Q: What are some accredited Universities that offer online MBA courses?
My cousin, due to his work travels a lot and would like to finish a MBA online due to his heavy schedule.
Preferably a Canadian University
thanks :)
sorry, not an MBA, a master's degree
A: The MBA is a Masters degree. Consult the Official MBA Guide. It's a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and other criteria. It's the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.
Q: Where can I get an education guide with all the accredited universities ?
A: Best website in my opinion is http://educationguide2009.blogspot.com it gives you a free education guide with a nice list, EXACTLY what you are looking for
Q: Do any accredited American Universities have a parapsychology department?
A: Franklin Pierce University (US) a fully accredited university offers a minor in parapsychology with a major in psychology at the Bachelors level.
The University of Arizona (US) a fully accredited school has what amounts to a parapsychology lab (not department) under the direction of Dr. Gary Schwartz. I have provided a link below.
The medical school at the University of Virginia (US) another fully accredited school has what could be called a parapsychology lab (they call it Division of Perceptual Studies) under the direction of Dr. Bruce Greyson. I have included a link below.
So, no there is not a parapsychology department but there are fully accredited US universities that engage in the study of parapsychological topics.

Q: Is there a government website or any that lists accredited colleges and universities?
A: Here you go.
http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/
Q: From where I can do an on-line master’s programme from an accredited university with sponsorships?
I want to do online masters programme from an accredited university. I am not looking at very high cost options but a recognized programme. If I opt for doing it from US universities then the costs are very high. I do not know about other options (may be from India?) Kindly advise.
A: Try Western Governors University.
Also check www.mbainfo.com if wanting a mba
Q: What are some good accredited online colleges and universities?
A: The state universities and community colleges will be the best and least expensive way to further your education online. Usually degrees obtained online from state universities and colleges will be no different than a degree granted to a student sitting in class.
Stay away from the for-profits because of high cost. Some will be reasonable, but most, like University of Phoenix, overcharge.
If you are just starting your college education or have less than 60 semester credit hours, try your local community college first. They may have an online AA degree program. If they don't, try other community colleges in your state.
Once you have an AA degree, you can enroll in an online bachelor's degree completion program at one of the state universities. Many state universities now have online degrees. The following are some websites to get you started.

Finally, when you choose a school, make sure it is at least regionally accredited. You can check accreditation at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/search.asp
Good luck
Q: How do I know if a university is accredited?
I am trying to find a list of accredited universities. Specifically schools with Forensic Psychology programs.
A: You are smart to ask. There are two things to look at, and you need to be careful, because a lot of schools claim accreditations in a slimy way. First, there are regional accreditors for the overall university, such as WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and Middle States. These look at both the financial viability of the institution and its ability to deliver on its mission. Beyond this, many disciplines have their own accrediting bodies, and you may not be able to transfer your coursework if the department or School isn't accredited by these. For example, I teach in a business school, and we don't accept units from someone who did not graduate from an AACSB-accredited business school for business courses. I've had a lot of students say, "But my school was accredited!" and it turns out that they were accredited by a regional accreditor (or by an accrediting organization with lower standards, like ACBSP). So you need to check the university's overall accreditation, and then look to see if the discipline itself has one or more accrediting organizations, find out which is most respected, and then look for that too.

Q: Where can I get a list of accredited online colleges and universities? Good ones too.?
Its hard to set time to finish school with a family. I need some assistance. I will finish no matter what!
A: You would be WAY better off finishing your degree at a real college, even if takes several years, than throwing money at one of these fly by night "for profit" schools.
For a good account of the most famous online school, see the article about the University of Phoenix in the New York Times Sunday edition of Feb 11, 2007. Check it out, you'll be really glad you did!!!

Q: Are accredited universities certifying paranormal investigators?
Until I began reading the Science - Other YQA I'd never heard of paranormal investigators except in the comedy Ghost Busters a couple of decades ago.
Suddenly I'm seeing a surprising number of them posting here, claiming to have credentials in paranormal investigations.
A few web searches didn't turn up any accredited universities or tech schools offering the programs. But they did reveal that a lot of websites are selling 'paranormal investigation' equipment.
And a few of the sites seemed to imply the ghost busters are charging money for their investigations. Certainly they have money tied up in equipment.
Is training and certification for these activities being conducted by reputable, accredited schools? Are the certifications recognized or required by any state in the US as part of a requirement to investigate paranormal phenomena?
psi: Thanks. I was really more interested in the training these people who call themselves 'paranormal investigators' are getting. Particularly the credibility of the sources of the training.
And I'm interested in this 'certification' so many claim to have. Certification of what? Certification by whom?
TR: Thanks. I read the Flim-Flamel page also. From the answers here it appears 'certification' is just rhetoric intended to impress those who haven't jotted down a self-certification so they could call themselves that.
Gracias, J
A: Here is the only person I know of to actually have a Ph.D. in parapsychology from an accredited U.S. university (see 1st link). He is truly unique. As far as certifying paranormal investigators, there are no accredited universities I know of that will even touch this.
EDIT: A quick search seems to indicate that individual ghost hunter organizations may offer their own certification programs, so it's a very informal thing (see 2nd link). However, I did find that Flamel College (I like to call it Flim-Flamel College) does have a certification course (see 3rd link). It's a far cry from accredited, though.
Q: Where can I find a list of accredited On-line Universities?
A: For whichever distance learning program you select, double check its accreditation (even if it appears on a list of "approved" or "legitimate" colleges). The college should be accredited by one of the six regional accreditation agencies that are listed on the Council for Higher Education Accreditation website at http://www.chea.org/default.asp.
Remember that even if the college claims that it is accredited, many diploma mills have created bogus agencies in the hope of seeming legitimate. Do the appropriate research and you should be fine.
Best of luck to you!
