Q: which schools are better 'franklin high school' or garfield high school'(seattle)?
hey I'm 17 this sept 16 and i'm moving to seattle at the end of this year from uk because my dad lives there.i have to go school but i ain't that sure of which one so i've narrowed it down to garfield and franklin high which one is better? any help is real appreciated

A: GARFIELD. It is the #1 public school in the Seattle School District. It has offers many, MANY AP courses. Garfield has great academics. Orchestra is amazing!! Many student activities/clubs Garfield is sooooo diverse, everyone is so different so you'll have no trouble fitting in! PLUS, Garfield just finished a two-year remodel, brang new re-modelled building, and a new performance/activities center, AND a new field! Just a random fact: Quincy Jones & Jimi Hendrix graduated from Garfield =D Franklin's academics is definitely lower than Garfield's Student body is somewhat not diverse, possibly because of its location

Q: Seattle High Schools?
I know this is a really really broad question but was just wondering what the high schools are like in Seattle. Good faciilities? Heaps of Stereotypes? Clubs? etc. Im going on exchange to one from Australia for a few weeks and havent got any contacts yet just wanted some opinions. Thanks heaps.

A: The best Public High School in the Seattle area is on Mercer Island. The Public High Schools within the City Limits of Seattle have a poor reputation. There is practically no discipline and a lot of hazing and teasing. There are some Private Schools which are good.

Q: High Schools in Seattle, WA area that have Art Programs
I'm getting my degree to be a high school art teacher and wanted to know if anyone knew of any high schools in Seattle, WA (or surrounding areas) that had art programs. I'm worried that many schools are getting rid of their art programs so I'm thinking of minoring in English or something just in case. Any help would be great! Thanks!

A: no clue

Q: How are the public schools in West Seattle?

A: There are some that are excellent and some that are not especially the ones in the High Point neighborhood. Seattle is interesting because you really don't know if your local school will close down. They have had some issues for a while in terms of budget and declining enrollment. I recall that one school in West Seattle has been slated for closure but who knows if the school board will follow through. Overall though, it is a cute neighborhood and great community. I have visited a few of the schools and one of my favorite was Sanislo- very unique and good teaching is happening here.

Q: Esthetician Schools in Seattle?
I am trying to choose a school to receive my esthetician lincense. Has any had any experience with any skin schools in the Seattle area? I would appriciate any feedback

Q: Why do citizens in Seattle, Washington, allow codified racism in their schools?
Note this page on the Seattle public schools web site: http://www.seattleschools.org/area/equityandrace/index.dxml In particular note #5 and #6 in their mission statement. By the very words of that mission statement the program is available only to "students of color." That folks is racism in its most blatant form. But then Seattle is one of the most liberal areas in the nation. Maybe we were foolish to expect better from liberals, or liberal educators. So much for the liberal concept of equality, eh? Jenny, come on, wake up, it is racist because it excludes people not "of color." It excludes, not includes. It keeps some people out, not brings everyone in. As for Oprah her speaking about "people of color" is racist only if she proposes helping and doing something for a group of people. The key on this racist thing is whether or not the definition being used is about "a group, as a specific race", or about everyone as "individuals."

A: Wow. You certainly are ignorant. "People of color" is a phrase that's been floating around the past several years. It's not the same thing as saying "colored." It's in no way racist! For God's sake, Oprah uses the term. Is Oprah a racist? No.

Q: What are some good ground schools in the Seattle Area for a Private Pilot Certificate, and under $1000?

A: You may be able to find a Private Pilot ground school offered at a community college, but as someone else pointed out, most are taught with the intention that you are going to take flight training as well. If you can't afford flight lessons and want to concentrate simply on ground school and passing your written test, pick up a typical student pilot/private pilot test prep book. You can find them anywhere...sportys.com, amazon, or your local airport flight school. Good flight schools in Seattle... Galvin Aviation on Boeing Field...but very expensive. The farther away from the center of the city you go, generally the rates will be cheaper. I'd also try Snohomish Flying Service at Paine Field, Everett.
