Q: does anyone know how competative the primary education course at Brighton university is?
I am hoping to get on to the University of Brighton Primary Education 5-11 with QTS (4 years) course and was wondering how competative it is. It certainly seems to look the best Primary Education course which is relativley close to me (i live in Portsmouth at the moment) I am male so i know that automatically gives me a slight advantage in applying to a course like this. Any information would be much appreciated :)

A: Try to use proper english, grammar, and spelling when applying (unlike your question, above).

Q: How quickly can an "access to Higher Education" course take?
I want to do one of these courses with a view to doing a degree soon. I have read that the course can take "up to" a year when full time. Does this mean it can be done quicker ?

A: You really need to ask the specific program you are looking at - since it most likely varies. My guess, if i had to make one, would be that it varies depending on the educational level of the student, and also when the classes are offered and how many you take at one time.

Q: what are the advantages when you are going to choose the education course?
i am going to choose that course in college, what are the advantages?

A: There are several advantages, but the main one is better pay. With a highschool diploma, either your employer will give you better pay, or you will be more qualified for more exclusive jobs. This goes even moreso for a college degree. You can get paid almost twice to ten times as much as someone without any sort of educational background.

Q: Where can I do an adult education course in web design?
I am already doing a home study course but would like something a bit more in depth. I also find it easier to attend a college as you can ask questions and have it explained more easily. The home study courses are so expensive too. I live in the Doncaster area, any advice would be appreciated:0)

A: I know you said you are already doing a home study course so this might be a repetition but have you tried: www.vision2learn.co.uk They do quite a few good free courses so it's worth a try if you're not already doing one.

Q: what is more practical to choose to, an IT course, or an education course?
i am currently taking up an education course in a private college.but next sem,i plan to transfer in a university for an IT course.i am really confused about it.i am specifically looking for a stable, and in demand job.and the fact that it will carved my future, makes me really worried about it.do you think i must transfer next sem,or stay where i am now?

A: You should really schedule an appointment with your school counselor. They will be much more help than any person on here. But for what it's worth. I was in the same position with you last year. I decided to stay in the same school, just just go a different campus, a different smaller one. I changed from engineering to accounting and am enjoying school so much more, partially from the curriculum change and partially from the new campus with smaller classes. It all depends on you and how much you're enjoying school. There's a difference from not wanting to do a report or something, than absolutely dreading to go to class to the point where you don't even go anymore. But education will always need a jobs, and things will always break so IT will always be needed. It's all about what you enjoy more.

Q: UK college question. Is there a minimum number of people there must be on a further education course?
I mean if loads of people left, and there was about 5 left in the group, would the course still continue?

A: Most further education is taught 'for profit', so there must be enough paying students to cover the costs of the staff, room and other resources, and make a profit.

Q: Has anyone in australia used a Thompson Education course to find a job?
i mean, starting a course that you have had no experience in and then being sucessful in finding work in that field with the certificate? Do employers actually take those courses seriously? if anyone has had any experinces good or bad i would like to hear them. Thanks

A: Hi, My mum did one of these courses she was still paying for it 2 years after completing it & it didn't help here with employers so she has taken it out of her resume. Go do the course at TAFE, they even have courses that you can do from home it's called Open Learning.

Q: What can be the best answer in an interview asking you why you want to to take special education as a course?
i am a college student, shifting in a course in our univesity specifically in the college of education. In the admission process there is an interview. I just want advices or suggestions about the answer to the question why shift in the college of education.

A: Well, that depends on your reasons. If it was me, then I'd say this. "Because children with special needs have to have someone to guide them with a knowing and caring hand."

Q: Have you completed a Cengage Education course? and did you get a job/career out of it?
What do you think about Cengage Education? Was it a waste of money? or did you find it started your career, or gave you the job you wanted? Cengage Education was previously called Thompson Education.

A: hey, i'm studying with cengage education now. I'm doing the animal care course. its been really helpful for me, as i work full time, so they give me the luxury of studying in my own time. The course is for 18 months, but i'm nearly finished and its only been 6 months! they have been really helpful aswell and i think i got my money's worth. I've learnt heaps! i did some research at uni's and tafe's for animal care, but there were about 3 or 4 different courses to choose from. Cengage covers all topics in animal care, which was a bonus as i could do it all at once. the only downside is that if you want help from a tutor you may have to wait a couple of weeks for there reply (via email) but you can always call cengage and ask for help or go to the student forums where one the students will help you. Because i'm tight on money as well, they were helpful enough to take money out of my account once a month, and i can choose which day they take it out. i just payed a $40 deposit to get me started. unlike some other places where the exact the full amount straight up. if i plan to do another course, whatever it may be i'll defiently be going back to cengage. (edit) i'm studying the course for an outlook of all the different jobs you can get with animals aswell as doing the course for hobbies and thinking of starting my own buisness in the future. if your looking for courses with certificates or diploma's for getting a full time job you may be better going to uni or tafe, as some people will not accept online courses as 'study and research'. Depends what you want to do. Perhaps email companies/business and ask if they hire people who have studied from Cengage Education, to give you an idea if the course will work for you or not

Q: When do you have to take the debtor education course for filing chapter 7?
Do I do this prior to the meeting of the creditors or after?

A: Actually the answer is both.....you take the first one before you go to your 341 Creditors meeting, that one takes about 15 minutes to do if you do it online. The second one you do after the 341 Creditors meeting, that one is about 2 hours long.

Q: I have all education course work with the exception of student teaching, what do i do?
Do I just enroll in a school in order to take the student teaching portion only? Because typically schools do not just allow you to do that. They at times require you to take some more classes.

A: There are many colleges that let you sign up for an internship or practice teaching for credit for a semester. Ask around the various schools and also ask the principals of the various schools, either public or private for an internship for college credit. You can also enroll in independent study and ask that credit be received for student teaching, but ask in advance. A student teaching internship with a college is the usual route. Make sure you have transcript credits for this internship of student teaching.

Q: What is the best education course after 10th Standard?
Iam studying in 10th this year. my father owns an engineering workshop.(cnc lathes). I am intrested in computers as well as engineering . i am also intrested in going abroad. Can you please guide me how to proceed?

A: It is good that you have already begun planning for your career. I suggest the following: For your 11th and12th, take Science, preferably with Computer Science as a subject. Study hard for your 12trh to get good marks. After your 12th apply for B.E. in Computer Science & Engg.. Depending on how you do in the B.E. course, and what kind of job offers you get during campus placement, you can then decide if you want to take up a job or go for higher studies.
