middle school questions and answers
Q: What are the requirements for a middle school librarian?
I am looking into pursuing a career as a school librarian, preferably a middle school/jr high school librarian. What majors should I look into, and what requirements are there to become a librarian? In short, what should I look for when applying to colleges?
A: In order to be a professional librarian, you will have to earn an MLS or MLIS (master's in library science or master's in library and information science.) You might want to pursue education as a major/double major becuase some states require that a school librarian also have a teaching certificate or the equivalent. I don't think there are necessarily any requirements for what your undergraduate degree has to be in so pick a subject you are passionate about.
You might want to check out the information on the websites of the American Library Association or the National Association of School Librarians for more information.

Q: How do you organize a Middle school talent show ?
Please give me tips, advice and all the how to's. Whatever I can get. I'm a middle school student organizing a middle school Talent show, i'm very well known around the school but I don't know if it'll be easy for me.
A: Start by decided what the rules will be (you may want to work with a teacher on this part) - you will need rules - and type them up. Everyone in the talent show will need a copy of the rules. The rules need to state what kind of performances are allowed, how long those performances can be, what things aren't allowed (such an inappropriately sensual performances or songs containing lots of profanity), and how to sign up. If it is a competition, then the rules also need to state how the performers will be judged, who will judge them, and what the winners receive. Then make up an entry form which includes for contestants to write their name, address, phone number (so they can be contacted if more info is needed or problems arise), You may want to include parent's name - and the school may require a parent's signature. Then it should ask for the name of the group and/or list of every performer in the group, the title of the work being performed, name of the composer/writer, aproximately how long the work is, and what equipment is being used (music stand, piano, etc...). Set a deadline for these entry forms to be turned in and work with the school staff to see that every student (who is eligible to perform) gets a copy of the rules and the entry form. Oh, also don't forget to put on the form the date and time of the show. Then, when the deadline is past, get all the forms together and use them to make a show roster (a list of who's going to perform and in what order). Also check each form to make sure that they follow the guidelines listed in the rules. If an entry is against the rules, contact the person and explain the situation and give them a chance to change to meet the rules). Be sure to work with the school staff. Teachers can be a great help to you - it's a lot to do by yourself.
Q: How old to be assistant for middle school team?
I didn't make my high school team this year, and if I don't next year I would like to coach. How old do I have to be to coach as a assistant for a middle school team ?
yeah the coach would know me.
when i was in middle school, our assistant was like 24 so i had no idea how old you have to be.
A: I don't think age really matters if you want to coach middle school because you are volunteering and not getting paid to coach. If you were getting paid, maybe 18 or 21. I think it's great that you want to coach. It shows that you really love basketball
Q: How important is math for a middle school student that persists in a career in programming or graphic desi?
How important is math for a middle school student that persists in a career in programming or graphic design? I have The most hate for math at school, i can almost guarantee that i will never use the crap they are teaching in my classes. I Am looking to code stuff in either C++ or VBS something like that and i am wondering if i would need alot of math experience. I have Already looked into VBS a bit. Thanks
A: It's not the specific math equations that you will use throughout your programming career. It's the thought process and logic that you develop from advanced math classes that will make it possible for you to program. If you can't do basic algebra in junior high, you won't succeed as a programmer.
Q: How many days of middle school can you miss without getting in trouble?
I am a sickly young sixth grader who goes to a minnesota middle school. I have missed 8 days which are all excused absences. 3 of those days were for othro appointments, so technically i missed 5 and 3 periods. the reason for this question is for the amount of school i can miss without them coming to my house the next time i am sick. Would it be ten? 15? 20 days of school?
A: Cockatiel, Only the students really know for sure. http://www.middleschoolreviews.com/Minnesota-Middle-Schools.html
Q: How do I start a middle school talent show?
I wanted a cute little fundraiser idea for the middle school program. I want to know all of the steps and how many months needed to prepare. I also want to know the cost and how many volunteers needed. Any other information too! Please & Thank you! ^.^
A: You should probably ask the principle or head of the middle school for permission.
You would probably need a few months or maybe a few weeks. No more than 3 months if it's just for fundraising.
