Q: Will I get accepted to the University of Kansas next year?
I have a 3.86 gpa and a 1150 sat score math and crit reading. I want to go there do you think i'll get in?
A: Your GPA is outstanding; nicely done. And although your SAT score is a bit low for some schools, you should be set up well for KU. Even if you live out of state, their admissions office only requires a 2.0 and a 1090, so you are in really good shape. Best of luck to you!
Q: Which school should I attend, University of Kansas or Northern Illinois University ?
I am from the Chicago area and don't know what to choose. NIU is closer to home, about and hour away. But KU is farther and a more acknowledged school. I am also a huge basketball fan and a big fan of the Jayhawks which have won the national title.
A: kansas
Q: What does "Phog" and "Rock Chalk" mean at Kansas University?
I love the Jayhawks, but aren't sure what those terms mean.
A: Forrest Clare "Phog" Allen (as in Allen Fieldhouse) was the Kansas basketball coach. Known as the "father of basketball coaching", Allen was himself coached by the inventor of the game at Kansas. He also coached a number of notable players, including Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp.
"Rock chalk" refers to the limestone "chalk rock" that was used to build the campus buildings. The phrase is used in the school chant. More on the history below.

A: Probably the University of Kansas... There isn't much else.
Q: IS Kansas State University good in basketball this year?
The hiring of Bob Huggins was great and a 10-4 non-con record is good, but is KSU for real?
A: oh yeah
Q: So do people owe Kansas University an apology?
Many pundits thought KU didn't deserve to play against Virginia Tech in a BCS bowl. Even if the Jayhawks don't win, they have definitely played well.
Rock Chalk!
Dana
A: kinda.. cause most of us picked VT to rout Kansas.. and How many of us pick Kansas to win?
Q: Why are University of Kansas fans so obnoxious?
i've recently enrolled at ku for my masters. i must say i have never been around such pretentious, obnoxious sports fans in my life. they are so annoying to the point i have to debate wether or not i want to support their team even though i go to school there. they are an embarassment to their school in my opinion. why are they like that?
A: you'll understand in about 2 months. once you've lived in kansas for i while, you'll realize that you'd be pissed at life if you had to live here too...

Q: is Kansas university a good school to go to for computer science?
A: good dept overall, however, watch Prof Steinberg, the back end has some nasty gas streams while in class, my friend found the 3rd row the minimum distance to be from the front of the lecture hall
Q: Why is the University of Kansas referred to as KU?
The University of Oklahoma is the same way (OU). I thought it would be the other way around (UK, UO).
A: It does not seem to be known why the University of Kansas is abbreviated KU, but it has been referred to as such since the late 19th century. The name of the university as written in Latin on the seal is an explanation offered, but there is no agreement; see the source below for information.
