Q: What should a person do who wants to go back to school for their masters?
Is there a certain gpa, work history
A: Can't answer this as it's too broad. At the extreme, a top school with a top rate program will require a crazily high GPA (3.85+) and similarly high grad test scores, along with extensive research experience and solid letters of recommendation. At the low end, you can scrape by with a 3.0 GPA and only mediocre test scores for an unranked program at a state school. Different programs stress different things. Some don't care about research experience. And typically work experience only matters with business programs. Also, some programs (typically the sciences) require you to have majored in the undergrad area or similar, or at least have substantial coursework taken in the field; but some do not care about this at all.
Q: I'm looking to o back to school but don't have the money,plus I work 8 hrs. a day.?
I work 8 hrs. a day, but want to go back to school in my spare time. How do I go about finding funds to go back, without getting loans to go back.
A: First of all, make sure to tell anyone who's trying to sell you something via yahoo answers to fuck off BEFORE you post the question.
Second of all, try searching for grants.
Third of all, try getting a PhD in one of the sciences. Any school worth going to will pay you to go, not the other way around.
Q: How will going back to school impact unemployment benefits in MA?
If I get laid off in Massachusetts and go back to school full-time (with some classes in the day time) -- can I still collect unemployment benefits?
Can someone post the relevant legislation? I have done a search and not come up with any clarification. Thank you.

Q: How much cheaper are graphing calculators during back to school sales?
I'm currently looking at the Texas Instrument TI-83 graphing calculator at Grand and Toys for $109.99. Does anyone know how much it would be, approximately, during the back-to-school sales? Would it just be better if I buy it from eBay?
Or just in general, how much cheaper are school supplies in back-to-school sales?
A: I got my graphing calculator (a TI-84 silver edition) on ebay for $75 brand new about a year ago, so I think its way better to just get your calculator online, because back to school sales won't make the price lower than $95 probably.
Q: What is the name of the static cling on the back of school buses to let them see below the window?
I am trying to find out the name of the plastic cling that is on the back of school buses to let them see lower than the window. It allows you to see wider and lower than the window. I have seen them on Vans and also on RVs. Can anyone tell me what they are called or where to get them? Thanks
A: Static cling is a little simplistic. It is actually a lense. It is called a fresnel lense. It would be available at RV dealerships, and places that service and sell parts for them. They usually call them RV Wide Angle Lenses. The basic lense that is put on the rear windshield with water is in the $10 to $15 range.

Q: Should I go back to school and start over?
I am 37 years old I owned a business that did good but fell onto hard times, I am now in bankruptcy. I am considering going back to school and pursuing a professional career such as a doctor or lawyer. Am I too old to be doing this? I have 3 little boys.
A: You are never too old to go to college. I think that a fresh start with make you a stronger people. I would first look into see how you could finance your education such as student loans and financial aid. You might first want to start out at a community college and than transer to a four year college. Going to a community college with help you save some money in the long run.
I am a 32 year old male who is also thinking about going back to college to better myself.
Q: How can I work around my limited schedule at home to go back to work and school??
I am a mother with big dreams but little guidance of help and support. I have two little girls by the ages of 3 and 5. I have been staying at home for the past 8 months and I feel that I want to go back to work and register for school courses next year. But the only problem is that, I have to make sure I work around my schedule at home. My husband works out of state, 2nd shift job, 7 pm to 7am, alternating Saturdays thru Tuesdays, and mandatory over time on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I can't rely on him to help me watch my kids while I go to work or go back to school because he'll sleeping throughout the day tired from work. I don't have family here. I cant put my girls in daycare because it is way tOo expensive and I am not eligible for child care assistance. I have sOo much that I want to do with my life but I just have no one to watch my kids. Could anyone help me with any suggestions of what I can do, so that I could get my life back on track? I just don't know what to do anymore.
A: I can kind of understand your frustration. I am in the same boat except luckily, my husband's schedule is a bit more flexible. Try talking to a college admissions counselor. A lot of colleges have on site daycare that is not expensive and is tacked on to your tuition so that financial aid may help take care of it. Also, depending on what you are going into, you could take some online courses. Good luck!
Q: I want to get rid of Microsoft Outlook 2007 and restore my emails back to my school webmail. How do I do that?
I want to delete Microsoft Outlook 2007. I tried using it, but I just do not like it. I want to go back to using my school's webmail service. I can access that from anywhere. How do I go about getting rid of Microsoft Outlook 2007 and thus restoring emails to my school account?
A: You can just stop using Outlook, but you cannot restore your emails to your webmail account. Once downloaded they are off the webmail server.
Q: I want to get rid of Microsoft Office 2007 and restore my emails back to my school webmail. How do I do that?

Q: What is the process when going back to school?
I would like to go back to school but need to know the steps. I understand that for most its a no brainer but I've been out of the loop for about 9 years. I ended school with a GED. Any advice is appreciated.
I'll need to work full time so schooling will be part time.
A: Clean up your apartment this will help you introduce change in your life, Buy new clothing and buy book bags the works smell good, Now you need to attend community college. This will keep you busy and you will have something to wake up in the morning. This is called having a life when you have something to do. The mind you have to have is that you want to push now and later you will be glad you did. Go to the college campus go to the main office ask the them how to join the school they will tell you have follow the steps that are given to you.
Q: How do I get my boss to understand I'm going back to school and need to cut back on hours?
I recently told my boss that I would go back to school. I told them I need Monday and Wedensday off. I told her my compromise of working Sunday, Tuesday morning, Thursday, Friday night, and the middle of Saturday to cover an important department. She recently told me that won't work, and basically need to remain open for them.
A: It all depends on what field you are in. If you wish to keep your current employment then you have little room to bargain with. You might be best searching for an alternative job while you are in school. If you are running into this problem your first semester you employer won't be any easier to handle down the road. Hope this helps.
