Q: What are schools in North Carolina that offer majors in Photography?
I know the Art Institute of Charlotte, School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, and CVCC in Hickory all do, but what other schools? I've visited the Art Institute, School of Communication Arts, and CVCC and like all of them, but the closest one to me in CVCC. (I don't want to live on campus of a school.) Any other schools in North Carolina with program in Photography?

A: any school with an art department usually does. we have a GREAT one here at Appalachian in Boone. and thats not that far away from you if you are close to hickory. you will have to live on campus if you are a freshman, but only for the first semester. you can apply to move out after that. and you are basically kicked out after the second semester. ECU has a repuation for art, so you could check on their website. but i bet they have it too.

Q: Do all North American schools teach evolution?
Not only do I want the answer, but could someone tell me where I can find a strong source to use as an indication. I can't find it anywhere, and I need to be able to back it up in an essay I'm doing. Thanks.

A: I dont know proof, but there are several private schools across U.S. that are religious. If they are religious, some might teach creationism; hence rejecting evolution. Search on google for private schools that teach creationism or dont teach evolution. Hope that helped.

Q: Are there any good international tae kwon do schools in the North Natomas area?
im getting ready to move to north natomas and i have to switch tae kwon do schools so i want to find a good school that i can go to, to continue in ranks.

A: Every person is different. So, I recommend visiting the schools in that area when you arrive. What might be a great school in someone else's opinion might be a dump for you. Also, try a class and sit in and watch a second class so you can make an informed decision.

Q: My daughter has schizo-affective dissorder. She is 15 are there any schools in north carolina that can help?
we have tried public school but she is to smart to be in a smaller class with kids who are lower funtioning than her, but not well enough to be in a normal classroom. She can't be with 2000 kids anxiety is to much for her. So we are looking for a program anywhere that can help her.

A: I don't live back east, so have no clue what is available there. If you are inclined to do some research regarding your daughter's illness, look into orthomolecular psychiatry. Dr. Abrahm Hoffer is the father of orthomolecual psychiatry, and while he is quite old and retired now, his work continues. He has several books out...I found most of them at Amazon.com. He claims a high rate of recovery for patients with schizophrenia, using nutritional interventions. Very unlike our American approach of using pharmaceuticals that have a very mixed success rate coupled with some very difficult side effects. I haven't researched him on schizo-effective disorder, but you can give it a try.

Q: What kind of elementry schools are there in North Carolina?
Is north carolina a nice state to live in? what about safety there etc? I know they get a lot of tornado scares etc

A: I have been living in N.C. for 7 years the most we get is maybe a hurricane, some few scares of tornado, but nothing like Florida, Kansas, etc. Great place to live, school are great, when we got here my kids were small, love the idea of visiting them for lunch and eating with them. Stay away from large city like Charlotte and Greensboro, look for a small town. We live in Thomasville

Q: Has anyone else heard that all North Carolina high schools will go to uniforms in 2008?
Please tell me the website if that is where you got the info from.

A: Our surrounding counties have gone to uniforms. Our particular county has not. The students at the school where I work get as close to the limit for the dress code as possible instead of trying to adhere to the dress code. The teachers also push the limits on skirt length and necklines. As far as I know, the dress code and uniform decisions are made by individual counties. I will not be surprised if our county will go to uniforms next year. I cannot blame the administration for making the decision. Our students choose not to follow rules. They will someday learn that more freedom is received by following the rules, not by breaking the rules.
