Q: Are continuing education students eligible for adobe discount?
I just graduated from college last may and am now taking a continuing education course at a credited design school. i need the latest adobe programs for the course. Since i'm continuing education can I still get adobe creative suite 4 with a student discount?
A: You should be able to. My girlfriend just bought the very same software. She had to prove her student status with her ID card/Confirmation letter etc. which she sent via email. It very simple to do.
Q: Unitversity of Texas in Arlignton - Continuing Education?
Has anyone taken the 6 month continuing education course to be a Veterinary Assistant? It is a 6 month course and I was wanting to get insight from someone who has actually taken this class. I am thinking about enrolling in this but wanted reviews from people who have actually had experience with this class.
A: I don't have experience with the class, but I have worked as a veterinary assistant.
The thing about these courses is that they don't teach you anything hands on or practical to a job in veterinary assistance. Most vets will hire people based on their job experience and not because they sat in a classroom for 6 months. Also, do you really want to be a veterinary assistant for the rest of your life? You'll make minimum wage for the rest of your life. There isn't a lot about that job that requires classwork because the majority of the job is cleaning. You clean cages, clean up after animals, clients and the other employees. You don't need to waste your money on a class to do that.
If you want a career in a vet clinic and actually make decent money, then consider veterinary technology instead. The program is 2 years but you'll end up making more money and you'll end up learning practical skills and end up doing less cleaning and more hands on work with the animals such as dental cleanings, blood drawing, catheter placement...
Q: Continuing Education?
I've failed in two subjects in my B.Com., (year 1998) later I tried to pass them 3 or 4 times but I couldn't pass. Later I stopped it. Till now I've not completed my graduation. Is it possible to write the two papers and obtain a degree certificate? My university is Osmania University of Andhra Pradesh, India. Also kindly answer to my another question is it possible to do PG courses through distance mode without graduation. Any such universities? Please help me. I want to complete my graduation and also PG.
A: You should contact an academic advisor at your university. They can advise you if there are any changes to the curriculum in your degree program since you last attended. There may be new degree requirements that you will be required to fulfill. You may be required to take more than the two failed subjects.
I don't think writing two papers will fulfill the two subjects you previously failed. Most likely, you will be required to complete classes in order to fulfill the degree requirements.
As for your question about taking graduate-level distance education courses prior to your baccalaureate degree, you should contact the school offering the distance education classes what the requirements are for admission and registration of the post graduate classes. Often times, you will not be qualified to register for post graduate-level classes if you are still considered an undergraduate student.
My advice to you, complete your baccalaureate degree first before concentrating on your post graduate degree.
Best wishes.

Q: i need to find an on line course for continuing education air condition, heating and refridg for florida?
A: Beware! You are about to be scammed.
There is little likelihood of a real HVACR program of study being on-line.
HVACR is a mechanical skilled trade requiring "hands on" training and usually an apprenticeship. Acceptance as a HVACR technician is governed by a State sanctioned professional body.
I don't know what the Professional HVAC Association is called in Florida, but you should check with them before paying anything for a course. If the Body does not recognize the credentials issued by whatever institution you study at, you've waisted your money.
Many unscrupulous "education" institutions have been established that claim to offer credentials in a field but really only offer some arcane knowledge and an expensive and useless piece of paper.

Q: Are CLE courses tax deductible?
I understand that Continuing Legal Education courses (CLE's) are deductible, as are professional dues and unreimbursed travel expenses...as a business deduction.
However, could you use the Lifetime Learning Credit? And would you be better off doing so?
A: If you are a solo practitioner, they would be business expenses on your schedule C, not subject to the 2% floor. If you are in a partnership, get the partnership to pay, even if it reduces your draw and have the deduction specially allocated to you on your K-1. If you are an employee and you had to pay for the CLE, you will be subject to the 2% floor.

Q: How do you prove you are proficient in a language?
Are there any tests you need to take or documents? I am about to take some continuing education courses in Japanese but I am concerned about how I can have credibility once I have learned the language.
A: Take the JLPT
http://www.jees.or.jp/jlpt/
or the BJT
http://www.jetro.go.jp/bjt/
both are good measures of your proficiency. They both test differently, but test congition ability and speed. Ability to read. Vocabulary.
Q: Can you be a dental assistant without a certificate?
I am certified in CPR. I have a dental radiology license and take continuing education courses. I just want to know if I am doing this legally. I personally feel I have more knowledge than some of the people they are hiring from dental school. I take my job very seriously.
A: What state are you in? If you go to the DANB site (www.danb.org) you'll be able to get all the info you need for your state......... and you'll know if you're doing things illegally or not...
