Q: What A levels should i take to be a secondary school teacher ?
i want to teach secondary school students but do not know what a levels to take. I think i want to teach science, biology psychically and was thinking of taking biology phycology and sociology with 1 other a level but im not sure which one. Maybe maths. What do i need to be a secondary school teacher ? i meant biology specifically btw. and its not because biology is the easiest as its not, chemistry is, but because i enjoy it more than the others its more fasinating how the body works and how to treat diseases and stuff.

A: You should teach what you feel you will enjoy more, however there does seem to be a lot of biology teachers around (and out of a job) compared to chemistry and physics teachers. I would suggest instead of sociology or psychology (unless its something you're very interested in, and want to study further as the A level just skims the top) I would drop that and do chemistry or physics as well. That way, even if you do choose to teach biology, you can teach chemistry/physics too. I know my school did that with a few teachers because they're very hard pushed to find them.

Q: Need help writing about my work experience in a secondary school?
Basically i did one week work experience in a secondary school as i want to apply for my Secondary PGCE in maths. I don't know how to structure my experience. Which topics should i cover?

A: Cover almost everything! What did you learn from doing the work experience? What were your strengths? How have you improved any weaknesses? What did you do with the students? How did you feel your work experience went? What makes you think you deserve a place on the PGCE course? How can you/did you motivate the students to learn Maths? What did you enjoy about doing your work experience in a secondary school? Why did you do it (besides gaining experience? What makes you want to teach? Good luck!

A: School Days (Chuck Berry): Up in the morning and out to school The teacher is teaching the golden rule American history and practical maths Study 'em hard and hoping to pass Working your fingers right down to the bone And the guy behind you won't leave you alone Ring ring goes the bell The cook in the lunch room is ready to sell You're lucky if you can find a seat You're fortunate if you have time to eat Back in the classroom open your books Gee but the teacher don't know how mean she looks

Q: What can you tell me about secondary school/ sixth form?
Next August I´m going to UK in an exchange program, and I was just wondering, if I'm 16 will I get into sixth form or secondary school. And what can you tell me about them?

A: for secondary school you stay for 5 years as a total, but for you, u will be in sixth form, it is like the continuation of high school but your not bombarded with inflicted lessons upon yourself, you do things called a level which later are exams. you are more laid back in sixth form.

Q: What do I need to take at University to be an English or Media Teacher at Secondary School?
I want to be an English or a Media teacher at Secondary school but I don't know what I need to do at University to do that. Can anyone help?

A: So long as you have an A level in English and/or Media Studies, you can do what you want at university. Sure, an English degree is the obvious decision, but you don't have to; I have a friend who is a Religious Studies teacher, and he didn't do that at uni, he did politics. Once you've got a degree in whichever subject you choose, you either need to do a PGCE course, which normally lasts one year and gives you Qualified Teacher Status, or you can join the Graduate Teacher Programme, where you start teaching straight away and get training as you work. Hope this helps :)

Q: Should girls and boys be taught differently in secondary school?
I've read numerous books on gender differences in brain development and cognitive representations. The general conclusion is that: - girls develop the linguistic, communication and creative parts of their brain earlier than boys. - boys develop the mathematical, logical and practical parts of their brain earlier than girls. Currently girls do, on average, better at secondary school than boys. Partly because they are better at encoding & remembering verbal instructions. Do you think it would be a good idea for boys to be taught in a more practical hands on way? Do you think there would be any draw backs of teaching boys and girls in a different way? Personally I think teaching in the same way tries to force the genders to go against their natural biology. We should be celebrating our differences and all the positives that go along with it and not pretending that they don't exist! Any fresh ideas?

A: No, i can't go to a school everyday where there arn't boys!
