Q: Can one get financial aid for online schools (specifically for medical transcription certification)? How?
I am trying to find out for a friend if there is any federal or state (Michigan) financial aid or grants available for online schools (specifically for medical transcription courses). Any experience or suggestions in this regard would be appreciated.

A: Unless it says it on the website, the answer is probably no unless associated with a college or university. However, most community colleges have the program and do participate in the FAFSA program which would be mentioned in the financial aid section. Also, a good place to check is... http://www.TopFinancialAid.info/ Best of luck to you.

Q: Are there full time online schools in Florida?
I hate high school and I've weighed the options and decided I'd like to try online school. Are there any full time online high schools so that I don't have to go to a physical high school? This isn't just a fling, I've been considering this for a couple of years. If this information is needed, I live in Florida.

A: Your best option would be to go to Florida Virtual School. It is free for high school aged students who are residents of Florida. There are other requirements, but you should be able to transfer in. Here is the link. http://www.flvs.net/ Good luck,

Q: Are there any online schools or what ever is out there. That i can do the course but there is no exam?
I"m taking my high school credits from home and just wondering if there where any online schools or something out there that i can take the course but no exam or something like that?

A: Actually, yes, there is. At http://OnlineMastersDegrees.info, since you mention having the necessary credits, and thus the requirements, you can choose the specific diploma that better suits your needs. No need to take any exam or test. It's affordable, legal and fast, too.

Q: What are some good online high schools?
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good online high schools... I'm half way through my junior year and I'm running into alot of problems at school and I'm just wondering if I should just finish High School online... I really have two questions, is this a good idea and what are some good online schools?

A: Florida Virtual School

Q: Does anyone know of any online schools that accept students without a high school diploma?
Does anyone know of any online schools that accept students without a high school diploma?

A: Online high schools do... Try Kaplin University because they also offer a high school program. Maybe if a person were missing a few high school credits they could take them online, and then move into the University classes.

Q: Any online Vet technician or Assistant schools?
I am looking for online schools that offer Vet Technician or Vet Assistant schools. Anyone know of any? I know Penn Foster offers both, but the Technician one requires online discussions at certain times and a internship. I also know that Ashworth College offers the Vet Assistant one but I have never gone through them. Any thoughts on either program or other programs like it online. Must be completely online.

A: Ok, veterinary assistant schools are complete BS!!! Sorry, but I get so annoyed with them. It is a SCAM. You do NOT need a degree/certificate/etc to be an assistant. You earn that job title by hands-on experience. Veterinary technicians on the other hand require a 2 year Associates degree, and this must be obtained through a school that is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. http://www.avma.org/education/cvea/vettech_programs/allprograms.asp There are no schools that are solely online. Some tech schools have certain courses that are offered online, but many are lab-based and require you to be on site in a classroom. Most schools will also require you to complete several internships. My school had us intern for 20 weeks and we had to intern 30 hrs/week. You can't adequately learn everything there is to being a vet tech by only looking at a computer screen.

Q: What are some good online Photography Schools?
I am a little skeptical in dealing with online schooling, so I am looking for feedback on what schools out there are worth the time.

A: This is free so give it a shot: http://www.image-nut.com

Q: I am considering a career in the ever-growing IT field. Are online schools equivalent?
There are many programs and degrees offered. I would seek a bachelors of IT, but are online schools as good as campus-based ones? Any insight would be helpful.

A: I would get both. Get the degree from an attending school. Then As you progress get your other degrees./ Once you ahve experience, that will promote you. Then you list your addtional degrees, and that raises your worth. GOOD LUCK ...............................................

Q: What does everyone think of online schools and degrees. What are some good online colleges?
I am looking into getting a criminal justice degree and have thought about signing up with Kaplan, an online school.

A: I am going for a graphic design degree at Mt. Sierra and love it. I have a BA already from an on campus school and I have had a better experience with the online classes. About.com has some great information on distance learning and I would highly recommend doing research first and asking a lot of questions. About.com has a great suggestion list of questions to ask an admissions representative. It helped me immensely and I am 100% convinced I made the right decision. Good luck :-)

Q: what are good online schools to get a degree in nursing?
i want to go back to school but i will only have time if i do online courses so im trying to find the right school for me to go to because i really want to better myself for me and my kid. so if anyone knows of one... HELP!

A: I am also a pre-nursing student and have done plenty of research on this subject. Rio Salado College offers an associate degree nursing program partially online. They are located in Phoenix, Arizona and are accredited by the state of Arizona and the NLNAC (which is good). You complete your didactic courses online and on the weekends you complete your clinicals. They keep a waiting list, so it may be a few semesters before you are admitted after completing your pre-requisites. This school also offers Anatomy & Physiology I & II, General Chemistry and Microbiology online with the labs included. So you can take them online and transfer them where ever you choose to go to nursing school. Another option is Del Mar College which is located in Texas (unsure of exactly where-you'll have to look up) and they also offer an associate degree program in nursing. You also complete your didactic courses online (on your own schedule-you can work at your own pace) once you have completed your didactic courses for the semester you then complete your clinicals. It is also accredited by the state of texas and the NLNAC. I hope this information helps you.

Q: Are there any legitimate online schools that you can get a BA in education and be licensed to teach?
I am currently enrolled in University of Phoenix Axia. I can only get an AS degree with them. It would benefit me greatly if I could do the majority of it online. I understand that I will need to work with my local school district to get my student teaching in. I live in Ohio.

A: You have several options: Old Dominion University (www.odu.edu) Saint Leo University (www.saintleo.edu) Regent University (www.regent.edu) Capella University (www.capella.edu) All of these schools are reputable and have excellent Online Study programs.

Q: I would like to find classes to take about floral sign. There are no schools near my town. How about online?
Any good online schools for floral design I'm not looking for a degree just a diploma in floral design.

A: Study online is a good choice. Compare to a normal school around your home, longtern education is a good option. Good luck!

Q: What are some of the best and affordable online schools?
I want to go to online school for my junior and senior years of high school. I've been to a lot of sites and tuition costs are over $400 for just TWO credits. My mom and I can't afford something that expensive. HELP!!

A: If your state has a virtual public charter option for high school, then they could be a way to do school at home for "free" (there will be school fees). K12 and Calvert both supply curricula to online virtual public schools. You can look on each site to see if they have schools in your state: http://www.k12.com http://www.connectionsacademy.com

Q: What do you think about online schools?
I am a freshman, and I am thinking about an online high school, because I used to be homeschooled and I am not doing very well in a public school. I know that I can do better online than at a public school, but, I am concerned about how long it takes (will I be at home on the computer all day?) and also being isolated from other people and always staying at home. What do you think?

A: You have to be very disciplined. Lots of hard work. You have to be motivated.
