great school questions and answers
More information about great school at Education News.
Q: Does the inter american school of law have a great program?
I am thinking about studying law in Puerto Rico though I have been accepted to law schools elsewhere throughout the country. Is this advisable? Is this a great school?
A: Why the US should be considered
In the increasingly global legal market, lawyers in more and more specialties need to master more than one legal system. Doing an LLM abroad is one way to accomplish this. Doing so in America offers many advantages for a foreign lawyer, providing the opportunity to develop not only knowledge but also a strong contact base:so your best bet is american schools unless you want to stay in puerto rico and practice.
Q: What makes a great elementary school?
What are things that your child's school does that you as a parent think makes that school great? On the other hand, what are things that the school does that you think the school should reconsider?
A: Parent/Teacher involvement, and a principal that visits the class and really is your "pal". I do wish that Physical Education reappears, so many children have gotten obese.
Q: Is FIDM a great school for a career in the fashion industry?
this is my last year of high school and i know i want to go into a fashion career and i hear great things about FIDM but all my parents can talk about is a 4 yr college someone please help me!!!!!!!:)
A: FIDM and FIT are highly ranked for fashion design. Honestly I think FIT is ranked #1 their in NY, I hear its more expensive too.
FIDM is in LA, OC, SD, & SF. I attended LA 203-2005 for Graphic Design also right out of High School. 4 year colleges aren't for everyone, they weren't for me.
Actually my brother just graduated from a UC and he is considering FIDM to get more niched in his field (Business) he said he really didn't learn anything from his 4 year that its too hyped up and that because he learned a little bit of everything he doesn't feel confident in anyone particular area of his industry.
Also my 2 best friends who are now 23 just started at FIDM because they have seen my success. I am doing very well form myself as a graphic designer (clients include, Disney, Maui & Sons, Hurley, Target, etc.)
FIDM has some great people there who are very dedicated. They care about the school's reputation and they are definitely not like those other 2 year VoTechs you see on late night TV.
Best of luck to you,
Veronica
Q: Tips on being a great high school teacher?
Hi,
I'm aspiring to become a high school teacher, and I was wondering if you have any tips or suggestions to give me about being a great teacher. I've wanted to become a teacher since I was six years old and I am very excited about getting into the field, but I must also admit that i'm pretty nervous about it too. You see, i'm a softie at heart - and I know that this probably will not fare well for me in a high school classroom. Can you give me any tips on how to maintain control in a classroom? Any other advice on being a good and effective teacher would also be greatly appreciated. Both students and experienced teachers are welcome to comment. Could you please indicate which category you fall into so that I could understand which perspective I am getting from you? Thank you all so much for helping!
A: Set up attainable and reasonable rules, and enforce them consistently. Be aware of what's going on, all the time. Teach from both sides of the classroom, not just the front. Circulate among the students when they are doing seat work. Make sure that the students understand the relationship between what is being taught and the rest of their lives, etc., etc., etc.
Know your subject. Never wing it. When you don't know the answer, say, "I don't know, let's find out."
Get a book, "The First Days of Teaching," by Harry Wong.
Q: What are some great school practical jokes?
Im a senior and i want to do a great safe nondestructive senior prank.
A: We put our high school up for sale. We submitted an ad in the paper. Something like: chef's kitchen, formal dining, home theater, # of baths and showers, olympic sized swimming pool, tennis courts. You get the idea. Then we put the principal's name and the school's phone #. Fun and harmless.
Q: When you think about a great school teacher, what things come to your mind?
What qualities do imagine they should posses?
What would *make them* that great teacher? One quality or several?
Feel free to give personal examples.
A: Someone that doesnt just do it for the dang money.
Q: Do you think there is a great school in the Wellington region?
I'm pretty happy at the school I'm at at the moment but do you know of any schools in Wellington which are really friendly with not too many fights and kids who aren't violent?
A: I live in Wellington and im at school! What school do you go to? What year are you in?
Q: What kind of shoes are great for school?
I'm not talking about Gym/P.E. shoes.
I'm talking about shoes to be worn most of the time.
See, we don't have uniforms in my school, but we do have dress codes.
So, which are great?
Slip-Ons? Sneakers? Sandals? Flip-Flops? Flats?
It get very cold in the winter, but It's really hot during the summer.
A: flats
or if ur more sporty but still girly
get like pumas
comfy and stylish
Q: How to Make That Great School Year?
You know before every school year you sa "this year im gonna study harder and do much better!" but you almost never do? Well i wanna know how to follow through with doing better in school.
A: People i know restrict stuff and have there parents help and if there grade falls from an a or b then they wont do what ever it is till they raise there grade.
Q: how can I make 8th grade a great school year for me?
I really want it to be good because I hated 7th grade. I'll take any personality tips or anything else, justt not how to dress because we have school uniforms. Thanks guys for all the answers. =]
A: Don't take classes too seriously - it's only eighth grade. Pushing yourself very hard to do well marks-wise, while a good habit, won't really matter in terms of your future, and could cause stress.
Make some good reliable friends if you can - they'll help you through bad times obviously. Anyway, if eighth grade goes bad, you still have 4 years ahead of you to make some good memories.
Q: How can I meet a great guy the first day of school?
Im in 11th grade and i've had two boyfriends who both turned into jerks. How can i find a great guy at school this year?
A: You have to make a great first impression. Dress to impress, be social and flirt.

Q: What would be a great school to get a Masters degree in Business Administration in California?
A: I will list the top business schools in California for an MBA in my opinion as my list differs a little from the Business Week and US News and World Report sources that I have provided. For example I list Pepperdine below Berkeley because of the campus location. Northern California simply has a better environment for learning in my opinion. Also, the creative minds at Berkeley and Stanford alone are worth the top two slots for those looking to apply an MBA in the technology and medical fields.
1.) Stanford- Private school, considered the Harvard of the West. The contacts that you can make in a school like this are as valuable as the academics. Stanford Medical Center is considered one of the finest medical facilities in the world. Medicine is big business.
2) University of Southern California-Marshall School of Business- USC is usually ranked as the top business school in California. (see link in source)
3.) University of California at Berkeley- Arguably the top state school for the arts. But, they have a very progressive approach with a "free-thinking" attitude. The campus is located in a great location in the San Francisco area.
4.) University of California at Los Angeles, aka UCLA. Anderson School of Business. There are some real positives at UCLA especially if you are considering a career in the entertainment industry. The campus is located in Los Angeles.
5.) Pepperdine University (EMBA)- Graziadio School of Business and Management- Also located in Los Angeles, this school is still ranked, but seems to be in decline.
Sources- Experience and http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/mba/brief/mbarank_brief.php
The above link to rankings is different from the one in the source field. I recommend visiting both for more details on the ranking to see what factors are most important to your plans.
