Q: Any Private Art High Schools in Massachusetts?
Doesn't need to be private either, but please post if you know of any!!

A: Sorry, I don't know. I hope you find out!

Q: What do you think of the Massachusetts school that banned tag and touch football?

A: I just read about that. I think banning Tag is absolutely ridiculous! Schools today are becoming so afraid of every little liability that they are taking away children's rights to express themselves. Ever see Dead Poet's Society? It's a movie all about conformity - an ideal they seem to be pushing on kids more and more these days. Pretty soon, they'll ban recess, and probably gym will be for upper grades to practice for sports (track, cross country, basketball, volleyball & soccer)

Q: Private Schools in Boston or any Massachusetts city?
I need private schools for a 8th Grader, 4th Grader and an 11th Grader. If you can't find one for 11th, then 8th & 4th is good enough. If you can't find 4th, please try 5th. And if you can't find 8th try 7th. Thank you very much. How much do they charge? I need whatever there is, really. But it's okay if it's boys & girls (which would be better).

A: There are lots of private schools around Massachusetts- most with a religious affiliation. For example, Saint Agnes School in Arlington, MA is for K-8, and then near by there is Arlington Catholic High School. There are lots of private high schools, such as Xaverian Brothers High School, which I think is in Westwood, and Pope John High School in Everett. Austin Prep I think is a private school for grades K-8 also. Find an exact city you may be close to, and it would be better to narrow down.

Q: Transferring from a school in a foreign country to a school in Massachusetts?
I recently finished the 9th grade, and I want to transfer to a school in Massachusetts. The problem is, I'm living in the southern hemisphere and the school year is from March to December. If I were still living in America I would be in the 10th grade right now, instead of starting 10th soon. Would I be able to transfer without any problem (and start going to school in the middle of the 10th grade)?

A: Your parents will find that information for you from the school(s) they have selected and applied for your attendance. If you can do it you will need to get ahead of your school in S. America, because you're jumping ahead in Massachusetts(MA). Interesting thing about MA: their universities (MIT & Harvard) were the first to adopt a voting system, instant runoff voting, that produces a winner by majority in one election, but they have not figured out to propose it for high school class elections. Since you are in high school, know this: you have more power now to change our presidential elections than your teachers and your parents because you are registered in school to vote in class elections. Your parents and teachers can only vote in local, state and federal elections. They have to contribute to the campaigns for legislators before they can get changes enacted. You can adopt a better voting system and we will get it for our elections. When you have a moment this weekend, check out instant runoff voting (IRV). It is the only system that can guarantee a majority to award Electoral College votes from a state.

Q: What schools in Massachusetts should I look into and would have a chance of getting accepted?
After first semester I had a high school GPA of 3.05 [out of 4.0] and second semester I received straight A's and a recommendation to be in an English Honors class by my English teacher and I have the grades to get into AP History next year [I just finished my Junior year]. I was a cheerleader for 2 and a half years and been in a variety of clubs over my three years such as: Gay-Straight Alliance School Newspaper, Student Life Editor and promised Editor-in-Chief next year School Yearbook, Editor for two years Drama Club [for one semester] And I've befriended almost all of the teachers that I've had during my high school career who would gladly write a recommendation for me. So, with a higher GPA and more participation on my part during senior year [in clubs], what schools in Massachusetts should I look at? Thanks so much! I also have had a seasonal job and now a more permanent job that I am very committed to.

A: Your grades are not good enough for Harvard, Amherst or Williams, and other elite schools like BC, BU, Wellesley or Tufts are also probably too high a reach, but that leaves about 100 schools that you could probably get into. YOu need to decide country or city, big or small, private or public.... Check out one of the big fat all-college reference books at your school guidance office or local library. Make a list of some of the schools that look interestesting to you. They all have websites. And since Massachusetts is small you will be able to do a trip and visit 8 or 10 of them in a weekend.

Q: When Massachusetts closed all of its training schools, it was practicing a philosophy known as?
A. intake. B. adjudication. C. waiver. D. deinstitutionalization.

A: D. And it don't work.... they did it in the 1970's with all the mental institutions... and all it did was put a ton of homeless on the street. More liberal silliness.... the reason? They said if you keep like people together it makes them worse. So, put them in society and they will magically be cured. Rubbish!

Q: I live in Massachusetts but attend school in Connecticut, how can I obtain a workers permit for Massachusetts?
Hi I'm Gina and live in Massachusetts, but I go to school in Connecticut. I'm 15 and I want a workers permit for Massachusetts. I am not sure how to do this, since I attend school in Connecticut. I can't go to the main office of our school for this permit because the result would be a Conecticut permit. What should I do?

A: Are you really that misinformed ? You don't need a workers permit to work there
