Q: What kinds of school supplies should I buy ahead of time without knowing the grade level I'm going to teach?
I just earned my teaching credential, and I'll probably be hired for a random position at the end of August, a week before school starts. I want to take advantage of all the back to school sales happening this summer, and save on some of the last minute stress. What generic supplies could I buy ahead of time before I know what grade I will teach. I applied for K-5 positions. I already bought pencils, erasers, folders, and rulers. Any other ideas?

A: file folders, file folder labels [although your school might provide these, I am a sucker for ones that are pretty and different colored!!] magnetic clips Expo markers (if your school will have dry erase markers) Chalk (if your school has chalkboards) Red pens (or whatever you will grade with) I personally liked using pink, purple, green, etc. notebooks/steno pads. i used those for everything from lists to record keeping. I also bought cheap ones for students who didn't bring supplies 3 ring binders -- I used these for organizing my resources by subject, student records, and other information) colored pencils -- I liked having my students use these for ceratin things and wasn't always included on my supply list. They are cheap this week at Target markers, post it notes, Sharpies, pencil boxes, paper clips, etc. These are other items that I used all the time and just bought at this time because they are always cheaper.

b/c last year was EXTREMELY horrible. we couldnt find some supplies and the clothes.[uniforms] and catch this, we started shopping on the day before school started!it was a nightmare. so when is it better to start shopping for school stuff. and do you know when walmart starts putting out supply lists? i start school on august 25! super excited;]

A: I'd say an appropriate time to start shopping is a month before, I've tried earlier but all the good supplies come out in the month before. I'm excited for school too, I start september 2, but im starting highschool!! haha... good luck!!

A: An organizer with a calendar to keep track of assignments. A 3 ring binder. Dividers. Folders for loose papers. Lined paper, pencils, pens, eraser. Markers (you might not need these, but I love art supplies). White out. A cute new backpack to match your new clothes. A portable three-hole punch.

Q: What school supplies does a high school student need?
I'm donating a backpack filled with school supplies and wasn't sure what high school students need these days.

A: I am a very meticulous person and I use: One binder per subject, pens (red and blue), pencils, pencil crayons (believe it or not they come in handy and are used a lot in grades 9 and 10), ruler, scientific calculator, protractor, LOTS OF PAPER, dividers, and an agenda.

A: I would advertise in your local paper, then visit each and every business in your community. Be sure to acknowledge them with a thank you or a piece in the school or local paper. It is free advertising for them, and they are contributing to the place where the school children's parents and relatives, shop, and do business. It is contributing to their future sales and promotes good will...good luck to you all...thank you.

Where can I see what school supplies I need for 7th grade . At hawthorn middle school south.

A: You should try calling the school and ask someone in the office if there is a special list of supplies for the 7th grade. They should have given it to you at the end of the school year or should be mailing it to you. If not, go to Staples. They usually have a general supply list for each grade.

Q: What is the coolest kind of school supplies?
In like markers, dry erase markers, book covers, crayons, colored pencils, Handsoap, Cases, ETC. I really want some cool school supplies but school supplies that works well......Please help if you can, thanks

A: Bendy rulers, scented highliters. You can get them from Crayola I think.

A: Target,Walmart,Staples,Office Max. Anywhere that sells school supplies has cute ones too. You just have too look harder.

A: Let me tell you, the feeling never gets old. I am a senior in college, and I absolutely love buying my school supplies. I will even try to coordinate my school supplies and make sure they look cool! I think alot of the excitement surrounding the rat race to buy school supplies has to do with the kids being bored during the summer, and going into a fresh school year with endless possibilities. School supplies, like purchasing school clothes (if your school doesn't have a uniform policy) can be a child's way of expressing their individualism. Let me tell you, I love buying school supplies more than I like actually going to school.

I am starting high school next year and I havent received any information about the dress code or school supplies. I know it is not the same for all schools but generally what do you need and how should you dress? I´ve had uniforms all of my past years and this is my first year without them. Please answer if you are in high school or were reecently in it.

A: well if you have block scheduling you really dont need anything because you only have 4 classes but the first week is just filling out info and they tell you about the class and stupid stuff, I wouldn't worry about it

Q: Where can I donate gently used school supplies?
I have a bunch of notebooks and other school supplies that I used very briefly. I took out notebook pages I used, so they are totally blank. I'd really like to donate them to kids in need. Is there a place to donate things that have been gently used supplies?

A: Two good places are simply calling your local schools and asking for either the school counselor or the homeless student's liaison or going through Freecycle. To find Freecycle go to main Yahoo page and click groups then enter Freecycle to find one for your area. If it were me I'd call the school first bec they would probably go to someone in greater need that way. Thank you for wanting to share.

A: Kool i was in seventh grade last year! Some thing that are in (at least in the us) is skinny jeans. A big fashion dont is wearing sneakers with skinny jeans it will make you lok like you have clown feet! with skinny jeans you wear heels (your to young to wear heel to school u will die) with skinny jeans wear cute ballet flats a nice shirt and simple acceories (not too flashy) Another thing that is in is high waisted jeans. Obviously dont wear these with a shirt that will cover it in other words you need to tuck in you shirt. Shirts with Logos work for anything. School supplies 1 subject notebooks for every subject at least 1 binder Paper pens bookbag gym clothes school Tips Keep extra money (for lunch) and extra gym clothes in your locker Breathe mint, and lotion in your locker. Be yourself dont get caught up too much in a boy dont get caught up in peer pressure dont get caught up in drama have fun you are still young dont worry about datng or any of that stuff GOOD LUCk
