Q: What did you think of East Catholic High School?
I only have two options for schools for my junior year left, and East Catholic in CT is one of them. I've looked at the website and I'm not sure- I'm an atheist, and I'm one of those people who tends to rock the boat and doesn't keep their opinions under wraps too well- I'm a free spirit and I go to an artsy private school right now. Do you think ECHS would be a bad choice for me, or do you think it wasn't that bad?

A: It doesn't sound as though you would be happy at ECHS, IMO.

Q: I live in east midlands, will my school be closed tomorrow?
It has been snowing quite heavily for the past hour and a half, but has stopped now. There is quite a thick layer of snow on the ground and on the roads. I live in the east midlands (oxfordshire more specifically), do u think my secondary school will be closed tomorrow? england, if you don't know where oxford is, that's not my fault

A: Who knows? Who cares?

Q: What is the best school on the east coast to learn Recording Arts?
Im considering on going to school to be a audio engineer and have been looking into Full Sail, IAR, and SAE.

A: If you want a real degree (4-year Bachelor) then you should check out MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN (I know this isn't on the coast but it is on of the best programs in the country). MTSU also has the only program in the country that offers a Masters of Fine Arts in Recording Arts and Technologies. However, if you want an Associates degree, or certificate then you can check out Full Sail in Florida, or AES in New York. Both are good programs but, the last I checked they are only asociates degrees.

A: Look in your yellow pages or news paper classified ad's

Q: Can anyone recommend a motorcycle racing school on the east coast that also rents equipment?
My husband used to dream of heading out to the Freddie Spencer racing school in Vegas, but it has since closed, and getting there from North Carolina would be a challenge ($$$) anyway. I looked into Cornerspeed at VIR but they do not rent equipment. I think DH would prefer to rent equipment than stress over potentially wrecking his. So any recommendations? His 40th birthday is in March. I'd love to surprise him.

A: Keith Codes California Superbike school-the school hits tracks all over the country,i believe they provide the bikes and they also rent the necessary safety equipment. You can also check Road racing World magazine-they list all the schools that do track days and the dates that they will be at the various tracks

Q: Can I bring a camera into the School of Rock East Haskensack for an Aiden concert?
I'm going tomorrow (yayy) and I really want to bring my camera but I don't want it to be taken away. Please include if you have been either to the School of Rock or to an Aiden concert. Thanks, 10pts to the most reliable answer.

A: normally it is the group or artist who says if u can bring cameras in. i am sure aiden will let u bring in cameras. the artists and bands that have standing / general admission concerts usually let u bring cameras i have never seen aiden so i cannot tell u for sure but i have been to bands that play the same type of music and have even toured with aiden and they let u bring in cameras: such as the chiodos, escape the fate, devil wears prada, cute is what we aim for, etc most screamo, alternative, emo bands let u bring cameras... its really usually like other types of music that dont like if u went to some like elton john concert or something but even some of these screamo bands dont like professional cameras or video cameras. if when u get there u find out that u cant bring in a camera put it in ur underwear or something... the security checks u really fast sometimes not even at all but they dont go in those places oh and i love aiden i am soo jealouss!!!!!

Q: My daughter wants to go to an east coast school from Idaho. Any recommendations? Great grades & ACT?
I don't think we can afford Ivy League, want her to have a safe college experience, prefer to have a strong LDS Institute affiliated with the school. She would qualify for scholarships with her grades.

A: As anther poster said, you need to apply for financial aid. A lot of schools that appear very expensive in terms of ticket price, including places like Harvard and Grinnell, actually have extremely generous aid policies; and there's also the possibility of merit scholarships at certain schools. Don't rule out a school because you think the ticket price is too high. You won't know what it will actually cost to you until after she applies, is accepted, and gets her financial aid offer. Do, however, also include more reasonably priced schools in your lists. There are a lot of great, strong unis on the east coast, in safe areas. The thing I don't know is about the LDS Institute. Interesting question. That's something you may need to research through your church. But this article may help: http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=024644f8f206c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=a30705e063feb010VgnVCM1000004d82620a____&hideNav=1 Great schools in safe areas on the east coast that she might like include: Princeton, Harvard, MIT, Duke, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, Tufts, Brandeis, Boston College, U Florida, Syracuse, Boston University, Rutgers New Brunswick, U Connecticut, Clemson, UMass Amherst, U Vermont, Williams, Amherst College, Smith College, Wellesley College, Swarthmore, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Davidson College, Haverford, Vassar, Colgate, Hamilton, Colby College, Bates College, Bryn Mawr, Holy Cross, Bard College, Skidmore, Wheaton College (MA), Sarah Lawrence, Villanova, Fairfield University, Providence College, Mount Holyoke and Babson. Some of those are in cities, yes, but they are in safe cities and in very good neighborhoods, or I'd not have you look at them. Some of those are schools based or founded in a specific religion (Jewish, Catholic, various Christian) and although the school may be, for example, Catholic, one need not be Catholic to attend, and faith is a subject of discussion there in a way that it sometimes isn't on a secular campus. I don't know if that's a fit, but thought I'd tee it up. A women's college could be worth considering, as it may give you a feel of safety, so I included some. And note that, if it's something she's interested in, every college I know of offers single sex residence halls for people who want them, and if she requests that, she's guaranteed that.

Q: about how much a year does a east coast public school techer make?
i am looking to find out about how much an east coast public school teacher makes. if anyone is willing to Share this info with me it would be wonderfull

A: It really depends on what particular state you're looking for. I'm sure NY teachers are paid more than NC teachers, etc. You can usually find the pay scale online if you can find the particular state's site. I've included NC's pay scale for a reference. I just typed in "nc teacher pay scale" in a Yahoo search and it was the 1st link. Oh, you should know that at least in my county, there's a hiring freeze for the 09-10 school year for new and extraneous positions b/c the state funding has been cut by millions. Times are tough, so if you can get in somewhere, get in soon and stay there! You should also keep in mind that there's the possibility that pay raises and the "next step up" may also be frozen due to a lack of funds.