Take as many volunteers as you can get. This would include setting up the stage and if you have to rent a place out or if your school has an auditorium, ask headmaster or principle if you could use.
Price should be summed up by the signs and if you will have a recession.
Ill favorite this and look back in a few if this helps or if you can go into a little more detail.
Good luck!
Q: What certification test does someone take to become a middle school math teacher?
What certification test does someone take to become a middle school math teacher in Missouri?
I know there is a C-BASE test that you have to take to be a high school math teacher but I didn't' know if you had to take the same test or a different one like elementary school does.
Do you know?
A: http://www.moreap.net/teaching_jobs/classroom_teacher_mathematics.php

Q: How can I make friends in middle school?
Well its been 7 weeks at my middle school and I'm really shy. I have friends IN class but between classes I'm all lonely. So what are some tips to help me get friends or in a group?
I'm 12 and I am more conferable around girls. I'm also gay.
A: WELLL
middle school if you haven't figured out can be
the make or break point for many young adults.
this is when most of the friend making and bonding occurs which lasts into high school.
not some tips.....
So you have friends "in class" but when classes change there's no one to talk to correct?
fidn a few people in a couple of your classes that possible go the same direction and you share a commom interests with.
the biggest problem for you is being REALLY SHY.
you gotta break right out of that and meet new people.
obviously you can't be too shy if you post this question in a possibility of gettin a crappy answer to get embarassed over.
that's all being shy is.. the fear of gettin embarassed.
you kindof have to just learn to get over it. talk to new people, make new friends, have "hang out" seesions after school.
oh that's a good way to know people. if some of your class mates live near you. possibly try to get with them after schoola nd introduce you to their friends.
you just gotta get with a certain person to get into a group.
and when your walkin through the halls....
here's a couple do's & don't
DON"T
* walk with your head down (lack of confidence)
* run or walk fast to class (makes a person look like a loser)
* carry a lot of books at once. make recent stops to locker and carry as few items as possible. avoid stuffin backpack. it looks funny. and when you get to hgh school nobody carries a backpack.
DO
* show confidence. approach new people & girls
* take time going to class ( stop at locker, go to water fountain) theres' no rush.
* greet all your "buds" in the hallway at they walk by. but dont' do it to everyoe cause then people will notice and it's weird. just close friends
* also dress is important to be quite honest. idk how old you are exactly... but like don't come to school with black finger nail polish stuff liek that. it looks weird. ya know dress normal with jeans & shirt.
hope i helped =)
Q: What are really good songs for a middle/high school band to play?
I am in band at Pattengill Middle School, but in Music in the Parks last year, we beat a lot of high schools, we are really good. What are some cool songs we could play?
I don't really want like movies
We are a concert band, flute, clarinet, trombone, tuba, euphonium, trumpet/cornet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, french horn, and percussion
A: If you're really good, you could play Pearl Harbor. We played it last year, and it's such an emotional piece.
We also played a piece, I forgot the name of it, but it was a composition of a lot of famous Jazz songs, such as Puttin' On the Ritz.
Q: What do middle school girls look for in a guy?
No offense anyone but this is a question for middle school girls. Hi, i'm a 8th grader at my middle school and I would like some tips on what girls look for in a guy. Im kind of shy and I have a crush on this other girl in my social studies class. And well if you could can you please tell me some tips on how to get her to like me. Thanks.
A: well. since i am in middle school i will try to tell you but don't hurt me if its not true. i like guys who are nice and that aren't concerned with looks.Guy that talk a lot to me and put on the act that we are just friends even though they like me. Guys that will be there even when you start to cry, and guys that won't blow you off for any reason. I don't really know what to tell you. Most girls like that aspect in guys though. Just a caring person that doesn't mind listening to a few hours of emotional stuff. Try to think like a girl but don't act like one. Bring her roses or something or another. I really don't know. Maybe even ask her out on a date ,more like to the movies so that you guys can get better acquainted. If you really want to guarantee friendship you should just work your way into her group and act like your her friend. See where it can go from there ,but don't be too pushy. As i said i am not really positive ,but thats what i want in a guy. I like guys who talk a lot too and are a bit clingish ,but most girls probably won't like it so you shouldn't cling onto her or call her everyday. hope this helps.
