Q: Northern Arizona University Transfer Advice?
I live in PA and considering applying to Northern Arizona University as a transfer student. However, I have read a few negative reviews on bad advisors for transfer students. Would really like to go here but if I'm going to be wasting money and time because of bad advisors then I may reconsider. Is it really as bad as they say it is? Thanks.

A: I live in Phx but went up to see the campus on one of their 'orientation' days or something like that. But they have them scheduled at different times of the year. They show you all over the campus, the dorms, different buildings, and they serve you lunch! Its an amazing campus, I plan on going there after I get my associates degree. If you're able to get there for an orientation you can ask to speak with an advisor for transfer students. Most of the time, if you get along they'll be able to help you through the whole proccess. I would reccomend going to an orientation of any school that you're considering attending. Good Luck!... Maybe I'll see you there!

Q: Would it be cheaper to live on campus at Northern Arizona University or in an apartment?
I'm trying to figure this out and I'm completely confused. If I were to live on campus I would like to live in a suite ( with 3 other people ) but I'm not sure which one is less expensive. Thanks

A: I don't know about NAU, but usually they come out about the same after you factor in food and stuff. I would definitely recommend on campus, it's more convenient and a better experience and easier to meet people.

Q: Is Arizona State University a good university to attend?
I am possibly going to transfer there to finish my bachelor's in Biology. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not it's a good university? thanks!

A: The Honors college is very good (rated the best in the country). Otherwise it is pretty average. Not bad mind you - just average. Thanks Bill

Q: How can I convince my parents to send me to Arizona State University?
so i live in New Jersey and got accepted to Arizona State as well as Drexel. I am an only child and they want to keep me closeby so they want me to attend Drexel but I want to go to Arizona State. How can i convince them?

A: Tell them that you want to experience somewhere new

Q: What happened to Northern Arizona University's NCAA hockey team?
I know in the 80's NAU had a NCAA Div. 1 hockey team, but what happened to it? Why did it leave? And why are there so few NCAA hockey teams out west (CA, AZ, WA, OR etc)? If anyone who went there could answer this it would be great. thanks.

A: From what I understand those states never had NCAA hockey but they do have ACHA hockey. Last I checked NAU hockey is still around and so are hockey clubs for ASU and University of Arizona.

Q: Is the dance team at Arizona State University hard to make?
I have danced competitively for about 6 years. I am in a dance company and we do every style.

A: Every collegiate dance team is very competitive.

Q: I am going to Arizona State University and I don't know which major to choose, can somebody help?
Well the two majors I'm deciding from is Computer Science under Computer & Information Sciences and Computer Engineering under Engineering. Which is the difference between them and what jobs can I get with them. I really want to study something that has to do with computers but I'm not sure what to choose I have weeks to decide before I go to Orientation.

A: you can either choose one as your major and the other as your minor or double major in both. otherwise i wouldnt freak out about not deciding between the two going into a orientation. if you get the time you should meet with an advisor. also suggest the second link below and see if both of these majors require the same classes. if so it would make it easier to major in both. check with this catalog link if they do http://www.asu.edu/aad/catalogs/general/bacca-degrees.html

Q: Full ride to Arizona State University or CAP program for University of Texas?
My son didn't get accepted to UT, but was offered CAP which requires that he takes 30 hours at another UT system university maintain a 3.2 GPA, then will be guaranteed admission to UT-Austin. He also has a great full ride offer from Arizona State University.. hard decision, but UT has always been his dream.

A: Ultimately, money is not worth not getting what you get to succeed. That being said, ASU has wonderful opporutnities that are equivalent to UT-Austins. The Barrett Honors College is really what makes it shine though. If he is not interested in the BHC, I would probably say go to UT-Austin via CAP. Ultimately, I suggest that your son visit ASU and stay the night with students, if he has not done so.

Q: How hard is it to get accepted to arizona state university?
i live in new york and i got a 1510 on my SAT and my overall avg is a 79... i really suck at math and did bad in chemistry but i was aondering if i would get accepted with those scores if anyone knows?? thanks, plz answer

A: Yeah, you'll get accepted. I'm a sophomore at ASU--- I love it. It's what you make of it. They accept EVERYONE. I'm not even kidding. I have friends that didn't even take the SAT and they got in.

Q: Moving to Arizona for Arizona State University?
i am planning on going to Arizona State University from Chicago, IL. how is it over there? is it a safe place? and what is it like over there? i don't know if i wanna take the risk to go there and not like it... what do u guys suggest. and what about from Chicago to Ball State University in Muncie, IN???

A: I'm from New York and I began my asu semester in the fall. It was one of the safest places I been to in a while being that I'm from new york. I was living on the tempe campus and felt comfortable in my shoes. So I say its safe depending on the people u hang wit.

Q: What is the Non-Residential cost per semester at Arizona State University?
Im very interested in attending ASU once I graduate from high school. I found the requirements that are needed on their web site (which I think I'll be able to make), but what i couldnt find was the cost per semester for non-residents. If someone could please send me some info or anything about the costs for non-residents at ASU, it would help me ALOT! Thank You!

A: ASU kind of hides the information on their website, but it is there. For non-residents starting in Spring 2009, the cost is $826 per credit hour. Full time enrollment of 12 credits per semester would be about $8,976. This is cheaper than in-state tuition for many big universities back east. They also have an online tool for calculating the estimated costs of attendance, including fees, housing, and meal plans. http://students.asu.edu/cost-attendance

Q: How much would it cost for a student going to Arizona State University on campus?
I'm thinking about transferring from a community college. Thanks for taking time for this question.

A: It depends on your major etc. http://www.asu.edu/sbs/tuition_semester_selection.html This link will help you figure total costs: http://www.finaid.org/calculators/costprojector.phtml

Q: Is Arizona State University a selective school?
Is this a hard school to get into if youre an Arizona resident? and also the University of Arizona as well.

A: They are both not incredibly selective, but University of Arizona is more selective than Arizona State University. If you do decently well in school, you should have no problem getting in especially since you're an in-state student which also makes it easier.

Q: How many deficiencies does Northern Arizona University allow?
I have a bad grade in one of my classes and I need to know if I can still go to NAU with it.

A: I thought everyone at NAU was deficient:0

Q: What would be the best dorm for me to stay in at Arizona State University?
I'm going to be a Freshman majoring in Kinesiology. I enjoy partying and socializing. But I want a dorm that has good living conditions.

A: im also going to be a freshman and i just visited there. I applied for the hasayampa housing which is one of the newer housing units. it looks a little industrial and a bit out of place, but it seemed like one of the better ones when i visited. they might have virtual tours that you can look at online but the location of hasayampa is pretty good
