Q: Where can I find art schools or universities in Cupertino California?
Where can I find art schools or universities in Cupertino California? how far is San Fran. from Cupertino?

A: In Cupertino?? Cupertino is not very big.. I never heard anything great about it. (I'm from San Jose, just a few miles from there). San Fransisco is your best bet.. Try Academy of Arts or Art Institute.. Just North of Cupertino. Edit: It's very close. It's about 30 minutes (40 miles) drive from Cupertino. You may also consider San Jose (12 miles from Cupertino) or Santa Cruz (Also close by), or Berkeley. Great thing about Cupertino is that it's smack in the middle of the bay area. Lot's of great career opportunities and great selection of schools in the bay area..

Q: Which are the universities/colleges that have Art schools?
I know that Yale College has its own School of Art. What other top universities have art schools? Are they good?

A: RISD, the Rhode Island School of Design is an amazing art school and they are now partnered with Brown University to offer a five year duel degree. It seems like an awesome program because you get the best of both worlds - the creative verve of a top art school & the Ivy League university experience. I'm applying for the program. http://risd.brown.edu/ Yale's School of Art is amazing & incredibly respected. Other schools I can personally recommend from visiting & reading about their art programs: Stanford Vassar Bard College Cal Institute of Arts UCLA Columbia This link might also be useful: http://gradschool.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.usnews.com%2Fusnews%2Fedu%2Fgrad%2Frankings%2Farts%2Fbrief%2Fartsp2_brief.php ~ Pax : )

My german boyfriend is considering going to college with me in Florida, but are there any universities that accept grades from German school? Thank you so much!

Q: Which Shanghai universities and schools hire Foreign English teachers? Is there a good list?
I'm planning to move to Shanghai and also want to visit some English Corners. Does anyone know of any?

A: Mail me with your details. I have a Chinese friend who works in the International Office at East China Normal University in the middle of Shanghai. Normal just means it's a teaching university - i.e. Chinese learning English and Chinese learning to teach Chinese as a foreign language. I'll talk to him and he'll get in touch with you because he's quite well networked in Shanghai.

Q: How do you get into the business schools of universities especially the UCs?
I'm pretty sure you can't apply straight to the business school after graduating from high school so I was wondering what you are supposed to do to get into the business schools. What majors to take and how long before you get in?

A: You are right, you can't apply to business school with just a high school diploma. First you have to get a bachelors degree which take about four years to complete at a university. I guess some majors you might want to consider are economics, business admin, accounting etc. But I don't think you have to major in something that is business related, you can choose any major as long as you meet the requirements for business school.

Q: Why do we need so many redundant schools, universities and teachers?
Since we have the Internet, courses can be made available, maintained/updated/improved on the Internet. There is a huge opportunity, start small, grow with feedback loops.

A: Not everybody has access to the Internet. There are people in the world, and even in the US, who spend their money on food and necessities instead of the Internet and a computer. However, public education is still free and accessible to all. You know, not everyone enjoys technology enough to learn from it exclusively. I've taken on-line courses, and they're not bad, but real learning comes from interaction with others. Yes, you can interact via blogs and message boards, but classrooms offer real-time interactions every single time. You can't beat that for effective education. I also have yet to see an on-line course that modifies and accommodates for learning needs and differences. What if someone is a tactile learner? How does the Internet work for that? What about the auditory learner? Speakers and a microphone (and a new program), but at what cost? Sorry, folks, but I don't see a computer replacing a caring, professional educator. If it does, watch out. The end can't be too far off from there.

Q: Are the Cal State Universities good schools?
My goal is to go to one of those schools :) Oh, and I want to major in Public Relations. That's the main one. Anything else in Communications also interests me, like journalism.

A: Hi! I am a Cal State Student and I love it! They're good schools. Budget cuts are cutting freshmen enrollment :-(. However, it isn't impossible to get in (it's easier to get into schools in less populated cities). I am very happy here, and my education is challenging and rewarding. What I love most about the Cal State is that there are so many locations to choose from! Well, also, the cost is manageable to graduate without debt and still get a good education and meet losts of great people and attend tons of great concerts and events!

Q: Which Universities/ Pharmacy Schools in USA will not charge me (as a Canadian citizen) any international fees?
i wanted to go to pharmcy school and its hard to get in here (U of Toronto) so i was considering to apply in some universities in States...i didn't wanna pay international fees coz its just too much. So I'll only apply to states that don't need Canadians (esp. from Ontario) to pay international fees.

A: You will be considered an 'international student' at almost all Universities across the United States. I am not too sure if it is possible to go into a well recognized American University as a student who studied outside of America and not pay international fees.

Q: Are there universities/schools outside the US, CAN, GB and Aus that teach in English?
I'm primarily interested in exploring math programs of leading countries like Singapore. I know Singapore math is available in English, but I was wondering if any other countries have educational material in English?

A: Well, I WAS going to offer up St. George's Medical School in Grenada (Caribbean Island). Until I read the rest of your post...
