Q: How should I start off making new friends in middle school?
How can I start off making new friends in middle school?
A: I was worried too, but it actually comes pretty easy!
Smile at everyone, and be an all-around friendly person!
Talk to as many people as you can, it's great to have lots of friends. Don't be shy when other people start a conversation with you, stay calm. Eventually, you'll have a great group oof BFF's and the rest will be friends! GOOD LUCK!
Q: How many new outfits does a child need to start the new school year?
My daughter is 4 and just started a pre kindergarden program. How many new outfits should she get for school? I think I got her like 7 or 8. Is that a good amount? How many weeks should she have new clothes for?
A: I am the worse for this but I got my daughter like 15 yes I over do it. But I mean hey she needs to look cute.
Q: How do I get my 5 yr old ready for a new school in a new city?
We are moving soon back to our hometown. My 5 yr old started pre-k this year and he adjusted well. I'm worried about how he'll react to a whole new school. How do I get him prepared for this. Anyone have any good tips?
A: I recommend contacting the pre-k that you plan on registering him in and ask about some boys that will live in your area. When you get there, these boys could help your son meet new kids, and their parents could do the same for you. I suggest that you start 1-2 days before he will go to class, so he already knows some people. Also, you could contact people that you grew up with and ask them if they know any kids that will be in your son's pre-k. The goal would be to have him meet kids before his class starts, so he knows people and can adjust more easily.
When is his birthday? I think you should throw a party and invite all of his classmates if his birthday is in the next month or so. That way, they get to know him, he gets to know them, and you get to know the parents.
Good luck on a smooth and safe move!!
Q: What are some resources I can use to determine the quality of a new town's school system?
I'm considering moving to a new town I know nothing about. The quality of the school system is important to me. What are some resources I can use to determine how the schools measure up?
A: state testings are available from the websites by t he town they will give you an indication of how good a schools on testing. I would also read the forums on the town - there must be some. you can chime an ask questions from afar as you as this one here.

I am a college sophomore and will be transferring to another school next fall. For all of you transfer students, how hard was it for you to fit in at your new school? What were some of the obstacles you had to overcome? Did you make friends right away or not? Do you still keep in touch with your old friends at your old school? In-depth answers are welcome.
A: first week, throw a party. best way to make your mark. if you not party type, join all organizations you have time for. anything that sparks your interest. if your friends from old school are dear to you, you should put forth effort for the next couple years to kit. k?

Q: How hard is it to get into the undergraduate finance program at Rutgers Business School New Brunswick?
I'm a freshman right now at Rutgers University New Brunswick and I was wondering how hard it is to get into the finance program for the business school. Thanks alot.
A: Hey, the requirements as of this year is as follows:
33:010:272 Introduction to Financial Accounting
01:198:170 Computer Applications to Business
01:220:102 Introduction to Microeconomics
01:220:103 Introduction to Macroeconomics
01:640:135 Calculus I
01:960:285 Introductory Statistics for Business
You are also required to have at LEAST 54 credits and a GPA of a minimum of 3.3. The higher your GPA the better the chances. Also, the minimum GPA fluctuates every year depending on the strength of other applicants.
Make SURE you finish all the required classes above before the end of sophomore year, and dont forget to apply to the business school the middle of sophomore year. Good luck, study hard, and pass all the above classes with at least a C and you'll be ok. Also dont forget to get above the minimum GPA, which is posted every year.
Finally, you have to complete a liberal arts minor before you go to the business school. You wont have time to finish it once youre in.
Q: How can my friend help her two pre-teen daughters accept their new middle school?
My female friend separated from her husband about 6 months ago & are divorcing. They moved to the west side of town & she put her 2 pre-teen daughters in the new middle school. It is a better school with greater academic & sports programs. They were both popular in their old school & they want to go back to it. Her decision is for them to stay in the new school. They have had a number of arguements over this. How can she help them accept this decision & bring peace back to her home?
A: There shouldn't be an argument. She's the parent and they're going to have to accept her decision. There's a lot of things in life we're not going to agree with but we do what we have to.
Q: When does America, and more specifically Alaska start a new school year?
In NewZealand (where I live) we start a new school year at the end of January, after our summer holidays over the christmas period. Do schools in America and Alaska do the same? One of my friends said they don't and one said they do. Thanks =]
A: I live in Alaska and have school age kids.
Alaska starts the school year early - around August 15th, and ends the school year early - usually May 18th. This allows the children to accompany the adults to fish camp....... coincides with the first run of salmon that is the red salmon.
Alaskan schools will about never have a snow day. Any emergency days are usually made up during the Spring vacation so the kids can get out of school exactly on May 18th.
The rest of America will begin school after Labor Day - Sept 4th and will end around June 20th.
Hope this helps
