Q: Would it be hypocritical for an atheist to enroll their child in a private Christian school?
This is a complete hypothetical situation by the way, but let's say all the public schools in the area are complete rubbish and all the private schools are Christian based. But overall, the private schools offer a better education than public schools.
Would it be hypocritical for an atheist parent/s to enroll their child in a Christian private school, purely for the better education?
A: I'm atheist and i go to a private CATHOLIC school. But lots of kids in my school aren't catholics or christians so it doesn't really matter. Lot's of parents enroll their children into christian schools for better education.
Q: Can i play b-ball at a christian school my dad teaches at while attending a public school?, i dont play there.?
I really want to play for my dad since he coaches at this christian school. i have no intentions of playing at the public school. Is this legal? i can practice at the christian school and everything. but i cant attend there. Can i play for this christian school? I am in no other leagues, and they dont ever play against the public skewl i go to.
A: I don't think so. Where I live you have to attend the school to play on its sports teams. Unless you attend a school that doesn't offer that sport then you can find a school within the district that does.
Q: Christian School Interview - What Questions do they ask?
Nervous about upcoming interview for my child to get into private Christian school...anyone know what questions are asked during the interview?
A: If it's anything like the high school interview I had for my Catholic high school, they'll ask why they want to come to the school, what sort of activities they're involved in, and if they have any questions about the school. Don't be nervous. It'll be fine.
Q: Is it hypocritical for an agnostic to enroll child in christian school?
Here's my dilema. I'm agnostic, but I want to put my 11 year old in a private school because the public schools are and have not been working for her. She needs to be in smaller class rooms so she can get a little more one on one and kids just can't get that in a public school. The problem I'm having looking for a private school is that they're all christian schools. I have nothing against christians, I just don't have the beliefs that they do. What do I do??????
When my daughter was younger, I taught her to pray and believe in God. I've never tried to push my belief on her, or shall I say lack of. I grew up believing in God and all that stuff, but my views changed about 4-5 years ago. While she knows I'm agnostic, I still tell her she has the choice of believing or not.
A: No it is not hypocritical, especially for an agnostic. Agnosticism acknowledges that there is the possibility of the faith, yet views it with skepticism.
It is great that you want the best education for your child. I would strongly caution you to check out the private school beforehand.
Based on my own experience in this area, make sure that the school has state licensed teachers. Many places do not require private school teachers to have an actual teaching degree. When inquiring about local "Christian" schools, I asked about licensed teachers--I was flipply informed that their teachers were "ordained by God."--Which is all well and good but are they licensed by the state?
Also, some private schools still use corporal punishment, and will require you to sign a contract stating that they can arbitrarily administer this without contacting you first.--I had a big problem with this; any person can have a bad day and just take that out on your child.
Further, many "Christian" schools will not accept people of other denominations/faiths/or ambiguity of faith.
The private school that I found the most accepting, in my area, was the local Catholic school. It has state licensed teachers, didn't care that I was not Catholic (many of their students aren't of that faith), DID NOT USE CORPORAL PUNISHMENT in any form, had a great student/teacher ratio, and a high academic standard.
Q: What would it be like for me as an international student to go to a christian religious school for bachelors?
I'm not christian. The school is in Valparaiso, Indiana. I'm just worried that the people there might not be as open minded as I expect them to be or might not be welcoming of non-christian students?
A: I would hope that they would be welcoming. However, it has been proved that many people who call themselves Christians do not act in the way they are supposed to act. Many have even tried to force their religion on the non-christian. It mainly depends on who's running the school as to how they react to you. I go to a college that is very welcome to those who are non- christians. I hope and pray the school you will go to is the same way.
Q: Any suggestions for picking the right private Christian school for my child?
I am seeking a faith-based curriculum for my child. One particular school that I am considering is using Saxon Math, ABEKA, and Open Court Reading. What do you know about these programs? How do they compare to most public school ciriculum?
A: Saxon math is wonderful in its explanation of each unit but after about 7th grade level you have to watch out about keeping up to be truly prepared for college. ABEKA is pretty much across the board for keeping up with public school very fast paced. Never heard of Open Court Reading.
Q: I have a kindergarten interview at a Christian school and need advice!?
I have an interview for a kindergarten position at a Christian school and was wondering what types of questions I can expect to be asked. Obviously, I know there will be the basic education questions, but what types of religious questions will be asked?
Please help ASAP!!
A: I teach at a private Christian school. I was asked:
What church do you attend?
How involved in your church are you?
Tell me about when you were saved.
Why do you want to work in a Christian school?
And, I did have to sign a statement of faith stating that I believe Jesus is God's Son, He arose on the third day, etc.
Q: I am applying for private School. I am christian, but i like to be around diverse people. do you think?
i should go to a christian school because of my religion, or a non religious school please be serious about this because i am being serious about it no rude or insulting answers please, thanks!
A: It doesn't matter what school you go to, it doesn't change your religion or your beliefs, it is nice to be around all people, it is a learning experience, follow what will make you happy and help you to succeed, your religious beliefs are always with you.
Q: Is it legal to search a purse in a Christian school for a missing yoyo?
A search for a missing yoyo was done by a school principal. It never was found. He went through purses lockers & bags as the children were returning to the class.
A: yes, it is legal. the only thing they can't do is search the kids themselves. otherwise, they are allowed, by law, to search through the possessions of the kids.
Q: Is the New testament Christian school in floral florida a good school?
Is there a way to find out the teachers names? Has anyone went to this school and/or sent their children?
A: i would google it
Q: For Christians who home school, would you send your children to a good Christian school?
I went to a religious school and received a very good education. Is that not a viable option? Just curious. God Bless.
A: I homeschooled my girls 'til 6th & 9th grade then put them in a Christian school. I was completely shocked with the immorality that went on there. My children got an education in quite the wrong way. After 4 years of that I put my youngest daughter in public school for her last 2 years. She is a wonderful young lady and on numerous occasions said she felt that public school was much more in order than the Christian school.
I will say that there are many factors involved in that however. Often children that have been in the public school system and got in trouble are put in Christian schools by their parents hoping that the school will straighten them out. NO!!! It will only pollute the Christian school. This is a cancer that unfortunately occurs over and over again. Christian schools are not a place of evangelism they are a place to enforce and maintain godly character that should be being taught and lived at home.
To answer your question I would thoroughly check out the school and not take chances...Pray for God's guidance mostly! Only He knows for sure.
