Q: What is Lincoln High School in Jersey City like?
I am thinking of buying a condo across the street from Lincoln High School in Jersey City. However, I read online there was a lot of violence and gang-related issues in the past. Does anyone know if this is still true or is the area improving? Also is there a plan to improve the area? Thanks for your help.

A: DO NOT LIVE IN THAT AREA. ITS IS ALL A GHETTO WITH CRIME, DRUG DEALING, AND DEFINETLY VIOLENCE. IT IS ALSO POORLY DEVELOPED!!! Look towards Newport area in Jersey City, or the downtown and the heights. The area by Lincoln High School---even the school itself is a no-no unless you want to get shot or robbed!

Q: Who goes to Lincoln Public School Adams Elementary in 5th grade?

A: Not me.

Q: In Lincoln-Douglas high school debate, when do you advance from novice to advanced?
I am in Lincoln-Douglas debate this year and I did Policy Debate last year and someone told me that since I debated last year I have to do ALD this year. Please tell me if this is true or not and if you have any sources to prove this right or wrong I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

A: I started debating this year and I'm a freshman in high school. I moved up to varsity debate on the local circuit after going to the Golden Desert Invitational in Henderson Nevada in early January. Beforehand I had about 5 tournaments worth of experience. The catch being I'm on the Utah circuit. It differs from circuit to circuit when you SHOULD advance, and when you will. But I believe because you've debated for a year you have to go varsity, or if the local tournaments near you have a junior-varsity division as well you could actually compete there instead. Because of the fact that you've debated in Policy, all you need to learn is how to write an LD case. You're better at research than most LDers, you'll have no trouble flowing an LD round, and you'll probably do better in varsity because you won't have judges frowning on you for spewing. The sooner you compete in varsity, the better. You don't learn in the novice and JV brackets, you just win in them.

Q: Which school's better? Lincoln Park High School International Baccalaureate or Northside College Prep?
I have difficulty deciding, since I received letters from both schools, stating that I was accepted into both schools. Which is better?

A: These sound like schools that are located in the Chicago area, is that correct? If so, both schools are considered excellent, and you would be doing well to attend either one of them. You should therefore try to decide which one is best for you by using other criteria than their academic credentials, since they are both about the same. Consider things like cost, distance from your home (and subsequent travel you will have to make), student-faculty ratio, curriculum content, quality of the cafeteria food, sports involvements (if that is important to you), if you have friends at either place, etc etc. Sometimes it just boils down to which school you feel more comfortable at, its just instinctive. Using such other criteria will help you make the choice better, because when comparing two things, both of comparable value, it doesnt distinguish between the two. Good luck to you, you will do fine at either school.

Q: What school did Abe lincoln attend?
I cant find it any were.

A: Doc Huds is correct. By Lincoln's own statement, his formal education was limited to some months in a "blab school". These were institutions which taught by drill and repeating by rote the teacher's statements, hence the name. Of course, Lincoln rose far above the level of most who attended these schools, largely because of the efforts of his stepmother to gain him an education. (His father, Thomas, was no lover of learning) Most of Lincoln's education was of the self taught variety. However, throughout his life he would probe people who possessed knowledge he lacked for the purpose of gaining that knowledge. My guess is that, in today's world, Lincoln would possess the equivalent of 3 or 4 Masters Degrees, in various subjects.

Q: Whats a good High school to go to in Portland Oregon?
ive looked at grant and Pacific Crest Community school and River Dale but two out of three ask for high amount of money. Im told no to Lincoln school and to any catholic schools due to my family not being religious. i dont care if its a mix but it has to be a good high school.

A: David Douglas is probably the best high school around - plenty of money in the district and a wide selection of electives. Not much to complain about. Stay away from Portland Public if you can help it.

Q: Is this school, Lincoln Elementary Haunted?
This school I pass all the time is creepy. Today, a swing was moving, but there was no wind, or anybody there. Also, some of my friends keep seeing ghosts playing there. Is this school haunted?

A: I am not sure, but the elementary school I went to was built over an indian graveyard, and one of the janitors heard footsteps in the hallways after school hours and when he looked, no one was there. There's also a random lump in a hallway...I mean a huge bump.

Q: Did Beth Smith Chapman (wife of Duane "Dog" Chapman) attend Lincoln High School in Denver Colorado?

Q: Is Lincoln Park IB High school better than Whitney Young Magnet High school?
i made it into both of these highschool and i am making my desciosion. Please if you attend to these high schools describe it with your own personal views. Please and thank you :)

A: I heard from a student at Whitney Young that it's very stressful and you have to write a 10 page paper for Science Fair. But I don't know I mean it's a good school but if you can take on the homework.... Plus that student used to get A's and B's but now he's getting C's.... If I was accepted to that school I'd probably do it but then I'd regret it later because it's not suited for me. Plus in Lincoln Park the IB is very good and like Leslie said you'll get college credit. The teachers also seem nice and helpful. So I'm going to Lincoln Park. Hope to see you guys there at fall :D Plus check the newsweek website for their rankings and you will see that Lincoln Park's rank was 88 while Whitney Young's was 580 something and has only been on the list for 2 years while Lincoln Park has been on the list for 4 years. Also, Lincoln Park IB has the best IB in Illinois and one of the best in the WORLD.
