Q: what high school courses should I take to become a nursing major in college?
I am in high school and am really interested in nursing. What courses should i take to be a good candidate for a nursing program?
A: chemistry, biology, anatomy, lab science, physics
Q: Which UK universities accept International students for nursing courses?
Thanks.
A: All UK universities and colleges offering Vocational Qualifications in nursing will be open to foreign students.
Choose an area in which you wish to live, find out which universities/colleges are in the area and then search the online propectus for the university.
The only problem will be getting grants to pay for your studies.
Q: Do you know any Black Colleges that offers great nursing courses?
A: Hampton is a good one:
http://www.hamptonu.edu/academics/schools/nursing/history.htm
Note to some of the other respondants, what the questioner means by "Black Colleges" is what in the US are called HBCUs = Historically Black Colleges and Universities, institutions of higher education which date back to the era of racial segregation when it was difficult to impossible for Blacks to be admitted to many, at the time, all-white institutions.

A: yeah u would just put in the app early and sent in fin aid forms
Q: hi, ive applied to do a nursing course at uni, but is there any evening/night courses i should be thinking of?
doing? i live in staffordshire. thanks for any help
A: You can do an access course in the evenings but that is two years long. If you have already applied then you will already have the entry requirements. Perhaps do some first aid or a bit of Biology, Sociology or Psychology. Even getting a job in carework would help. Good luck
Q: 16 and graduated and wanting to take online courses for some kind of nursing job?
Ok I'm done with school already. Have been since Oct 06'. I really want to become some kinda doctor assistant or nurse or something like that. Something to where you don't have to go to school for like 7 years. I just want to take online courses at home. Maybe become a Certified Nurse or Nurse Practioner. I'm not sure. Do you know where I could look into something like that. How much it would cost and how long it would take to complete. I don't wanna take like a couple of years to do it. I just want to take the courses and be done. But I'm not sure exactly what I could be in that amount of time. I've been thinking about it and I kinda want to do it. Any ideas? Help! Im confused
Oh and yes I actually graduated at 15 actually 15 1/2 lol. :)
A: You graduated at the age of 16? Way to go girl! :)
Try the university of phoenix. A couple co workers of mine are currently taking some online courses, and they enjoy it.
Best of luck to you!
Q: online nursing courses in usa?
I want to do a nursing course online but all the sites i visited require a pre-qualification in the feild for admission.I dont know where should i start.Does anyone know which course should i do to get admission in the nursing course.Plus i want to know that is there any six month course available that can get me a decent job? Thanks!
Hi Jill, can u tell me how much a nursing assistant earn?
A: There are no online nursing courses that last 6 months or less. There are no LPN or RN courses that offer your initial licensure courses entirely online because it is required for licensure to sit classroom time and skills labs and clinicals on site at hospitals and clinics and nursing homes.
In less than 6 months you can become a nursing assistant (about a 4 week program). Pay won't be great, and whether that qualifies as a "decent job" is entirely subjective.
Q: What courses do I take for nursing?
Im going to grade 11 and i dont know what courses i should take if i want to become a nurse and go to Algonquin College.
A: Take all the science classes you can, particularly chemistry and biology!!
You may want to look online to the college and see if they have a list of the nursing curriculum, so you get an idea of what you have to take, if they don't have it online, email or call and ask for a list of classes required. This will tell you about what type of classes you need to take to get prepared. It may be a pain, but take classes in high school, that will benefit you in college, like science and math particularly. Nursing school is pretty intense, but if you are focused and determined you can do it!! Alot of science and alot of critical thinking.
This isn't the same for all colleges but just to get an idea...
For my core classes for nursing school I had to take:
Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Psychology, Microbiology, 2 English classes, College Algebra, a humanities class (I took art) and History.
Then the next 2 years, I had to take 8 nursing classes which are just classes about the different aspects of nursing (emergency, labor and delivery, pediatrics, etc.)
Q: Do you get paid for the time spent in clinical placements on pre-registration nursing courses?
A: on a pre-reg nursing course your bursary is the only payment you receive for doing the course - both academic and clinical parts. Your bursary is to cover your living costs and study costs, most universities will pay you travel expenses beyond what it would cost you to get to your lessons.
Q: Any nursing courses i can do at Uni? REPOST NO ANSWERS?
I've had a look on UCAS at the ones local to me (w.mids) and all the entry requirements say i need a Btec national to get in, but then they say 'not including early years' which is unfortunate as that's the course i'm doing.
Anyone have any idea of child nursing courses i could do with just GCSEs. I have 5+ A-C grade GCSEs
A: Look at www.nmas.ac.uk its the nursing version of ucas. I started my nurses training (didn't finish it tho!) in 2004 with just GCSE's. I studied at London Southbank. The first year of my course was general nursing, although placements were in your area of nursing, i was doing children's so my placements were all at Great Ormond Street (that happens to be the NHS trust working with the uni i was at.
Good Luck
Q: What courses must I take at a community college to get into a 4 year nursing program?
the college's website is www.uncc.edu. I want to get into their nursing program for my sophamore year after completing one year at a community college, but i dont know which courses I must take, so as to ensure my transfer. please help....!!!!!
A: http://www.provost.uncc.edu/catalogs/1999-2001/numain.html
That link is a little old so you may want to email them and ask if any changes have been made to the Nursing program.
Q: Does any one know the required courses to take for nursing?
so far i've taken both psychology classes two math classes three english classes and biology...
i am supposed to take my NET test in april
what classes do i take this fall to continue
getting into the nursing program if i go for my bachelors degree.
A: I'm applying to BSN programs right now for Fall semester 2009. Generally all schools require at least:
Anatomy/Physiology w/ lab (2 semesters)
Microbiology
Nutrition
Developmental Psychology/Lifespan
Other common requirements include
Statistics
General Chemistry, or Chemistry for Health Sciences
and sometimes if it's a top notch program they'll want you to have already taken Organic Chemistry, which I feel is a bit odd/overkill.
