Q: What to do in the area where Washington university is?
For spring break, my mom, brother and i are going to St. louis missouri to visit Wash U or Washington University for my brother. What are some cute little shops or places to eat or see there? thanks

A: Delmar Loop, aka the Loop, which is close to the university is popular with college students. It has some shopping and restaurants. Theres also the central west end where they have a bunch of cultural restaurants. Also nearby is the town of Clayton, it's not really a 'touristy' place, but there are some cute little places to eat (PF Changs, J Bucks), and the Galleria Mall is nearby too. This website is aimed more towards college students, but it has a bunch of places to go to eat and talks about the neighborhoods: http://stlouis.metromix.com/home/producer_guide/college-guide/926399/content Other attractions in the area are Forest Park, which has the St. Louis Zoo, the botanical gardens, the st. louis arch, city museum, i can't remember the name of it but there's this art gallery in Forest Park. Have fun in STL =)

Q: What do you think of the University of Washington?
I'm deciding between schools. I don't know much about the University of Washington. I'd like some opinions from people that have actually attended UW.

A: I haven't gone there, but I've visited there. The surrounding area is VERY cool for a college student. It's very funky and bohemian with book stores, coffee shops and record shops. Every part of Seattle is pretty easily accessible and Seattle is just cool in general. The campus is also huge. Probably one of the more fun places to go to college in the US to be honest with you...

Q: Can I get into the university of washington?
Hello Unfortunately i got rejected from university of illinois and university of texas at austin. Now, im almost sure that university of washington will not admit me too. I got 1280 from sat and all my application is ok. Do i have a chance?

A: It's more than just your SAT score, My SAT was 1310 and I was accepted to the UW. You have to have quality extras and impress the hell out of Admissions. You always have a shot, but to be perfectly honest, it's a very competitive school to get into. If you couldn't get into Illinois, the odds of being accepted into UW aren't the greatest. Sorry.

Q: Does the University of Washington do Early Action decisions for being accepted?
Does University of Washington do early action acceptance if you turn your application in early enough? I'm a junior right now and I am wondering if I did my application early next year if i could be notified significantly earlier so I don't have to wait until March to be notified.

A: I think they do, do early acceptances. It's pretty much that they review your application and then you either get accepted, rejected, or put on the waiting list. I know people who applied in october/november and they found out in december. I, on the other hand, turned my application in on the last day and found out a month later, while I have friends who turned their applications in before mine who heard back at about the same time or are still waiting to hear back. I think it really does depend. Just remember, rather turn in a good application later than an insufficient one early.

Q: How close is Seattle University to the University of Washington?
My friend is applying to University of Washington and i applied to SeattleU...just wondering if well be close enough to hang out. Seattle University - http://seattleu.edu/ University of Washington, Seattle Campus - http://www.washington.edu/

Capital hill is the redlight district and there is a large population of gays there. plus its right there in downtown seattle

Q: Does anyone know that University of Washington like the student from out of state or in-state more?
I am currently studying at washington state, and now I want to transfer to University of Washington. I am a resident of the state, but unfortunately, I am not independent, and my parents are not a resident of Washington state. Therefore, it hurts my residency and will it lower my chance to get into UW? therefore, in term of tuition purpose, I am not a resident.

A: Any state university gives preference to in-state students, not because they like them better, but because they are state-funded to educate the citizens of that state. This doesn't mean, however, that they won't take an outstanding out-of-state student. The problem you have is quite different. You are talking about transferring up in quality - from what is primarily a teaching school to what is primarily a research school - and that is usually discouraged.

Q: Tips for admission into the University of Washington?
Can anyone who recently got accepted into the University of Washington give me some tips on how you were successful? I'm a transfer student with probably not so amazing grades, but I have a bit of potential. I really wanna make my personal statement great. I just want some advice, thank you!

A: i haven't been accepted or rejected yet but i just applied and my sister is a senior there. For your personal statement, really show how you are different - every year they get a record number of applicants so each admissions officer reads like a hundred a day and they all start sounding the same. If there is a reason for why your grades are not so good, say why, especially if it is for financial or personal hardships. Other than that, i would say you have done all you can do in regards to grades and tests at this point. Good luck!

Q: Can Anybody give me photos of the beautiful George Washington University campus in Washington DC?

A: The pictures below give an impression of the university buildings and campus. The pictures are usually taken by amateur photographers and have been uploaded to the allaboutuni.com website. We strive to present a positive and objective impression of each university campus.

Q: Is the University of Washington a good choice for pre-med?
I am just about to enter my senior year of high school, and I am looking at UW because it is the closest university to where I live. I would love to go somewhere like Northwestern, Duke, or Johns Hopkins, but I don't know if I could afford those schools or if I could get into them. Would the University of Washington be a good choice for me as long as I perform well and fulfill all of the pre-med requirements?

A: The medical school at UW is ranked as one of the best in the USA along with Michigan, Harvard (with Mass General) and the schools you mentioned. You cannot do much (if any) better considering the higher costs of going out of state.

Q: Do I have what it takes to go to University of Washington?
I want to go to University of Washington both for pre-med and medical. If throughout high school I accomplish: 4.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) 9 AP classes waterpolo all four years swimming all four years-captain senior year. key club all four years volunteering at hospitals once im 16. is all that enough, because i heard uw is fairly easy to get into?

A: I would imagine that would be plenty to get you into the U of W. But you'll have to apply to find out for sure. Also, having money would help.
