Q: What courses do i need in order to become a massage therapist?
I've been looking into coming a massage therapist, but i wanted a little more info on it. I am currently in grade 9 and i am just selecting my courses for next year. What courses should i take in high school to be ready for a career in massage therapy? I would also like to know if i would go to college or university? If so, what courses should i take there aswell?

A: Anatomy and physiology will be very helpful if you plan on attending a massage school. Also, a basic psychology class if it's offered at your high school. Massage schools range from 9 months to 3 years, depending on where you live. Some schools are in a college type setting and others are less formal.

Q: What courses should i take to be a landscape designer?
I'm in gr.9 rite now and I'm having trouble figuring out what courses I should take next year if i want to become a landscape designer. I'm taking tech this year, because we get to learn how to design stuff on the computer, but I'm not taking art and i don't know if i should next year. There's an art - computer course, but I'm not really sure what it's about. And I know I should take biology in gr.11 too. I need to book an appointment with my guidance counselor, but until then if anyone has any ideas on what courses i should take, please help.

A: Hi I am currently at Keystone College majoring in Landscape Architecture My best suggestions is to load up on science and art take Biology, chemistry, enviornmental science, and Horticulture if your school has it. Horticulture is the study of plants.. (pretty big deal with landscape design) load up on art.. figure drawing, 2-D and 3-D design, drafting Take some computer/ drawing classes as well. Alot of the new designs for landscaping are now being done on computer Hope this helps

Q: What undergraduate courses are required to apply to med school?
I want to major in something other than a science and use my electives to have the minimum course requirement to apply to med school. What are the courses, typically.

A: It does not matter what your major is, but all medical school admissions in the U.S. require these undergraduate courses. one year of physics w/ lab one year of general chem w/ lab one year organic chem w/ lab one year biology w/ lab one year of English composition Additionally, most medical school recommend (but usually don't require): Biochemistry Cellular biology Comparative anatomy Anatomy and Physiology Additionally, those extra classes will prepare you immensely for the Medical College Admission Test. I recommend you talk with you adviser early and let them know of your intentions so that they can be sure you will be able to fit your required courses in during you undergraduate term. Further, check for specific additional requirements dictated by the medical schools you tend to apply to. Some are more competitive than others.

Q: What grade 12 courses should I take to boost my average?
I need to get a high average next year so that I can get into a university. I have chosen: International Business Business Leadership Geomatics History I need 2 more courses to choose from, and I'm, not sure what else is easy. The math and sciences are not a good choice for me cause I'm not the greatest in those categories. So what are some good Grade 12 courses you would recommend?

A: If your school offers AP classes take those so you might get credit for them & won't have to take them again in college. Since many college aps in the US are due late fall early winter the senior year and many will announce their acceptance or rejection in the spring (before final grades) senior year grades aren't as important as the freshman thru junior year. They will look at what classes you take your senior year to make sure you aren't slacking off but your grades from prior years will pretty much seal your fate. Many colleges now use college application essays & letters of recommendation from your teachers as much as GPA & SAT scores in their selection process. The competition is tough for the major universities. For instance Univ of Miami has over 22,000 aps, they accept less than 2200, Univ of Fla has over 50,000 aps & have room for 3300. Univ of Ohio gets over 100,000 aps but I don't don't how many they take. Now is the time you should be checking to see when the aps are due for the schools that you want to go to & reviewing them to see what they require. Lastly buckle down immediately & try to finish this year w/ the best GPA you can. Good Luck!!!

Q: What courses are available for a makeup artist?
What courses would you need to take if you wanted to become a makeup artist. Explain in full detail please Please give location, how long it lasts, who teaches it, what do they teach, are they expericined at it and so on. I would greatly appreciate any information as I would love to be a makeup artist. Its my dream.

A: It depends on what kind of MUA you want to be. I have a friend who went to California to a film school to learn the trade of Special Effects Makeup. That may be an option. For the more traditional route (fashion, salon, TV, Photos) you can find beauty schools in your area here: http://www.beautyschoolsdirectory.com/faq/state_req.php Look under Esthetics. More importantly, learn all you can on your own, including getting a job at a cosmetics counter or just hanging out in Sephora and asking questions. Practice on your friends and then take photos, so you can see how makeup translates on film.
