moving on to my RN. I for one, wouldn't want anyone to be my nurse that got their entire nursing education online. You need to learn in a class room with everyone else and you need the hands on expierence. I don't care if you are an STNA...you're not a nurse. You need to think about these things before you sign up for anything online. If you're worried about being able to work and go to school, it can be done. The program I'm in right now is part time and I got on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is a program in Madisonville, Ky that has an RN program on the weekends. You just need to look in the right places.
Q: Could I get a job in Human Reources with an Associates Degree in Psychology?
I just enrolled for an online Associated degree in Psychology program. I looked at some of the careet avenues for Psychology and I know that I will have to further my education in order to really get into the field of Psychology. I was wondering if I can go into an entry-level Human Resources position with an Associates Degree in Psychology?
A: I am going into Human Resources and I have my BA in Psychology. That said, I will shortly be going back to school to get my Masters in Human Resources. The company I currently work for will not hire ANYONE for a Human Resources position that does not have experience in the field already. So basically, I have to do another position first and get promoted to Human Resources (that is the only other way my company allows people to get into the position.)
From what I understand Human Resources positions are very hard to get. And although Psychology is very much related to the field of Human Resources...most of the positions I have looked at require a Bachelor's degree or higher.
Hope that helps.
Q: Are there any accredited online schools for Associates degree to become an RN?
A: I don't know if you can do the whole thing on-line and rather suspect that you cannot. But, there was a correspondance school named the New York Board of Regents or something similar that offered a number of accredited courses both for getting an RN and for the required continuation courses. The remaining problem however is whether or not your state will accept a particular school's correspondance or on-line credits. Then, it remains to be seen if your local schools will accpet them; and if so, as elective or core requirement credits.
If you plan to do an on-line or correspondance program, you might want to check in with the schools in your area to see what if any credits they will accept and from which schools. Increasingly, a number of state schools offer and accecpt a number of correspondance and on0line courses themselves. Sometimes, not every state college/university or CC will offer a wide selection of courses but, another state school will offer some that the nearest one to you does not; in turn, they will accept credits from the school that does offer the correspondance or on-line courses. The primary stumbling block is in getting laboratory and/or practicum course work done through some type of a distance learning program. Often, RN programs are heavy in acutal laboratory and practicum courses.
