Q: Does any one know 3 colleges or technical schools for an Orthopedic Surgeon?
i cant seem to find it on the internet. Also i wanted to know if it takes the same amount of time to become a physician as it does to become an orthopedic surgeon in medical school.

A: You can't find it because there's no such thing. In order to become an orthopedic surgeon, you first earn a Bachelor's in pre-med or another major [but you must take the pre-requisites in science and math] and take the MCATs. You'll need at least a 3.5 GPA and high MCATs. Then you do four years of medical school, after which you must "match" or an internship [one year], then a residency [3-5 or more years - surgery specialties are the longest residencies]. You may also need to complete a fellowship. Technically, you are a physician when you earn your M.D., but you can't practice anywhere until you complete the three parts of the National Boards and complete the residency.

Q: Good computer science technical schools?
I don't think I want to go back to school at a traditional college. What are some good technical colleges that offer programming and say apache ?

A: ITT, Devry, Etc. Check your local community college also for specific programs they may offer. If you are going the infrastructure route, you may be able to squeak out CCNP and land a pretty decent job in just a couple of years.

Q: What do you think about trade/ vocational or Technical schools verses college?

A: Are you a thinker or a doer? How did you do in school? Can you express thoughts on paper, completely, accurately? Are you creative and can do original thought? Are you willing to spend a lot of time learning about things you'll don't "really" need to know - unless you plan to play Jeopardy some day? It's good to have a skill/trade that pays the bills, then you can pay for college.

Q: are technical schools good for people that want really successful careers?
i need to know

A: I am not sure where you live.....I am in the USA and there are tons of technical schools here, for so many different subjects. Based on what I have seen and heard, getting a specific skill is essential. This is what employers want, along with experience. That being said, I am not a big fan of the so-called career and tech schools. They are usually very very expensive and I do not think employers look as favorably upon them as they do community colleges. I strongly recommend checking out your local community/junior colleges first to see if they have what interests you. You are definitely on the right track in wanting to get a skill. I know lots of people with BAs and even Master degrees who owe huge loans and are struggling to find work or are in low-paying jobs. The people I know who have the specific skills and experience are the ones who are in great jobs and have job security. An employer does not want only a piece of paper; he wants to know what you can do and what you have done. I have a BA with honors. It is too broad and I have never been able to find a career. I am going to a community college, starting next week, to get a certification. Yes, I will have to work my way up, but after a couple of years, I will have that experience, a real skill. Not only that, I will not be in huge debt. My school costs less than 5,000. There are 2 tech schools near me who are charging 14,000 and 15,000 for the same program, but mine has a special approval and internship-it is the best one. So, be very careful as to where you go to school. Realize you probably won't start out making a whole lot of $ (depends), but if you pay your dues and get experience, you will find great pay and stability. Just choose something that there is a market for in your area-check before you sign up for school.

Q: I need to know what are the best technical schools in wayne county of michigan state?

A: Henry Ford Community College foicuses on technology, especially automobile related ....a very focused school. http://www.hfcc.edu/about_us/ Wayne County Community College has a wide array of programs, both technology and non-tech. http://www.wcccd.edu/academic_programs/index.asp Lawrence Tech is probably the best...but it is in Oakland County, which neighbors Wayne County. http://www.ltu.edu/

Q: Is it easier to go to technical school or a university for radiology?
I was planning to go to Armstrong Atlantic State University and take some core classes to get the feel of college. But someone told me, if i knew that i was going to major in radiology then i could go technical school and start right way at what i want to do. So can i get some ideas and your input on the best road to go? Well either schools affect my salary in the long run? Which one is the quicker way to get my "dream job"?

A: I don't know how it works at that particular school, but it does not matter what school you go to as long as it is accredited. I actually recommend hospital programs, which give you a certificate - better training, less money. A degree doesn't make you any more money as a tech; it's only necessary if you want to go into management or teaching. You can always go back to get your degree after you are a working tech. That's what I did.

Q: I have a set of air corps technical schools books from 1939 labelled restricted. Can I get in trouble selling
These books are in excellent condition. Just worried about the restrcted content.

A: I doubt that there is anything still "classified" in a tech book from 1939. Any real worth is their historical value anyways - not technical knowledge.

Q: What is the absolute best technical school for website design?
Can anyone advise? I am talking like, the Harvard of technical schools. Thanks!

A: The real, honest answer... that school doesn't exist. Employers will always choose a candidate with a good portfolio over one who went to school, any school, and got any degree. Web design is a "proof of the pudding is under the crust" kind of area, and all that matters is what you can produce, not what you know. The good news is, you can save a lot of time & money by building Web sites instead of going to school. Good luck!

Q: Would going to a technical school decrease my chances of getting into a good college?
I'm in 8th grade, and I just got accepted into a technical school. My parents had doubts about even letting me apply, because they're afraid I won't get into a good college because it's a technical school. The school has AP and honors classes, so would my chances of going to a good college be affected? Thanks.

A: Sounds like it has all of the offerings that a high school has with the added bonus of having a technical skill taught as well. I would try to take as many upper level courses, such as the CP and AP classes that you can. Keep up your GPA, take the SAT and/or the ACT, and I would think that the college world will have many opportunities available to you. If you have an idea where you would like to go to college, you could call a couple and see if they have any knowledge about technical school affecting entrance into their institution. As long as you get a high school diploma, score well on the ACT or SAT, I think you can go just about anywhere you want to. Good luck to you and congrats on getting accepted into your technical school! :o)
