Q: How much do the average online course cost?
I was wondering how much online courses, if they cost more or less than actually going to campus. I'm not worried about how hard the criteria is, I just want info on the cost of a one year course.

A: Online courses tend to vary in price, so we could say they are more expensive, but that is relative. Of course they are more expensive that a community college, but less expensive than Harvard. The price range varies. Suggestions for selecting online schools The key is to make sure the college/university is accredited. I have three basic recommendations for everyone looking into online/distance education. They all have to do with exploring; after all, you have to defend your assets. 1. Make certain that you have triple checked their accreditation. First, they tell you what it is, then you go to that accrediting body’s website (not through the link provided by the school), and thirdly you would visit the department of education to see what they have to say. Do your diligent research into the institutions once you have narrowed down to a couple. You can look at the Better Business Bureau for more information on the college. 2. You must have extreme self motivation and be able to teach yourself per say. This means that you will not have someone telling you verbally, so it is up to you to get the information from the course room, text, and other resources. The best way to look at it is like a guided independent study course. 3. Review your goals, personal and professional. Make sure that the school that you are going to offers the programs that match your goals. Do not settle. There are many programs that are similar, but you have to make the ultimate decision. Do not let it be based on finances and length of program, but the fact that when you are finished or near finished you will be able to assume your proper place in the career field sought. You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!

A: do you mean to teach people who to use email? If so, I don't see the market for it. Kind of like teaching kids to ride a bike, they get the info from parents or friends. but I could be wrong!

Q: Is there any online drivers education course approved by New York State?
I am hoping I can find an online course that will allow me to obtain my full license earlier than my 18th birthday but so far have not found any courses that will be accepted by New York...can anyone help?

A: I don't think you're going to be able to take an online driver's ed course because of New York's rules :( According to their site: "Driver Education If you are age 17, you are eligible for a senior driver license (Class D or M) if you have a junior driver license or limited junior driver license and have completed a state-approved high school or college driver education course. To convert your junior license to a senior license, bring your junior license and the Student Certificate of Completion (MV-285) that you received from your instructor to any motor vehicle office. You must surrender your certificate and junior license to receive the senior license. If you do not convert your junior license to a senior license, you are subject to the restrictions for junior drivers until you are age 18, even if you carry the completion certificate with you. You may also give your certificate with your junior permit to the license examiner at your road test. You will automatically receive a senior license when you are eligible."

Q: Is there a free or cheap online course available for a certification in Human Resources or Logistics?
There is one course that I found which was for Cornell University's online program, but that is too expensive for a vetern on pension. Are there any cheaper alternatives available?

A: Look to another more specific experience-based answer perhaps, but generally, if you are a veteran get a well accredited strong program and let the loans get you through the program. Check to ensure the credits you earn in any program will actually be transferrable (to provide you flexibility in your academic progress) and that the institution is really accredited by one of the major accreditors, North American..., North Central Association, Commission on Colleges , Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities Succeed brilliantly! ...a free or cheap online course available for a certification in Human Resources or Logistics? Q: How hard is it to devote time to an online course?
I want to to study and work at the same time, so i can make the money, as well as get the qualification. Is this a realistic concept?? I have not been motivated to study in the past, and i fear that i will not commit myself enough to complete a degree online. Anyone who has done one- any advise? Is it much harder than an on campus course, because of the lack of interaction??

A: I got an online course before..It was shorter than the regular term course..You need to get online and finish everything timely because I had some quizzes every week which I had to be online..The hardness part depends on the teacher but you have to study yourself..In classes at least you can discuss the issues..

I'm interested in learning more about car repair. Is there an online course, or a specific website or book, that I could basically go from no knowledge to competency?

A: You would be better off to check your local Community College or Vo/Tech school. They often have evening classes cheap, plus you work on your, or another student's, car w/an expert watching.

A: The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science offers an excellent online course, however, you must actaully come to the school for a period of 2 weeks to meet your embalming requirements.
