Q: What GPA will i need to get in highschool to getr accepted into the University of Minnesota?
( I am talking about the main campus in minneapolis.)
A: 3.5 and up depending on what college you are applying for. Also they consider SAT and ACT scores.
Q: Is the Minnesota State University of Mankato a good school to get a degree in political science?
Is it hard to get into?
A: idk about the poli sci program, but its not that hard to get into, decent gpa and ACT score of like 18-20 and you get in... its an okay school but it is a state school... its lots of fun tho.
Q: Question about getting into University of Minnesota?
Okay, this is really creeping me out. On the status check for the Univeristy of Minnesota, it says, "Your application has been reviewed and a letter was mailed on January 28, 2009."
However, my friends' status checks say that they got accepted by saying, "Congratulations! You have been admitted to the College of Liberal Arts. Your official letter was mailed on January 29, 2009."
I am really worried that I have been rejected/deferred. What do you guys think?
A: I'm sorry, but you probably didn't get in. Especially if multiple people you know got the second message. However, only time will tell for sure.
Q: Is Southwest Minnesota State University good for MBA as compared to SIBM in Pune?and what about the placements
In SIBM Placements are about 10lakh/annum.what about the Southwest Minnesota State University...? How much is the minimum Package i can get from US after doing MBA in SMSU in US? And what about the expenses and the atmosphere in US in SMSU..
A: Look in the Official MBA Guide to see what SW Minn State students get upon graduation. I'm sure it is more than students in India.
Q: Anyone know the SAT and ACT scores needed to get into the University of Minnesota?
I just would like to know so I can see if I need to get a tutor or not! Thank you to anyone who helps!
A: According to the Princeton Review (see link below) the average SAT score is 1210/1600 and the average ACT is 25.
75% of admitted students have a math SAT score of 580 or better, a verbal score of 540 or better and a writing score of 600 or better. 75% have an ACT of 23 or better.
The University of Minnesota is more selective with out-of-state students than with in-state students. They have made the decision to have a large campus in the Twin Cities rather a number of smaller universities with one premier campus (like California's Berkeley or North Carolina's Chapel Hill). It is possible to get a degree there without getting a great education -- but it is also possible to get a degree there that is as good as the most prestigious universities in the country.
Good luck
Q: Does anyone know the deal w/ the seats at the University of Minnesota Games?
Is it 1st come 1st serve on the single game seats(sit where you want) or are you assigned a row and seat number once you get your tix?
p.s. How's the tailgating?
A: no
Q: Is the University of Minnesota a good college?
They keep sending me me stuff in the mail and email me all the time. they want me to come visit the campus, which i will this summer. is it a good school? can someone give me a link?
A: The University of Minnesota is not a good college - it is a great college - see: http://www1.umn.edu/twincities/index.php and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_Of_Minnesota You would have an incredible educational experience at this BigTen school.
Good Luck!!!
Q: Taking online courses at University of Minnesota?
Is it possible to take an online German Class at the University of Minnesota? Im pretty fluent, I just want to learn all of the grammatical stuff and what not because when I went to Germany I learned spoken german and not business German.
A: According to their website, the only German class included in their distance learning program is German I, elementary German, which probably won't be helpful if you are fluent.
Q: I am not sure which University to chose ST.Thomas University of Minnesota or Augsburg College?
I received call from both universities, but still not sure which one has better carrier service and rank in Master of Arts in education program. Thank you in advance :-)
A: In this situation I recommend that you visit both campuses, take tours, and see what you like about each one. Find out about the specific curriculums at both institutions as they may vary. If after that, neither of the two stands out as the superior choice, ask career services at both institutions about the placement of their recent graduates from the MA in Education program. This may be helpful in finding out where their graduating are getting jobs and will give you an idea of your job prospects once you graduate. Lastly, if none of the previous things have made one program stand out over the other, I'd recommend choosing whichever one will cost you less in tuition and fees.
Q: What is the minimum GPA to get accepeted to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities?
A: 2.6 if you play sports
Q: I got a 26 on my ACT and I have a 3.95 GPA, will I get into the University of Minnesota?
I have the above credentials, I've taken challenging courses in high school (AP, honors, etc.), I'm in National Honors Society, and I'm the Senior Editor of my school's paper. I am from South Dakota, and I've already applied. My mediocre ACT score is the only thing that worries me -- will I get in?
A: Minnesota has a different model from other states. Many states have a number of universities & have one that is much more elite than the others. Berkeley, Michigan, Virginia, UNC at Chapel Hill are all examples. These schools are very selective.
Minnesota decided to have a large university that offers a first class education -- but is less selective than those other public universities.
You will probably ge tin. You might think about takinjg the SAT exam. You might get a better score on that than on the ACT.
Q: Can you carry a gun on a school campus (such as University of Minnesota) if you have a Utah Carry and Conceal.?
I have a minnesota carry and conceal and a Utah Carry and conceal. Minnesota states you cannot carry a gun on school grounds, but I am confused because Utah carry and conceal says all state and federal laws apply but I am exempt from carrying a gun on or about school property.
A: Scott, why would you want to? Check with the campus and local police to determine the local regulations . "Utah carry and conceal says all state and federal laws apply " See what applies.
Q: Does anyone have any input about the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities?
I am looking for a school near me to go to in the next couple years. (I'm a junior in high school right now.) While doing a college survey thing, I found that the major I'm interested in is available at this university (as opposed to one of my previous university choices). Additionally, I'm pretty sure the tuition there counts as in-state for me (I live in Wisconsin).
So, I was wondering, what sorts of things can you people tell me about it? How's the campus? What about the professors? Are they generally helpful? What about class size? I know a lot of students go there... Are most classes auditorium-sized? I really prefer one-on-one-ish classes... If it makes any difference, I'm going to study international relations, so those are the sorts of classes I'd be taking.
Thanks in advance for any input! I really appreciate it! :-D
A: I am a Goldie Gopher. When I went there, it was OK. Professors are extremely opinionated and close minded, but they are nice about it. Do not even think about trying to get housing, as the housing situation has only gotten worse since I left. Also, you definitely must get a parking permit, as parking is a bitch.
Dinky town has better shopping, and Shuang Cheng is great Chinese food. Stadium village sucks, unless you like to get piss drunk. Then it rocks. Koffman Student Union is a good place to hang, as it is central to the U.
Get Rollerblades, as 1st year students for a liberal arts major are screwed. Since you want to study int. relations, get to know the west bank. get a room in the projects, and the campus is a light little hike for you, if you do not want to get a car.
Good school though, and intl. relations is a solid major from the U. I was an East Asian Studies major. Email me if yo have any other questions.
Q: GPA needed to transfer to Minnesota State University, Montako from a community college out of state?
I have a 3.5 gpa am I competitive?
A: I believe it's Minnesota State University "MANKATO." Not "Montako."
Q: Is the University of Minnesota Morris a good school?
I am thinking about transferring there.
A: It is considered one of the best public liberal arts colleges in the nation. It is very isolated, so you have to be prepared for that kind of rural living.
I suggest visiting a few times before you transfer (and since your first school apparently wasn't a good fit, make sure you know why it didn't agree with you. avoid making the same mistake twice.)
